With the race this close, it probably isn’t wise for either side to start declaring victory.

Perhaps we could all pray that when this is over-whoever the winner is- we would remember to treat each other with respect and charity.

Not sure the election is close but I agree with your 2nd comment

“The accuracy of his November 2008 presidential election predictions—he correctly predicted the winner of 49 of the 50 states—won Silver further attention and commendation. The only state he missed was Indiana, which went for Barack Obama by 1%. He also correctly predicted the winner of all 35 Senate races that year.”

Nate currently has Obama winning with 294 electoral votes.

That is my concern. If people don’t get to polls on election day,or their efforts are thwarted by circumstances beyond their control,Obama wins.
I’m not sure that it really matters, anyway.

Obama - no plan.
Romney - the repeat of a previously failed plan.

Nate Silver’s predictions for the middterm 2010 were awful

Guess why Nate Silver in 2008 was so accurate? I found out. He is not disclosing why because he signed a confidentiality agreement. He got given info from the internal polls from the Obama campaign, Buzzfeed said

With the vast majority of posters here, liberal and conservative alike, I suspect there will be no issue with civility towards one another. While I expect celebration by the victorious side, I hope there is no taunting directed at the losing side.

Honestly, I may drive to my parish for a contemplative visit with our Lord and the Blessed Virgin. I will undoubtedly take a Romney defeat very badly, personally and for the sake of America.

So, you will ‘entertained’ by the despair of many conservatives and Republicans here if Obama wins? Gee, I had no intention of going to a liberal-heavy site to preside over weeping liberals and Democrats if Romney wins the election. I guess we are different people.
Oh come on, there are plenty of others on here that find it entertaining that some liberals are worried. Just look at the posting of that woman exercising. I admit, it’s wrong to find this entertaining, but it just amazes me how people vote against their own best interest in America. How can having access to health care, choice on abortion, keeping medicare secure, and having a leader with far better foreign policy create despair in people? I’ll never understand that.

Honestly, I won’t be losing any sleep either way. I know that God is in control and that there are no saviors on Capital Hill.

Well, in all fairness, in this election only the 45-47% who will vote for Obama will be doing so. 🙂

The GOP is not denying access to health care. They are offering an alternative method to Americans for obtaining health care. The GOP (per the specifics of the Party platform) and the Catholic Church abortion. The GOP is trying to secure Medicare. ObamaCare raids the Medicare pot of over $716 billion. The GOP has laid out strong foreign policy statements. Obama has no foreign policy other than to let things unfold by themselves. Oh, he did kill Bin Laden.

No, I guess you’ll never understand our viewpoint.

Alright, would you please explain how what you’re saying is true.
  1. The GOP wants to repeal Obamacare and let insurance companies deny people with pre-existing conditions. It’s unclear whether Romney will keep parts of his own plan his system he implemented in his own state. We know where Obama stands on health care, but I have no idea where Mitt really stands and what he’ll implement.
  2. That $716 billion statement about medicare isn’t totally true.
    politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/oct/03/mitt-romney/romney-says-obama-cut-716-billion-medicare/
  3. How is the GOP trying to secure medicare when they have said many times that they want to make it into a voucher system? If you consider this “medicare” then I don’t think you understand the difference between social programs and business.
  4. As far as the world is concerned, they all want Obama to win. Very few countries want Romney doing the foreign policy work.
