You talk in vagaries. What are the real causes, and how does it not make Democrats equally hypocritical for claiming to be looking out for the poor when they have been able to do nothing more than increase their numbers?And I do hope you are looking honestly at the real cause of the increasing distress of the poor.

And the Democrats being the “party of the poor” isn’t a political wedge, and a sign of hypocrisy? We have more poor now than we did in 2009, and more than in the 1960s when the War on Poverty was started by a Democrat.The opposition Party talks it up along with other morals but they don’t all actually practice.
I’ll say it, it is political. Their favorite wedges are political. They kid themselves. Their members are sinners,no more no less than the rest of us. Mea culpa.

I notice you didn’t cite any examples of “not practicing it”, which renders it kind of useless. Each party has individuals who are prone to sin, but to judge them on that and not their overall goals and measures enacted is silly.
