For breakfast, on this Holy Day of Good Friday, I’m having a Hot Cross Bun and tea. The hot cross buns are lovely, but the best part is the symbolism, the cross on the top, which commemorates Jesus and his death on the cross this day. These are traditionally eaten on Good Friday in the British Isles, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa and some parts of the Americas.

I also had some hot cross bun this morning. The parish gave me one along with a mini Cabernet bottle after being an Apostle in the foot washing. 👣 😱

The Cabernet is gone. Somebody drank it all last night.

For dinner last night I made roasted hot dogs with country-style french fries. I had some cold bottled water to drink.
I don’t remember whether you’re Catholic or not. If you are, did you eat the hot dogs? Remember, we’re to abstain from meat on Good Friday.

As for me, my large meal was fish, cole slaw and green beans. One of my smaller meals was grilled tilapia over rice, broccoli and a bread stick. My smallest meal was a fish sandwich and potatoes. Water to drink.

This morning, Mama is having fish and I’m finishing off last night’s meal. Gatorade for my drink.

Hi Lily,

Sometimes I’ll just try and catch up late to the thread and I’ll be posting late at night, or early in the morning and I’ll want to write down what I had to eat for that day’s dinner–or whatever the meal/snack was.

That was my Thursday night dinner. 🙂

[Let me preface this by saying that there’s a butcher shop in the area that makes some very good sausage and sandwich meat…]

Brunch today was a Lebanon-style beef bologna [grilled] sandwich, on a homemade, toasted wheat roll, with Muenster cheese and brown mustard; Greek yogurt, an apple, and spicy tomato juice.

That sounds interesting. Is this your own invention?
As far as I know…

My favorite ‘invention’. thus far, is ‘Eggs Derelict’…

Rye toast, topped with: a slab of grilled garlic bologna, pepper-jack cheese, an over-easy egg, and chile con queso.
That, and a mug of beer and tomato juice, will cure anything that ails you…

Whew!!! What a relief!!! I don’t even remember Thursday. I think I’ll have to look through this thread just to find out what I ate and drank.

After my surgery, this thread will be swimming in protein beverages. Mama’s already talking pizza for that week. Lucky her. I’ll probably be wanting solid foods after the first week.

Happy Easter to you and your dear ones, Greenfields!

Wishing you and your family a most blessed and grace-filled Easter season! ❤️

Just ate a chocolate rabbit 😅
Yeah, I ate my Cadbury Creme Eggs. I won’t be able to enjoy them tomorrow since I’m going in for my pre-registration and pre-op testing on Monday.

Still drinking a Bolthouse Farms Strawberry Banana smoothie.
