That’s open to question. However, I don’t see things just brought up out of the blue.
When one offers information about themselves, they might be opening themselves up for being stalked, but they can hardly stalk others based upon that information. So no, it is not open for discussion.

This storm is a nightmare for Romney.

Obama is speaking now and is coming across as very competent.
This is a concern I’ve shared here over the past few days.
What president would not come across competent in a storm situation?

A reader on Daily Caller said
“In 2001 Mark Warner and Mark Early froze the governors races for weeks and when the restart came it was as if nothing had changed. Warner was moving and ahead before the the 9/11 attacks and when the campaign resumed he was still moving. Romney is moving right along and Obama is hamstrung on how to stop it”

Well, he has always talked a good talk when he needs to.

Of course you’d have to ignore, Fast and Furious, an additional 6 trillion added to our credit card from China and the downgrading of our credit rating, high unemployment, attacks on religious liberty, Obamatax and the nightmare of Bengazhi among other things, to see him as a competent president.

Am I correct that most of the devastation is in NY, NJ and northern VA?

There are some in the electorate who will see Obama taking charge of the situation in a humanitarian way. They will forget the past four years of his term and focus on how caring and responsible he acted when dealing with Hurricane Sandy. Not everyone, but certainly a respectable segment of the voting population. Will it motivate people who were not planning on showing up at the polling booth on November 7th? Probably not.

I’m not that savvy. I’ll wait until Karl Rove brings out his white board and adopt whatever he says.🙂 Good luck to you with this thread, Observer3. You will probably get some interesting results.

Democrat strategist Joe Trippi did not think Sandy would affect turnout that much. Karl Rove said it might affect some who can not cope with it

Obama will use Hurricane Sandy to enhance his image. Of course, I also think he will do what he can for Americans affected by this tragedy. But you can’t tell me his handlers haven’t discussed Obama’s public appearances on Hurricane Sandy with him. We are talking about Axelrod, Plouffe and Jarrett.

George W. Bush for one.
Katrina was not one of Dubya’s finest moments. You got us on that one! But you must admit he came through for America immediately following the devastation in NYC on 9/11.

No power for 7-10 days in blue states, and the blue part of VA, then. Would this not hurt Obama?:o
Tough call. It gives him the opportunity to appear presidential, even though the vast majority of what is done in a disaster situation other than to release money, is at the state and local level. On the other hand, it is certainly affecting early voting, and has the potential to slow down voting in states, which as you correctly identified are in blue states, or in particular, blue strongholds of blue states.

My thought is that a week from now, it will be a toss up and that the gains he sees from being on TV will be washed out from the impact on voting. Of course, all of that is out the window if individual states make the decision to alter voting times, etc.

It’s too late, I’d say. Remember, the undecideds almost always break for the challenger. 🙂

Barring the dreaded “October Surprise” I agree with you. Is Hurricane Sandy that surprise? Hard to say. Throwing a natural disaster in the mix a week before the election is as of yet, uncharted territory. Its very hard to predict how this will impact things, or if it will at all.

Valid point regarding the wash. Fortunately, my Direct TV satellite is out until Thursday morning, so I won’t witness the pundit follies addressing the hurricane’s impact on voters. After a while, media punditry becomes very trite.
