In this case I refer to the entitlment to use female space, be incarcerated in women’s prison, compete in women’s sport and take advantage of women’s positions all at the expense of real women. Possibly also their entitlement to re-define the term woman in a way that suits them.

Rightly or wrongly we do socialize boys and girls differently and it’s hard for both to shake this off.

It would seem like women are very entitled then; as we expect all of those things also.

Part of the process of transitioning is shaking that off. People go through therapy to help them do so, they live as their gender to help them do so. It’s an intense process.

You should not find and pick a religion that aligns with your views, but rather, find the truth and adjust your views to that.
True.

But it seems like Alex wants to align the Church’s views to her errant views. It would be better for the Church if such people left communion with her for a time, until they are ready to come back and accept the truth.

This is why excommunication exists as a medicinal penalty, in the that they will reconsider their sinful actions or views and return to Catholic Truth.

I wasn’t aware that advising leaving the church was against the forum codes and would prefer you not get in trouble.

It would be better for them to stay as they work through doubts.

Advocating leaving the CC is against this forum.
First of all, no it’s not, at least not to my recollection.

If Alex holds these views which are incompatible with the Catholic Church, maybe she could look into a different faith community which accepts her views as normal.

Why should she stay in a Church which teaches the exact opposite of what she holds dear? That would make her a hypocrite, not a Catholic.

@Alex337 the Quaker community might be a good place to look into, but the benefit to going Episcopalian is that you get a similar Catholic style liturgical worship. You could research and consider either the Quakers or the Episcopalians. I wish you the best and hope you find peace. Maybe one day you will have a change of heart and be ready to accept what the Catholic Church teaches - or maybe not, only God knows. Regardless, may God be merciful to you.

It’s not entitled when we actually are women.
I’m afraid it circles back a little. I certainly view them as women, you don’t. And that’s okay, we each have our own views. All I have ever seen has showed transwomen to be among the least “entitled” people I have ever met. If someone is willing to risk death, the loss of friends and family, the loss of their job and so much else; they’ve earned a place alongside me who has done none of those things.

Friend, it’s very late here and I’ll soon be headed to bed, so I am trying to check the rules but haven’t found them yet. But I don’t want anyone to get in trouble.

I am currently Catholic and currently exploring my views and spirituality to be sure how I sit. I’ve prayed on this a lot and will likely do so more. So while I appreciate your advise I doubt I will follow it (for starters that particular church isn’t in my town, so it would be rather hard to do so.).

It’s perfectly normal for one to struggle with Church teaching. As far as I know, Alex isn’t making false claims about what the Church teaches.

I personally struggled/am struggling with some aspects of the faith but leaving would be such a dumb decision.

One should struggle and find truth rather to just leave. And excommunication is not asking one to join another faith.

Relativism is so tiring and Catholics should honestly avoid falling into its trap where we tell people to believe in something else if they don’t agree, imo.

Please do not turn people away from the One True Church and the eternal salvation she offers! Alex 337, you should ask for the intercession of out Blessed Mother. She is the spouse of the Holy Spirit. Ask her to bring you closer to her son. Ask the Holy Spirit for the gifts of Wisdom and Discernment. May I suggest a novena to the Holy Spirit as well. I have added you to my prayer list. Our Lady will show you the way if you ask her!

I just find it very interesting that there seem to be far fewer vocal transmen insisting on going to men’s prison or demanding access to male only positions. I cant help think it’s male privilege, women are expected to accept men as women but men aren’t being expected to seriously consider women as men.

It’s normal to disagree and such. But the problem with many people like you (and me, since I used to disagree with the teaching on same sex marriages and all), is that their belief on a religion is dependent on whether it aligns with their current beliefs, which doesn’t make much sense.

I’ll definitely pray for you but just try to be a little objective, yknow? Our opinions are just that. Something that helped me was to look at the consistency of the theology behind a religion and ask plenty of questions. And also prayer helps but sometimes it’s hard to depend on that.

Certainly not, I am well aware that my thoughts on this are contrary to doctrine. I make no pretences of this. Currently when asked I normally tell people I’m a “bad Catholic” in recognition that I hold these ideas.

Thank you, it is appreciated.

Part of this is that there are fewer transmen in prison. Another part is that transmen “pass” more easily. But there have been such cases.

My wife recently accused me of having a mangina 😞
I’m sorry, but this literally made me laugh out loud as I wondered what you “did” to merit this comment from your wife and I’m not asking you to tell us!

That was my intention 😂

We were goofing around and she said I gotta mangina … In response, I pinched her. ☺️

The fact that fewer transmen go to prison surely reflects the different levels of criminal behaviour of men and women.

I totally agree with equality, but I think it’s a very complex subject that people are having a hard time grasping. I was flipped off the other day on the road by a woman. My initial question to her would be, do you want to be treated equal in regards to the possible repercussions of such an action?

the possible repercussions of
Women only tend to want 100% equal treatment when it benefits them.

If 100% equal treatment would lead to unwanted consequences, they tend to embrace inequality.

Of course, it’s a myth that men and women are exactly equal in every way. Women are capable of things which men are incapable of; men are capable of things which women are incapable of - that’s not sexist, it’s reality.
