I am not defending the agitators or the violent protesters, They are wrong.If that is true, then your angst is misplaced. You should be concurrent in blaming the instigators in the midst of the assembly for causing this. (as Trump has). You should be angry at the instigators as it is they who put everyone in this situation.
However, the police are using the cry “violent protesters” to attack largely peaceful crowds.
Here’s the thing - if a few “violent protesters” can cause police to declare a valid 1st amendment protest violent and unlawful, what’s to stop the authority being protested against from sending in a few agitators and stopping the Constitutionally-protected protest?
Call it a stretch, not meaning to be disingenuous. But, it’s the same thing - the Bill of Rights applies broadly, and the government can not limit those rights for it’s own convenience or nefarious purposes.Apples and Oranges… All Law abiding gun owners are not actively involved at the time of illegal crimes. As such, your analogy is disingenuous.
