No. Plus, he is not going to get the historic turnout that he did 4 years ago. The Magic of the Unknown is gone. Obama can’t hide behind mystery anymore.
Also, this isn’t a “historical” vote like they played 2008. Although 2008 did qualify as hysterical IMO.

Got a question. I am really up in the air on this election. I have considered not voting, writing in a candidate, and even voting for Romney, because of those espousing ‘Church teaching’ on the matter.

The Church teaches that no one can do evil so that good may come from it.

As the election draws near, Romney has started ads about Jeep moving it’s head office, and/or 2000 jobs, to China. This is panning out to be false, according to spokespersons for the auto makers. Chrysler and GM have now come out and spoken on the matter and denied the validity of Romney’s claim.

Assuming it is misleading, which is a polite way of saying ‘lying’, what is the Church’s stance on supporting a candidate in this scenario? Is it acceptable for a candidate to say whatever is necessary, do evil, to be elected, so that good may come of it?

It is untrue according to MSNBC as far as I’ve seen. And the GM bosses who owe their jobs to Obama, Hummm.

From what I’ve seen, the Chinese who are involved with this deal have stated exactly what the add tells; to eventually move operations to China. The quote I saw was, “We intend to make Jeeps in China once again.”

Even if it is a lie, it holds no candle to the proven evil of the democrat platform and the actions of Obama to date.

PS. Even in Houma, we ignore MSNBC, except for the laugh after the first debate that was priceless!

Washington Post

But the potential peril of the ads for Romney was made clear Tuesday, when top executives at Chrysler and GM took the rare move of publicly weighing in. Chrysler chief executive Sergio Marchionne sent his employees an e-mail saying that Jeep will remain in the United States and that it is “inaccurate to suggest anything different.”
A top GM spokesman said that the campaign had entered “some parallel universe” and that only “politics at its cynical worst” would undercut the company’s record of U.S. job creation.
Chrysler, which manufacturers Jeep, responded that it is considering opening a new plant in China to build Jeeps for the Asian market but has no intention of moving jobs from a Toledo plant, which is being renovated and adding jobs.
Huff Post
Mitt Romney’s round of highly dubious television and radio ads suggesting that Chrysler and GM are shipping American jobs to China has managed to offend both car companies.
A spokesperson for General Motors told the Detroit Free Press that the ad was, more or less, crass and misleading.
“We’ve clearly entered some parallel universe during these last few days,” GM spokesman Greg Martin said. “No amount of campaign politics at its cynical worst will diminish our record of creating jobs in the U.S. and repatriating profits back to this country.”
The day before, meanwhile, Chrysler Group LLC CEO Sergio Marchionne penned a letter to the Detroit News insisting that there was no validity to the idea that the company was shipping Jeep production overseas. Instead, he noted, the company was looking to open new factories in China to meet increasing demand there.
It seems that there is a plan to open a plant in China to supply the Chinese market, and not move an existing operation to China thus costing Americans jobs.

And it is possible there’s a indebted feeling, but that’s speculation at this point, with the information we have before us. It is unusual to see auto makers come out against a Republican in the manner we are witnessing.

Again, hypothetically speaking, if a candidate is lying, doing evil, to be elected, so that good can come from it, what is the Church’s position in that scenario? Does that ‘obligation’ still exist?

Do a google news search ‘mitt romney chrysler GM China’. It appears to have coverage of a lot more than just MSNBC.

‘Even if it is a lie’, wouldn’t open doors to questioning whether or not other statements are only for the sake of being elected?

No, it doesn’t, but your last post did! “Now I realize He doesn’t always answer our prayers in the way we want,so if Obama should be re elected,I trust thatbGod will bring some eventual good out of all the destructive policies Obama will certainly push through!” :tsktsk: 🙂 🙂
In my opinion his policies ARE destructive,so I shall pray accordingly.
