It was supposed to be a joke.Yet Trump won. How did that happen if what you say is true?
Iām glad you found it funny. That happened when I was in middle school and itās still hilarious.

I heard this and I thought to myself he had a point. The younger generation probably doesnāt think in left/right terms. When I last visited the local college they had libertarian recruiters who were passing out those little tests. Last time I looked at the university catalog yes they were heavy into social justice, so heavy the physics courses went into semi-obscurity.In fairness to all, I wanted to get a better idea of what was actually said by Dean. Too often, the headlines do not match what was said, in context. I found the following at washingtontimes.com/news/2017/mar/10/howard-dean-former-dnc-chairman-suggests-democrati/?utm_source=RSS_Feedutm_medium=RSS
During a March 2 segment of the program, MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough held out former Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear ā who gave the official Democratic response to President Trumpās address to Congress ā as a model centrist Democrat whom Republicans used to have trouble defeating in much of the country.
āThose were guys that you just couldnāt beat in the South when you werenāt running too far left on guns, on God, on abortion, on all of these other social issues,ā Mr. Scarborough observed.
āCan the Democratic Party ever have a big enough tent to have people who were progressive on economic issues and conservative on social issues in their party again?ā he asked Mr. Dean.
āNo. Because the young generation isnāt that way,ā Mr. Dean, a former Vermont governor replied. āI think the old left/right is an anachronism. It exists in Washington. It exists in the media. Young people donāt think that way.
āThey are not ideological,ā Mr. Dean added. āThey are extremely interested in social justice, so we are never going back to maybe making compromises on abortion.ā
So what you are saying is that the only lives that matter are the unborn.Pro life refers to the abortion issue and is labeled otherwise by those trying to ease their conscience. In no way whatsoever does it show that is my only life issue. How in the world do you know that I ignore or downplay all others? That is simply a false accusation.
This post is so full of false accusations it is hard to respond. So what you are saying is that the only lives that matter are the unborn.
Then why not also include the unborn who are miscarried from environmental pollution.
You can define anything you want.
I consider all people AND the unborn to be alive. Iām concerned about all lives.
Of course, if one were to kill off all people, say through the ravages of climate change over the next few centuries or millennia (it could last up to 100,000 years once we have tipped earth systems into a warming hysteresis, according to scientists), then that would take care of your concern ā there would be no more abortions, bec there would be no more people.
I think the main issue re the Catholic Church is that abortion is a sin, it is a killing of a human being, a Cain v. Abel thing. There are a lot of women (and men who are complicit) who will be going to Hell ā unless they repent. The Church needs to do a lot more to raise that issue and understanding. I sincerely wished I had known beforehand about the women I knew who had the abortions (back when they were illegal) ā I could have tried to dissuade them from having abortions.
This is a very serious issue. Until this election I was on board with making abortion illegal again, and was hoping that the Dems would also āsee the lightā and talk about reducing abortions. At least Hillary (who is my same age and would have gone thru the illegal abortion times as a young woman) said abortions should be safe, legal, and very rare.
So Iām with the Dems on that, and consider the Republicans to be against life on so many fronts that I could not possibly ever be a Republican again (tho I was raised Republican). Life is precious, all lives. I wish Republicans could understand that.
I also found the post untruthful. This post is so full of false accusations it is hard to respond.
I have a question for you, if the stance by the 2 political parties on global warming were the reversed, but all else the same, would your affiliation be the same?
Have you ever opened your home to an unwed mother with child? Not for a short time but 4+ years I have. ā¦Covering 100% including Beth insurance a few tuition? ⦠I am disgusted with being told I only care for children before they are born and not after. Just because conservatives or Republicans do not think government programs are the end all a be all and deserve unlimited funds thrown at them and the left can call slowed growth in programs a āCutā doesnāt mean we do nothing to help the poor, children in need of disabled. I have supported people in all those groups ā¦But I do not think one size fits all federally mandated programs solve social ills. ā¦The War on Poverty is a classic examples of a failed program ā¦Just as liberalizing birth control and abortion are ā¦Abortions legalizes increased the number, free love, easy access to birth control increased abortion, children born into single families which is the number one cause of poverty. So what you are saying is that the only lives that matter are the unborn.

I applaud your efforts for they truly are great. But that sad fact of the matter is the despite your efforts and many more like you, there are still many women who depend on government assistance or lack the help they need. And so I support programs to help those that otgerwise go unaided, to not put those already scraping by out on the street because a program was lost. Yes many pro-lifers believe govt. programs arenāt the best answer, but private charity hasnāt worked for everyone. Thatās why I support social services.Have you ever opened your home to an unwed mother with child? For the record. I support children after they are born too ā¦I am pro-Life ā¦Conception to Natural death ā¦With my time, talent and treasure ā¦And votes
I have hired disabled in my company (no government offsets either). I and those I k is who pray outside of abortion clinics have helped find employment for families considering abortio , paid utilities and rent ā¦Followed and assisted these families for months ā¦What do you do a to offer an alternative to abortion?
And i work with and support a charty that works to move homeless individuals and families off the streets and into permanent housing ā¦they wont take public funds because the rules more often then not doom those people to fail ā¦this group follows people a full year after placement and while their goal is that 70% remain some years its 80-90%ā¦they have homeless and former homeless on their board of directorsā¦I applaud your efforts for they truly are great. It is an ongoing tactic to deflect the life issue to ease their consciousThis seems to be a new tactic to accuse pro-lifers of caring only about abortion. It is so far off base and untruthful.

Can you please remind me which March For Life speakers spoke about affordable and accessible delivery or maternity leave or even adoption? Now that gays are permitted to adopt, nobody wants to talk about abortion anymore. This seems to be a new tactic to accuse pro-lifers of caring only about abortion. I posted the following comment ,the last time you posted a comment re lack of care post birth.:Can you please remind me which March For Life speakers spoke about affordable and accessible delivery or maternity leave or even adoption? How is it untruthful to say āpro-lifeā really needs to start meaning more than abortion when thatās the only thing people think about when they hear the phrase? Itās quickly becoming cliche. Particularly when our supposed āpro-lifeā defender who bragged about groping women and lusting after underage girls? If you want to cry foul, look at who you wanted to represent the babies, not the people who want to represent babies AND mothers.
How is it off-base to accurately say āpro-lifeā really does only mean anti-abortion when the concerns of those unborn babiesā mommies are never really addressed?
Will the 2018 March For Life be anything other than an another anti-abortion picket?![]()
The womenās march was a protest about Trumpās pro life stance. As mentioned in an earlier thread, the history of the womenās march, which is 3/8 every year is very interesting.randomuserā¦You keep saying that these concerns are not being addressed. I think you are willfully being ignorant! Have you ever looked into what Catholic Charities does to help these concerns?
BTW the so-called Womenās March was nothing but a Trump bashing fest and a desperate plea from Ashley Judd to provide her with tampons because apparently she canāt afford them anymore!
Why isnāt any of this represented at the March For Life? Thatās what I donāt understand.I posted the following comment ,the last time you posted a comment re lack of care post birth.:
Here n Denver Carholic Charities has a program in place that meets the needs of the expectant mother all the way from prenatal to postnatal.Counseling and housing during pregnancy, housing and counseling after pregnancy.
Help n finding employment ,etc. I am willing to bet these outreach services are not unique to the Denver area.
Iām not quite sure Iād call a guy who misrepresents as ālocker roomā talk foul, sexually suggestive language and bragging about groping women and lusting after underage girls meets any reasonable definition of āpro-life.ā (I sure havenāt been in any locker rooms where men talk like that.)The womenās march was a protest about Trumpās pro life stance. As mentioned in an earlier thread, the history of the womenās march, which is 3/8 every year is very interesting.
The answer to that is very simple. The democratic party & Catholic democrats married to their party have tried to change the meaning of pro-life to ease their conscience so they can continue to support the party of death. The pro-life march has always been about protecting the most innocent of human beings. Many have fallen for that āchanging the meaningā.Why isnāt any of this represented at the March For Life? Thatās what I donāt understand.
Okay, fine. Iām wrong. Iāll gladly be wrong. But despite the notion that Iām somehow playing into pro-death lies, are you really going to insist itās the mediaās fault that the pre-natal care, post-birth, maternity, etc., isnāt commonly equated with āpro-lifeā? (Thatās going to be the inevitable reason why nobody hears āpro-lifeā and thinks of maternity leave or the health of the unborn babiesā mommies ā itās the pro-abortion mediaās fault we never hear about all these programs.)
But on the March For Life, the day the āpro-lifeā community has the worldās attention ā why isnāt any of this talked about then?![]()
There you go trying to change that meaning again and the deflection as always.Iām not quite sure Iād call a guy who misrepresents as ālocker roomā talk foul, sexually suggestive language and bragging about groping women and lusting after underage girls meets any reasonable definition of āpro-life.ā (I sure havenāt been in any locker rooms where men talk like that.)![]()
Then by that very definition, itās āanti-abortionā, not āpro-life.āThe answer to that is very simple. The democratic party & Catholic democrats married to their party have tried to change the meaning of pro-life to ease their conscience so they can continue to support the party of death. The pro-life march has always been about protecting the most innocent of human beings. Many have fallen for that āchanging the meaningā.
