Hmmm… how is that a fact? Where does scripture say that Mary died?Yes but the fact remains that Mary is dead and not in Heaven.
Hmm… that may be… how so? Where does the Bible make an exception for working on the Sabbath for certain jobs? It doesnt, that is a man made law that contradicts the very OT scripture that you use to justify our belief.Sadly, That is just your own insightful/uninsightful (take yer pick) opinion.
The theif is also dead…Where are you going when you die?
Where is the theif that was on the cross next to Jesus?
Again if I want to learn what Catholicism teaches then I go to THEIR web-pages. example: usccb.org/catechism/text/
Just like if I want to learn what Adventist teaches I go to THEIR web-pages. example: adventist.org/
Would you listen or take to heart the things that ex-adventist have to say about your religion? Would you say the ex-adventist paint a TRUE picture of your religion?
If you answer NO then why should understand why I do NOT take the time to listen to what ex-catholics have to say about Catholicism I, personally believe that ex-catholics paint a FALSE picture of Catholicism.
Thanks and God Bless
Sure… but does asking someone something (i.e. praying) mean that your worshipping them. In the legal system it is normal to use the phrase “we pray for relief to the court” or something to that matter. You would find it on legal documents everywhere… they are not worshipping the court, they are petitioning the court. There is a big difference. You pray to her do you not?
You say that the theif is dead, but to do so, your belief requires you to deny Christ’s plain words that if one believes in him, they will never die?The theif is also dead…
I have a legal document in which the terminology to the judge is “We pray to the judge for…” This is just another example of another definition of the word pray. You pray to her do you not?

Because the SDA teachings way is a much clearer path to me personally and makes more sense than any other teaching and for me it’s easy to see the twisted lies of Satan trying his best to destroy God’s Word
Thanks and God Bless
Where does it say she didn’t?Hmmm… how is that a fact? Where does scripture say that Mary died?

From the example of Jesus healing on the Sabbath.Hmm… that may be… how so? Where does the Bible make an exception for working on the Sabbath for certain jobs? It doesnt, that is a man made law that contradicts the very OT scripture that you use to justify our belief.
Scripture says that we may help one another on the Sabbath, and uses an emergency situation as the example (ox falls into a ditch if I remember right). This does not justify working 8-12 hour shifts regularly and receiving pay for it, or requiring others to do the same. Nor does it justify SDA hospitals charging their patients on the Sabbath for their care.
I find it funny, because when I was SDA my family, especially my dad, was faced with the Sabbath work issue. He had to leave a job that he loved, the railroad, when I was very small. Yet all the while, the SDA Hosptial Administrators and Conference and Union officials did not have enough “faith” that God would see them through to quit charging people for their care, and truly just help them, not work for them, on the Sabbath.
As I said, I would never pray to who I believe to be dead and gone and more importantly, someone who is not God.Sure… but does asking someone something (i.e. praying) mean that your worshipping them. In the legal system it is normal to use the phrase “we pray for relief to the court” or something to that matter. You would find it on legal documents everywhere… they are not worshipping the court, they are petitioning the court. There is a big difference.
The first and primary definition of the word Pray is petition or ask. That is why I asked last night if you knew what it was.
Answering a question with a question? Your not a parent are you? LOL But that is my point, it doesnt say. So how can you determine it is a fact, early Christian writings say that Mary was assumed into heaven body and soul. This has always been the Church’s teaching, based on the knowledge of the first members of the Church, namely, the apostles and those they ordained to continue their ministry, on down through the ages.Where does it say she didn’t?
But, Doesn’t Scripture also say, “For man goes to his eternal home while mourners go about in the street.” Ecclesiastes. The Spirit of a person is outside the body where it “will return to God who gave it.”(Ecclesiates 12:7) not asleep. The theif is also dead…
For the living know that they will die;
But the dead know nothing,
And they have no more reward,
For the memory of them is forgotten.
Ecclesiastes 9:5
Come on now, we all know we die.You say that the theif is dead, but to do so, your belief requires you to deny Christ’s plain words that if one believes in him, they will never die?
“(John 11:26 NASB) and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
Like Jesus, I ask, do you believe that those who believe in Christ will never die?
If so… how can the theif be dead?
Brandon
Jesus didnt work a 8-12 hour shift at a hospital and get paid for it. Hardly the same. Nor did he ever state that there were “exceptions” to the rule now did he? Therefore, if your church can make up exceptions, why then does it matter? From the example of Jesus healing on the Sabbath.
Your right… it is great to be in union with all of Gods believers, both on earth and in heaven! As I said, I would never pray to who I believe to be dead and gone and more importantly, someone who is not God.
But if you feel comfortable with it then that’s great I guess.
I feel I have made my points clear enough…I really do have to get back to work on my forum so I better get going.I have a legal document in which the terminology to the judge is “We pray to the judge for…” This is just another example of another definition of the word pray.
No we dont! Christ specifically says that we do not die. Do you not believe the very words of Christ? He asked his believers then, and he is asking each of us today… Do you believe this?Come on now, we all know we die.
But the dead in Christ will rise first in the second coming…it that not at all clear to you?
They are dead or resting as Jesus said, and they will rise to live forever.
But still dead as they know nothing as Jesus also said.
Precisely!! There is much evidence against Soul “Sleep”. One of the strongest to me, is the verse that states that there are those who can kill the BODY, but fear He who can kill the soul. Very obviously teaching that the body and soul are independent when the body dies. But, Doesn’t Scripture also say, “For man goes to his eternal home while mourners go about in the street.” Ecclesiastes. The Spirit of a person is outside the body where it “will return to God who gave it.”(Ecclesiates 12:7) not asleep.
Geneses 35:18 also spoke of Rachel as such when se died “And it came about as her soul was departing (for she died)”
Matthew 22:32 tells us “‘Iam the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of teh dead but of the living.” Even though the bodies of the three patirarchs are dead, the three men are still alive
