Palm Beach County at center of probe into voter fraud

This analogy makes no sense. The problem of underage drinking is not solved by breathalyzer tests and the problem of DUI is not solved by carding minors. They are related, but distinct problems, each with its own solution.

Entirely preventing teens from driving would solve the DUI problem, but people would have a problem with that solution for many of the same reasons they have a problem with voter ID laws, and driving isn’t even a constitutionally protected right.
What driving? 🤷 Failure to read critically?

Are teenagers subject to breathalyzer tests for other reasons where you come from? If so, that seems a bit harsh.
If arrested, yes. I’m not sure why that seems harsh to you. If they are arrested for drinking where you come from, do they just convict them without evidence?

If they are arrested, it’s usually because they are in a bar or something and not just because they were consuming alcohol. I don’t think a teenager just being drunk is a crime here.

Voter ID is to stop the fraud that isn’t being caught. I’m not as gullible as those who claim that voter fraud doesn’t exist. They apparently believe that all fraud is caughtbefore it gets to the voter booth.

But, I get your argument. You believe that the only non-existant fraud is Republican fraud. 😛
I wonder how the Governor is going to handle the fact that his probe caught the “wrong” people!

:rotfl:
More evidence of the need for voter ID laws.

You don’t have drunk in public laws?

I’m Republican. We should not be permitted to commit voter fraud any more than the Democrats, so it should be investigated accordingly. I favor Voter ID laws because I do not want the voting process compromised by corruption. We know why the Democrats oppose Voter ID laws. Now you know why I favor them.

This is the end, beautiful friend…the end,

I despise voter fraud no matter which side of the political aisle is doing it. There should be an investigation, and if it is proven beyond a reasonable doubt that fraud indeed took place, those who are responsible should be punished accordingly.

What this does highlight, is a need for tighter regulation of the process of voter registration and voting in general. A robust system is needed to prevent any such fraud no matter who is doing it. Voter ID laws, etc. are a good first step in the process.

ummm…if you have to be on acid to reference The Doors…how is it that you know the reference? 😉
😃

I don’t understand the reference, but I know my music.

Regarding acid, the only drug (other than alcohol and nicotene) that I have ever tried was MJ…once…and I didn’t inhale. No, really. I think I’m the only person who heard Bill Clinton say that and said, “oh, yeah…me too.” 😛

Suuuurrrrreeee likely story…lol 😃 I have never even inhaled the 2nd hand smoke. I tend to avoid things that smell like something that’s died in my fridge.

I would fail a music test, though…I had to look up who the Doors were.

:hmmm: :newidea: Well Seeker1961 he could attempt to purge more potentially Democratic voters from the rolls. I recently heard of a young fellow. Been here since he was 8 yrs old. Is in his 20s now. An American citizen. Received a letter saying he had to prove it. Did. Received a another letter he had to prove it again. I’m mean I guess he can continue having to prove it until the election is over and he’s lost his right to vote.

You’re right-this revelation might cause Governor Voldemort to push even harder to remove lawful Democratic voters to make up the difference.

These laws have already been exposed as exactly what they are by the Attorney General of PA who very plainly stated that their Voter ID law would “allow Governor Romney to win the state of PA”. Once you admit that it’s all about your side winning, it’s really hard for anyone to take you seriously anymore. (see also Mitch McConnell-“our agenda is to make President Obama a one-term President”-not to serve the American people or anything like that)

Why should McConnell, or anyone else for that matter, want a president with whom they profoundly disagree, to serve more than one term. I think he is serving the American people is a big way with this comment. Our economy is down the tubes and there is no way we can continue to support the poor in the same way without major overhaul of the entire welfare system. And the idea that providing voter ID in order to cast a ballot is just silly. In Georgia, for example, more people voted after the ID law was enacted than before. We have had such a law in my state for quite some time and it does not seem to have kept anyone who wanted to vote from doing so. And as far as the AG of PA goes, perhaps we was hinting at the illegal votes that would fall by the wayside if ID is required.
