Obama has squandered the fitst hour. Looking better and better for Romney

I don’t know which debate y’all are watching, but Obama has taken control of the debate.

MR. SCHIEFFER: May I ask you, you know, during the Egyptian turmoil, there came a point when you said it was time for President Mubarak to go.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Right.

MR. SCHIEFFER: Some in your administration thought perhaps we should have waited a while on that. Do you have any regrets about that?

PRESIDENT OBAMA: No, I don’t because I think that America has to stand with democracy.

Yep, no regrets. He is fine that the Muslim Brotherhood is in power there now.

Is that what he said? In so many words? Amazing!

I have Romney slightly ahead. That’s all he needs given his momentum.
I don’t know…Romney’s investment in companies involved in the Iranian oil industry is pretty damaging. That and his favorability among the undecideds tanked during his eye rolling while the President was talking about veterans.

As a conservative who feels that no sincere Catholic can vote for Obama, I am extremely disappointed in Romney for not bringing up the Libya fiasco and trying to hold the President accountable.

He is playing it safe. Good strategy for Romney.

This is why I hate part of the political process. If this is good political strategy and I do want Gov Romney to practice it, it defies all logic. Leaders who screw up should be held accountable. Sorry for the rant!

I have tonight as a draw. Recent polls show that Romney is trusted far more on the economy than Obama. All Romney really needs to do tonight is come across presidential and with a pretty good grasp of the issues related to foreign policy. In my opinion he is meeting that standard. If he was behind, or was running as a foreign policy guy, I might see it differently.

Obama by most polls, has been losing momentum in recent weeks. As such, he needed a big night tonight or at the least for Romney to have a bad night. It is also why Obam is being more aggressive than Romney is. Obama is having a decent night, don’t get me wrong, but Romney has certainly not fallen on his face. By everything that I can tell, Romney agrees with Obama on many things and their disagreements on foreign policy are in the details. If the basics on foreign policies are the same, and people trust Romney more on the economy, that is a win for Romney in my view.

Debate 1: 10-7 Romney
Debate 2: 10-9 Obama
Debate 3: 10-10 Draw

Romney wins on points.

With the VP debate, the only thing that anyone will remember come voting time is that Biden acted like a buffoon. If anyone remembers much that is substantive from that one, I will be very surprised.

He will be held accountable in just a little over two weeks from now.

On FP points, a draw. On domestic points, MR slightly better. On optics, Romney clearly passes the eye test. Presidential. Thus, a win.

I saw the above tweet at TownHall.com and found it to be quite accurate, though I think Mitt was clearly stronger on domestic points. I totally agree with the conclusion: a Romney win!
