Perspective | Catholics want New York’s Gov. Cuomo to be excommunicated for his

Excommunicate him, and Pelosi, and any others that ENABLE abortion by passing laws like this. If this had been done 50 years ago, starting with the Kennedys, we wouldn’t be in the mess we are in now.
Unfortunately there are many other serious issues that are counter to our faith, that probably would exclude any Catholic from serving in public office and retain their standing in the Church.

That would leave us only with office holders who make such offensive statements as,
when speaking about their ever having sought divine forgiveness have said:

“I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don’t think so,” he said. “I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t.”

Or in regards to respect for the Eucharist (or even a symbolic commemoration of the Last Supper, for those not believing in the Real Presence), have said:

“When I drink my little wine – which is about the only wine I drink – and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed,” he said. “I think in terms of ‘let’s go on and let’s make it right.’”

So, its not always as easy as we would like it to be.

ARE YOU SERIOUS! Name one other issue that DIRECTLY results in the deaths of MILLIONS of innocents.

“millions” is not the issue. Any loss of life at the hands of man is horrific, whether if by abortion, (here’s the list you seem to be asking for) euthanasia, capital punishment, poverty, lack of health care, or war.

With that being said, going back to the pretense of your initial concern, and my contention, Catholics are called to be pro-life and not just pro-birth…otherwise we are picking and choosing like we are in a moral cafeteria.

Please… one poor person dying is equal to the Holocaust?
The Church does not teach that one life is somehow less sacred than the lives of a million. It does not determine the morality of deaths by the numbers who die.

The issue of excommunicating Cuomo or any other politician is above my pay grade. For me, the better use of time would seem to be working to help women who are considering or suffering from having had an abortion. 🤷‍♀️

Where is that in the “Catechism of the Catholic Church”?

Let me put it into context.

My father died of cancer, after a long illness on September 11, 2001.
Over 2,000 people died on that same day in NYC, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania.

Do I find greater sadness in the loss of the 2,000 I didn’t know, than the one I did?

God knows everyone, therefore, do you think he is more saddened by the death of people who died due to similar situations than the death of one single person by an obscure cause?

2319 Every human life, from the moment of conception until death, is sacred because the human person has been willed for its own sake in the image and likeness of the living and holy God.

2320 The murder of a human being is gravely contrary to the dignity of the person and the holiness of the Creator.

??

You asked for quotes from the CCC and I provided them.

Kermit Gosnell is now serving time in prison for his grizzly abortion acts upon babies all the way up to moments before birth.
Yet NY which already has leagalized abortion wasn’t satisfied with that.Better to be able to kill that baby anytime any where for any reason.Ohh wait I forgot it’s not a baby until it’s born. This is diabolical and the joyful yelling and celebratory reactions of the senators in that room is beyond disturbing.
We are circling the drain at record speed.
