Did you watch it long enough to get to the point where she realized that Herman Cain, in a Presidential debate, quoted from the Pokemon movie?

I got to the Herman Cain discussion, but not the very end. If I had kids, I might get the reference. Parents are very knowledgeable about such shows.

Why did you ignore everything I said?

Fox as been the highest rated news channel for 16 years. they have something like 14 of the top 15 news programs on TV. So a large audience seeks them out because they agree with them and find them credible. The very liberal Washington Post reported that Fox also has the highest rating from their audience as being trustworthy. Fox’s left wing alter-ego, MSNBC, does not have either the viewership or the viewer confidence that Fox does.

Does that make them right? No. But it also does not make them wrong.
I would not place too much faith and stock in ratings. I worked in the ratings field for 4 years. 25,000 households determine what 350 million people are going to watch next season. So how do they get the numbers in the millions? THEY GUESSIMATE.

I thought her comments were quite shallow, not up to your Oxford build up.

Her whole focus was to caricature the GOP candidates, just the GOP candidates. Certainly not fair and balanced when you only demean one party.

You mean this:

"I thought her comments were quite shallow, not up to your Oxford build up.

It was just one example. I’m not a Rachel Maddow apologist. Of course , she is only dissing GOP candidates. Just like Hannity is a total cheerleader for Trump and doesn’t mention any of his faults.

Obama said: "If you watch Fox News, you are living on a different planet than you are if you listen to NPR.”

Whoever would have thought that 7_Sorrows and Barack Obama would be in complete agreement on something?

This is a historical moment.
I am going outside to look for Joshua’s Second Coming.

Trump does it on a regular basis(at least weekly). Whereas Obama does it how often?

Trump won the Election and has been in office 1 year next week or the next after that and is still complaining about Clinton. 🙂

Given what some of their viewers post on this site, I would say that they are more deluded by lies that reaffirm their racist views than coming from a different planet.
This statement is about as bigoted as any that I’ve ever seen.

For Pete’s sake, he wasn’t complaining about Fox News. This is what he said:
“One of the biggest challenges we have to our democracy is the degree to which we don’t share a common baseline of facts,” Obama said. "If you watch Fox News, you are living on a different planet than you are if you are listening to NPR.”
Do you think he was wrong?

Quite a few years ago (2010), he said this:

Still, if you’re somebody who only reads the editorial page of The New York Times, try glancing at the page of The Wall Street Journal once in a while. If you’re a fan of Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh, try reading a few columns on the Huffington Post website. It may make your blood boil; your mind may not be changed. But the practice of listening to opposing views is essential for effective citizenship.

Good advice, don’t you think?

Or is it bad just because Obama said it?

As so many have said, you have the right to your own opinion, but you don’t have the right to your own facts. Obama’s works were not critical of Fox News, any more or less than they were critical of NPR.

He was quite even-handed in his remarks.

Then you haven’t seen many statements.
“Everyone who watches Fox News is a racist” is a reasonable distillation of your original statement. That’s a bigoted statement and a bigoted concept.

Well, I’m waiting for their viewers to prove my original statement wrong. So far, they haven’t. So, as far as I’m concerned, it is a factual statement.

He’s a private citizen. He’s not obligated to disappear just because you don’t like him. You are free not to listen to him.
In fact, if it weren’t for this forum I wouldn’t even know he said anything, so it is not like he is constantly in the spotlight. I don’t think Trump will just go away when he is no longer president.
