That is definitely an attorney answer. šŸ˜‰ Long winded and complicated.

When I worked for a criminal defense attorney, I just told people it was to keep the police honest.
The police and the prosecution. You are right. šŸ™‚ If law enforcement officers and prosecutors handle a case correctly, they usually win. But if they fail to abide by the Constitution, ignore trial procedure, tread upon the rules of evidence, etc., they must be held accountable. Your short answer is better, Dawnia.

Only one more week and all of the political ads will go away! Whoo Hooo! :extrahappy:

And since I’m leaving for a silent retreat on Thursday, I only have see those horrible things for 3 more days.

At this point I don’t care who wins…I just want it to stop.

Obama campaign has bought ad time in Detroit, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. These are supposed to be safe for Obama. Bill Clinton was being a surrogate for Obama in Minnesota. Paul Ryan was also in MN today. Restore Our Future, pro Romney super pac has bought $20 millon worth of ad time for Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin
Check out the Right Scoop and Townhall. The Romney campaign just bought ad time in PA, not just the superPACs.!

Pot calling the kettles black here?
Exactly. 😃

Technically, I’m now a Finance Manager (ooooh, I know you are now impresses). I’ve only been in this industry for 4 years after being laid off from the Semiconductor industry. It was much more acceptable to people when they heard I did technical sales. šŸ˜›

I thought about going back to school to get a law degree, but why take a step backwards? 🤷 😃

Ha! If you have a real trade or occupation, don’t take a step backwards to the legal profession.

I’m with Abyssinia …

Note: With court not in session today, I’ve had waaaaay too much time on my hands. Very lazy and gabby today. Dave

As a paralegal, I get to do a lot of attorney/client translation. Most of the time, it’s like talking to children. They want short simple answers and don’t really care about the details.

I find you have to keep it short and simple when a translator is involved, especially with various dialects in play. I have seen Hispanic judges interpose themselves in trial when a Spanish translation came out with an off-base interpretation.

I hear you…living in a battleground state makes you sick of it all pretty quickly. The campaigns have bought 4000 hours of ad time for this last week. And that doesn’t even include the PAC’s and the House and Senate races.

I’m done myself…voted this morning. There was a line at 10 am on a Tuesday morning! It was great to see so many people. My mom said she waited 90 minutes on Sunday and a friend of mine over at the coast waited 2 hours!!

I’m glad so many people are involved in the process, no matter who they are voting for!

Actually, here is what the CEO said in response:
Chrysler does have plans to start Jeep production in China but for the Chinese market. ā€œWe are working to establish a global enterprise and previously announced our intent to return Jeep production to China, the world’s largest auto market, in order to satisfy local market demand, which would not otherwise be accessible,ā€ Marchionne wrote in his blog post.

Whoops.

I predict a 278-260 win for Obama with Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, Washington and Oregon going to him and remainder of the undecided States going to Romney.

Interesting polls mentioned at Townhall:

*(1) Oregon: Obama 47, Romney 41 (2008 result: Obama by 16).

(2) California: Obama by 12. (2008 result: Obama by 24)*

Romney really has no chance in Oregon (maybe a very little chance) or California, but the fact that he gained so many supporters compared to McCain in 2008 is impressive.
I’m curious which states Obama has gained support in over 2008. It seems all movement is one way. Granted those states don’t likely go red, but it does indicate the national trends in the popular vote, which help the Senatorial candidates.

There’s no shortage of their kind in the politically bluest parts of California. Liberals so freaked out about the prospect of President Obama losing his re-election bid that they can’t sleep at night. Can’t talk about anything else. Can’t stop parsing the latest polls.
David Plouffe, one of President Obama’s top campaign strategists, has a word for supporters he feels are needlessly fretful: bed wetters.
ā€œOh, I think I’m worse than that,ā€ Kay Edelman said.
For the past several weeks, the 60-year-old San Francisco resident has frequently bolted awake in the middle of the night, in ā€œa panic attack,ā€ she said. She darts for her computer and checks the latest polls. Some days she’s so distraught that she can’t exercise.
