Indeed šŸ‘
In any case,
* one could say,*** Vice President Binden hung himself and provided the Bishops a perfect** opportunity** to call him on his** false statement!!
The
lemon
** that made a bit of* sweeeeeeeet*** lemonade 😃 !!

I am still bugged today about this, I couldn’t agree more. Ryan had to have known this would have been Bidens answer and I feel like he did a really poor job of responding. I am more disappointed in Ryan than I am at Biden for some reason:(
A direct contradiction to his falsehood would have been just another event in the debate. There were several instances where a falsehood was called out, but no one seems to remember any of these.
Letting the Bishops take care of the matter will have a bigger impact.

Joe said he was a practicing catholic, maybe he should keep on practicing till he get’s it right. But if I was his manager, I wouldn’t have him on the team untill he promised to obey the rules.

Sure* hope*** he** saves** a little of that** silly** laughing for the** day** he is** packing up **his stuff and leaving the white house :yup:!!
Obama lives at the White House (rent free), Biden lives at, I think it is called the Navy Obseveratory (also rent free). The sooner they get out of Washington DC the better. . . :D:p

PS Biden should thank God that he does not run into one nun that I had in CCD fifty-five years ago; she had alot of perents tha she was a ā€˜spoter’ for God.:cool:

As an outsider I would have just seen two Catholics trying to out shout each other. Presumbly neither has any religious creditials over the opponent so the entire debate would bog down into shout of ā€œyou lie, no you lieā€

*Yep! I ment to write the day he steps down!! *
*I think we all have met at least **one **of those nuns in our day and there was no *getting off the hook if you had done something wrong! Lieing would have
cost you plenty!!

Wow…Biden’s statements were brazen lies. I can’t remember the last time the USCCB had to call someone out like this. Shame on Biden. What shocks me is that I know some people will still believe Biden, over the Bishops because they simply want the lies to be true.
My understanding is; This isn’t the first time our Bishops have talked to Mr Biden:
**Cardinal Justin F. Rigali, chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities, and Bishop William E. Lori, chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Doctrine, issued a joint statement ā€œto correct the misrepresentationsā€ of Church teachings advanced by Biden. Indeed, they argued that ā€œthe senator’s claim that the beginning of human life is a ā€˜personal and private’ matter of religious faith, one that cannot be ā€˜imposed’ on others, does not reflect the truth of the matter.ā€
Speaking explicitly of Biden, as well as those Catholic politicians who share his position, Bishop Samuel Aquila of Fargo, North Dakota, said, ā€œthey really should not be presenting themselves for Holy Communion because it is a scandal.ā€
Bishop Gregory Aymond of Austin released a statement by the bishops’ Administrative Committee, the highest authority of the USCCB outside the conference’s plenary sessions, affirming support for the position as outlined by Cardinal Rigali and Bishop Lori. ā€œAs teachers of the faith, we also point out the connectedness between the evil of abortion and political support for abortion.ā€
Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput said of Biden: ā€œI certainly presume his good will and integrity and I presume that his integrity will lead him to refrain from presenting himself for Communion.ā€
Bishop Paul S. Coakley of Salina said, ā€œSenator Biden confused the matter [of abortion] further by saying that he ā€˜knows when (life) begins for me,’ but that this is a ā€˜personal and private issue.’ That life begins at conception is a scientific fact, not a personal or subjective or philosophical or religious opinion.ā€
Denver Auxiliary Bishop James D. Conley joined with Archbishop Chaput in accusing Biden of ā€œpoor logicā€ and ā€œbad facts.ā€
Milwaukee Archbishop Timothy Dolan accused Biden of taking it upon himself to ā€œexplain Catholic teaching on abortion to the nation — and blundered badly.
ā€
Bishop W. Francis Malooly of Wilmington labeled Biden’s position ā€œsimply incorrect.ā€ He said, ā€œThe Didache, probably the earliest Christian writing apart from the New Testament, explicitly condemns abortion without exception.ā€
When Bishop Joseph F. Martino of Scranton was asked what he would say to Biden, he restated his position that ā€œNo Catholic politician who supports the culture of death should approach Holy Communion.ā€ He added, ā€œI will be truly vigilant on this point.ā€
Bishop R. Walker Nickless of Sioux City slammed Biden for using a ā€œfalse argument to justify [his] cooperation with evil.ā€
Boston Archbishop Sean Cardinal O’Malley complained that he finds it ā€œdisturbing when politicians and others try to dismiss us [the bishops] as people with merely an ecclesiastical or religious sectarian point of view or opinion.ā€
Bishop John Ricard of Pensacola-Tallahassee said Biden’s position indicated ā€œa profound disconnection from [his] human and personal obligation to protect the weakest and most innocent among us: the child in the womb.ā€
Bishop Edward Slattery of Tulsa blasted Biden for his ā€œerroneous beliefsā€ about the beginning of life and for creating a ā€œdivisionā€ between ā€œprivacy and social responsibilityā€ that was ā€œtenuous.ā€
Archbishop Donald Wuerl of Washington chastised Biden for not recognizing that ā€œWhen life begins is not a matter of faith, but a matter of science.ā€**

I think Paul Ryan did the best he could at that point in time! *
Especially with such rude interruptions by VP Binden!!
.
U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops…
This is not a fact.
The HHS mandate contains a narrow, four-part exemption for
certain
ā€œreligious employers.ā€ That exemption was made final in February and does not extend to ā€œCatholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospital,ā€ or any
other
* religious charity that offers its services to all, regardless of the** faith** of those served.

Easy to criticize Ryan on not having the quick comeback but in all fairness I agree with you. He could barely get out a word and Biden would interrupt, guffaw loudly and mug for the camera. It means a lot more coming from the Bishops.

As it was the ā€œdebateā€ just wasn’t. Aside from not giving each party the UNINTERRUPTED time to make a point or respond, Radditz jumped to the next subject without allowing any sort of point/counterpoint to conclude.

Ironically, we can thank Biden for allowing our bishops to bring the HHS mandate issue squarely to the front and center again, and probably raising awareness with folks who hadn’t been following politics until the debates.

Has Biden been excommunicated yet? If not, I can’t understand why his bishop would permit him to receive communion. It’s a scandal to say the least.

Archbishop Chaput said in 2008 Biden should voluntarily refrain from receiving Communion

Yep, you, me, and millions of others in this Country are hoping the same.šŸ‘
