POPE FRANCIS: ‘Our duty is to obey the United Nations!’
The U.N. has a globalist agenda to dictate what we are to believe and what we are not to believe. They want to create a one world church. The Pacha Mamma idol is one of many attempts to shift Catholic doctrine. This agenda is their philosophy of death by a thousand cuts. They know they can’t suddenly change Catholic doctrine because there will be too much of an outrage from the conservatives. They try to change a little at a time as they believe they can sail under our radar of vigilance.
The reality is that if they can’t maintain Church doctrine they need to leave the Church and start their own church.

There is a difference.

St. Paul went to the pagans house to preach to them while their idols were already there. What happened at the synod was someone brought idols to God’s house. Idols don’t belong in God’s house.

Imagine if the roles were reversed. Imagine if some Christians brought a crucifix to a Mosque and put it there. Than some muslims got rid of the cross and threw it out. Than we and more liberal muslims started to decry racsim as them throwing out a cross from a mosque was offensive to us.

The Christians are in the wrong in that case just like the idolaters are in the wrong in this case. The Nachomama idols don’t belong in a Church. They don’t belong anywhere in the Vatican, yet someone had the bright idea to put them there. Scandalizing countless people.

Just like how the clergy in the Kingdom of Israel had the bright idea to bring idols into God’s Temple. No good came from that, and no good would come to us if we left thise Nachomama idols in God’s house.

It does not matter whether the prayer was used at the ceremony or not, or even if the booklet was issued for Catholic use. The text of the prayer itself is what I’m pointing at, because it reveals what the native belief about Pachamama really is. The language clearly shows that it is a deity, and as per Fr. Pacwa’s first-hand account, it is considered superior to Jesus and Mary.

The fact is that it is a prayer of sacrifice to Pachamama. That makes it a god. A false god. An idol You do not offer sacrifice to a “cultural symbol.” You offer sacrifice to a god.

The prayer origin is a well known as shown in the Italian publication of Bien vivir: “Pregheira alla Madre Terra dei populi Inca” (or “Prayer to the Mother Earth of the Inca peoples”).

I did not vote. Pachamama * does not exist.

Catechism 2112:
“The first commandment condemns polytheism . It requires man neither to believe in, nor to venerate, other divinities than the one true God.”
How does pagan demon revered by the indigenous people of the Andes = P…ama does not exist?

This question is worded in a biased way. A more neutral one would have been:

To what extent are you bothered by the figurines on display at the Amazon synod?
  • not at all bothered
  • mildly bothered
  • somewhat bothered
  • very bothered
I think the results might have been more revealing.

Not taking time to parse out all of those who disagree, and we are free to disagree, on one of the pajillion other threads I mentioned what would happen at a fictional Alaskan Synod. At this Synod, totem poles are used as decor. Because most westerners recognize totem poles, they would likely simply consider this decor that brings in the culture of indigenous people.

At my parish in a few weeks we will erect Christmas Trees in the Sanctuary. Christmas trees are of pagan origin.

At the wedding at my parish yesterday the priest blessed the wedding rings that were exchanged. Many married people treasure their rings. These are also of pagan origin.

Pagan symbols have been incorporated into Christianity from the beginning.

Actual totem poles do contain images of gods. As you said, some people have re-worked them with different images. That does not change that authentic totem poles are part of nature and ancestor worship.

The dire situation of our brothers and sisters in the Amazon is being lost in the outrage about images.

Yes because our pastors decided to uphold or at least tolerate a lie.

That is what you get for tolerating idols.

The situation in the Amazon will not be helped through the promotion of lies, idolatry and sacrilege.

Show me where you find a prayer of sacrifice to a Christmas tree or a totem pole and where these things have invaded Christian sacred space as gods. Then your argument may gain some credibility. So far we have not had pagan totem poles used in the same way and there are no prayers of sacrifice made to Christmas trees and wedding rings.

Absolutely agree

I think St Francis my patron would have aimed a good sharp kick at the rump of that Franciscan friar prostrating himself before pachamama in the Vatican gardens.
He would have said, Get up! Don’t disgrace yourself! . . . Public penance a year on bread and water!
