While it is true that a third party will never have a chance if people don’t vote for it, the party itself ought to do something too. I go to their site from time to time and see that in between presidential elections it remains untouched for months on end.

Do you think they have the money or resources of the GOP or democrats? After all, it is all about money in the end for these parties. Maybe you could volunteer your time with the CP if you feel so strongly about that. The point is, here is a completely pro-life candidate who in theory could win if catholics would vote consistently pro-life. But they don’t because they get caught up in talk radio propaganda and/or voting along party lines mentality.

The emails that were circulated yesterday do not indicate such action and your comment
is the first I have heard on anything even close to some pro-active action from our President.
I’m sure your “someone who was standing next to the President” will soon be on TV to give
him cover???

Maybe, Mr Obama should have had him standing next to him for a a photo op - instead of rushing to Vegas?

Has anyone else ever gotten a sense of déjà vu in threads like these as though we are saying the same things over and over again, just using different words? 🙂

Where do you get your 5 million number? There are 12.5 million people out of work who are actively looking for work. Your 3.9 million jobs will give only one-third of them jobs, and as to the other 11 million who would normally be working or looking for work, won’t help them at all.

What does this show? That altho there was an increase in the number of people who were “eligible” to be in the labor force of almost 12 million people, there was an increase in jobs of only around 1 1/2 million. Our current labor force participation is lower than it was in *1980. *

So, there are 11 million people who would, according to trends dating back 30 years, would have chosen to work. *And *there were 12.5 million people considered unemployed, that is, not working but looking for work. And who knows how many are considered employed, but who are not working at the level they were working at, working part-time instead of full-time, etc.

11 million homes are underwater (now). 1.5 homes are *in *foreclosure.

*This is the percentage of the US non-institutionalized population over 16 which is employed.

**This is, of course, as a percentage of the labor force.
