Actually David did go looking for Goliath. Twice a day for 40 days, Goliath, the champion of the Philistines challenged the Israelites to send out a champion of their own to decide the outcome of their war in single combat, but Saul and all the Israelites are afraid to face him. David hears that Saul has promised to reward any man who defeats Goliath, and accepts the challenge - basically he was a paid bounty hunter.I’m sorry that analogy doesn’t work.
David didn’t have a gun - he had a slingshot.
David was younger than Goliath.

Goliath was armed and looking for a fight.
