If Obama wins, I don’t expect a whole lot of gloating by his supporters in here. It wouldn’t be especially popular, though some will express utopian hopes just like in 2008.

On the other hand, if Romney wins, I anticipate a lot of expectation on the part of those who oppose Obama’s promotion of abortion, homosexual “marriage” and his oppression of the Church.
Either way, for either the Romney or Obama supporters to gloat would be most uncharitable on this Forum. Either way, we need accept the outcome and just push onward.

He is not in the Office of the President. And if you are going to talk about disrespect to that office, then replay the debates and listen to how Governor Romney addressed President Obama.
Obama is not in the Office of the President?

So what? Sometimes folks vote on their principles even though they know their man or woman is going to lose. No one needs bow before Obama or Romney. 🤷
Who is talking about bowing? What a dumb comment.

Yes, Rich, anyone can freely waste their vote and call it “voting on their principles.” It is completely admissable. Mickey Mouse is a good choice. I highly recommend you vote for Mickey Mouse. He has just as much chance as any one else to be in the White House come January.

Voting on your principles is not wasting a vote. Do you remember when Judy Brown of the Pro-Life Party some decades ago was on the ballot in New York State, having garnered enough support to merit Secret Service protection as a candidate?

Do you not think that she knew that she’d not win in New York? She ran on principle and those who voted for her voted on their principles. They chose to make a statement.

So it is for this election, too.

Just as Mrs. Brown had to be in the White House when she ran. 🤷

No, I don’t remember Judy Brown. What huge impact did her Secret Service protected candidacy have? Did she get elected? Did the “statement” accomplish anything?

If my guy wins I will do a bit of selective gloating.

I don’t think a certain degree of “victory dance” is uncharitable.

You can be darn sure that many around here will do some of it.

At a time when the pro-life cause was just getting started, her candidacy pushed public awareness of it. Keep in mind that New York is a liberal state.

No, she wasn’t elected, but she knew that would happen.

Her statement got more people onto the pro-life bandwagon in New York.

From a Dick Morris fundraising email someone received
Pennsylvania is the ripest of the three states.
Pollster John McLaughlin has Romney ahead 48-46. His sample has 46 percent Democrats and 39 percent Republicans, a +7 Democrat sample. In the 2004 election, Pennsylvania’s actual voters were +3 Democrat, and in 2008, they were +7 Democrat. (These numbers are based on exit polls.) So McLaughlin’s sample may actually understate the Romney vote, since it is unlikely that Pennsylvania – or any state – will see a replication of the highly Democratic 2008 turnout.
And, in the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race, Republican Tom Smith is leading Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Casey by 2 points, according to McLaughlin, and 1 point, according to Rasmussen.
And why shouldn’t Pennsylvania go Republican?
In 2010, it elected a Republican governor, U.S. Senator, five Congressmen and put GOP majorities in charge of both houses of its legislature.
Focus on Pennsylvania! Its 20 electoral votes are even better than the 18 found in Ohio. (The old shibboleth that no Republican can win without Ohio comes from the time when the Buckeye State had 25 electoral votes. Seven of them moved south and now it has only 18.)

If you call thanking God for hearing our prayers “gloating”, then you are probably correct.

There are only two viable candidates, pick one and vote. A vote for a third party candidate is a cop out, and just as good/bad as a no vote. You are misrepresenting Church teachings on this and trying to lead people away from the pro-life candidate, i wonder why?

Do you expect Romney to say he will pass a personhood amendment to the constitution, and then he would be pro-life enough? There is no way this country will possibly go from, abortion on demand to all abortion is illegal and not revolt. The normal progression will and should be, repeal RvW and send it back to the states. Then the battle in the states begins then eventually an amendment to outlaw abortion. This is what we are heading for I pray!

Now, either get on the bus, or get out of the way!
Some states, like Louisiana already have laws in place that would outlaw abortion, once RvW is overturned.

I’d hope that God had NOTHING to do with the election. I think it blasphemous to reduce God to the level of a wardheeling politician. He is GOD and above the petty affairs of men.

He does not micro-manage what we on earth do. If He did, where was he when the National Socalists and the Chinese Communists were killing millions? We have free will, for both good and bad.

Exactly…we’re on our own in this.

👍 And everyone says Louisiana is last at everything…😃
No, it’s Mississippi. When all these lists come out and Arkansas is near the bottom, our mantra is “Thank God for Mississippi!” 😃

He allows us free will to continue slaughtering babies, yes. But to say that He continues calling each of us to holiness and in turn to forming our consciences properly in order to make the right choice, blasphemy??? Really? Do you think God has no interest in each and every hair on our heads? What about each cell in the body of each child aborted? Blasphemy? Sorry you feel that way.

Petty affairs, abortion, redifining marriage which He created, etc.

Sorry sir, God is constantly calling us to holiness, and always forming us. It is when through the hardness of our hearts that we block His ability to affect our decisions through that formation. This is when He has no (name removed by moderator)ut to election, when we block out His (name removed by moderator)ut.

As I said, He gives us free will for good or for bad. The blasphemy is in our reducing Him to the level of a politician.

Read what I said, NOT what you think I said. Sheesh!
Petty affairs, abortion, redifining marriage which He created, etc.
Right. What we do with our free will without God’s interference.
Sorry sir, God is constantly calling us to holiness
Yes, but most do not answer His call. Look at WWII for examples of that.

Oh, Mississippi- you so funny. 😃

I gotta say though Rich, going from NYC to Ark had to be a hell of a shock.

On one level, yes. But that doesn’t alter the fact that the Communists were able to do a lot of evil apart from God.
