She showed obvious contempt towards the defense attorney and IMO, that just makes it look to me that she’s embellishing her story to aid the prosecution side.It was a very uncomfortable and embarrassing moment when she admitted that she didn’t read cursive. And, it also hurt her credibility quite a bit. Even though she isn’t on trial, the prosecution’s “star witness” did not make herself look at all positive on the stand. Her attitude, her eye-rolls, her snippy responses at times, her admissions, did not help the prosecution.
That’s the way it appears to me. Even her “Yes SIR’s” seemed contrived and snippy. Too many “SIRS” made her testimony appear artificial.I agree. I agree. The prosecution needs better evidence. Innocent until proven guilty is the US rule of law. Right now, it’s a he said she said.It is disturbing to me that this man could be convicted mainly based on her testimony. She is far from an objective, unbiased witness.
The skull is a fairly hard bone.Zimmerman claimed that his head was repeatedly bashed against the pavement. His injuries don’t match that claim; something pointed out to him by the investigators.
It appears they were in the grass, at least that is where Martin’s body was at the end of it all. However, perhaps they were right next to the sidewalk and Zimmerman’s head contacted the edge a time or two. I don’t know. It is just as likely that his head could be repeatedly bashed against the sidewalk without fracturing as it is your opinion.
Ultimately, even an expert in medicine would have a difficult time predicting what injuries should be.
I also find that idea mind-boggling since my 10-year old has been able to read and write cursive for a couple of years, but apparently cursive handwriting is going the way of the dinosaur in 2013. Here’s an article that was orginally run in 2010 and has been revisited due to the trial.The witness is 19…is in year 12…and cannot read or write cursive…is this possible in an American school in 2013???
This whole thing is appalling, imo. It’s not like it requires extra time/money/teachers etc. to REQUIRE students to write in cursive throughout their education like the rest of us were. There is just no excuse for this at all. I find it racist that young black people don’t understand how to behave in court or don’t understand how to speak basic English.I’ve read this morning about this woman’s mistreatment and how it is based on racism and white people’s inability to understand young blacks

I think you and I have been reading the same articles. Also, I’ve read some comments that the attorney was unkind and disrespectful toward the witness. I didn’t see that at all, though I did hear the judge tell the attorney to lower his voice at one point. I thought that was odd because he was just speaking in a normal tone, whereas the witness was barely audible as well as barely intelligible at some points. Aside from the indoctrination that goes on and is considered to be all-important, I guess it is hard to get a good education when one is busy ducking the desks that are being thrown, not to mention the fists and foul language being thrown about, not to mention worrying about weapons and drugs others may be carrying. Many, um, distractions exist and are tolerated in schools today that did not exist in the past.…What is going on in our schools that this young women and her generation have been denied basic education?

I noted the same thing.The thing that gets me is that so far the prosecution keeps putting on witnesses that end up supporting the defense, either directly or indirectly. I don’t see how they can get a conviction if they keep this up.
