I know of conversion that have taken place and people that have entered religious life because of Medjugorje

When I hea a verdict from Rome I will comply till then I am content to sit on the fence about it
That’s what I’m saying. You may not hear a verdict from Rome. If the local Bishop has spoken why should Rome speak unless they disagree? I actually wish they would too but the Church works in Her own way.

As far as the fruits, I will post this once again as I found it so informative on the “flow of grace” as that is usually what is put forth as evidence.

I do hear what your saying Redrosetea. I myself am trying to follow the lead of the Church. But if I read something I think is informative I feel I need to at least put it forth as so many people are refusing to wait on the Church. So much division. 😊

I know of a very devout and holy soul who just went on pilgrimage to medjugorje…She also went to Lourdes…I think so many today are searching beacause of the mess that has gone on in the church that Medjugorje is sort of like Lourdes must have been during the time it became known, or Fatima…People are reaching for a miracle because they feel the church needs one

I hope that there can be one for their sake…We never heard much about Our Lady of Kibeho, and many don’t know about Zeitoun either

The true Church is still here and solid in its Deposit of Faith. We are not to look for signs and wonders. We are to have faith and love and believe without them. If a person continues to look for miracles, chances are they will never find them, except for the “miracle” of our Lord in the Eucharist. How is a life to be lived in faithful obedience to Christ if they have set their hopes on an extraordinary happening?

Also, the writings of the Church Doctors regarding mysticism do not lay a great deal of emphasis on it. In fact, the saints who experienced locutions, bi-location, and other paranormal phenomenon were, for the most part, instructed not to set too much store by that kind of thing. Fr. Groeschel has written about this…I don’t remember the title of the book.

I will not argue with anyone about this,Faith is a very personal thing…I have also heard Fr say it isn’t up to us to decide how God reveals Himself to others

After all your nasty little remarks you still don’t get it. Is it your pride, jealousy, or ego? Why would Satan ask you to say the Holy Rosary 4 times a day?? Before you critize people in their beliefs, make positively sure you are correct. Let me tell you it is difficult to do 1 complete Rosary a day let alone 4 and then the fasting, these don’t sound like things satan would want you to do. Maybe the reason for the Pope not saying anymore about it is the fact of the sheer number of people who have started to say the Rosary and read the bible every day. The changes I see in the church by its members is amazing, more and more people are fasting and actually going to church.
You wouldn’t want to have to explain yourself to the Mother of our Lord if she really is appearing. Other apparitions have been critisized and found to be true in the end. Quote for you to always remember, “Worry less about what goes into your mouth and worry more about what comes out” or GI/GO. I will try and remember to pray for you!!

Satan’s favorite color is not black nor is it white. It is GRAY, because the most devious lies are those that contain some kernel of truth.

Trust the Church, not some self-proclaimed “seer.”

You are assuming that the Blessed Virgin is appearing to these “seers”. I think she is not. I believe Medg. to be a hoax, that has suckered in millions of people. I also know of cases in which people see Mary, or Jesus, in tortillas, the bottom of skillets and the side of buildings. These “miracles” have also caused individuals to pray more.

Remember - Satan will cover up one lie with 1000 truths.

👍

If the priest was doing something wrong then it was right of the Pope to suspend him.

Yup, Benedict was so happy about Medj that he then proceeded to … approve it? … visit himself? … actually he proceeded to discipline Fr Vlasic, didn’t he? That act was a ringing endorsement of Medj if ever I’ve seen one!
Do you have any knowledge about how the Catholic Church works?

Your comment would suggest you do not.

The Church CAN NOT formally approve an apparition UNTIL IT HAS ENDED.

Additionally, disciplining any individual associated with an apparition (priest, bishop or otherwise) has absolutely no bearing at all whatsoever on the potential legitimacy of said apparition.

In the future, please study/know your Catholic faith before making such erroneous comments.

  • The disobedience to the local bishop;
  • The unending nature of the phenomena;
  • The Queen Of Heaven turning up on schedule thousands of times;
  • The ructions locally;
… are red flags for me.

I understand the local bishop was devoted to Mary. If she was truly gracing his diocese … well … I can’t imagine anything more wonderful. Every Catholic longs for closer contact with Jesus, Mary and the Lord God.

That he came out against the phenomena should be seen as significant.

**Look how divisive this issue is, in the local area and worldwide. Did the same thing happen at Fatima and Lourdes? **
And tens of thousands of people turning back to God and leaving the evil clutches of Satan are profoundly positive signs to me.

Also, the divisiveness of an apparition has no bearing on the validity of that apparition.

The same thing happened in Lourdes. Satan caused false visionaries to appear there so as to conceal the miracles happening at Lourdes.

Really, the naivete of the people who peruse this forum as it relates to the Catholic Faith and Catholic Church history is astounding.

Utterly astounding …

How do you reconcile the condemnations of Medj. by the local bishops?

You are right to say that gray is Satan’s favorite color, but unfortunately, that is the exact same spiritual “color” that you have decided to embrace.

The Church **HAS **NOT officially decided on legitimacy of the apparitions at Medjugorje, but Trads such as yourself have.

Both Pope John Paul II AND Pope Benedict XVI have spoken positively about Medjugorje, but you have decided against these popes.

"Physician, heal thyself"

We need to trust the Church, and not self-proclaimed “catholics” who would be pope.

How do you reconcile the condemnations of Medj. by the local bishops?
How do you reconcile the fact that, early on, Padre Pio’s local ordinary decided against him?

Answer: Bishops can be wrong.

Follow the Church Lepanto, and not the spiritual “slants/dispositions” of your own designs.

Disobedience never comes from God, yet there are some who believe otherwise. I’ve found it is useless to discuss obedience with such souls, because Satan, who himself disobeyed God, lives in them. It is best to just pray for them and ignore their silly remarks.

Thank you for calling me a “Trad.” I had never been called that before. Labeling others is a good way to close a thread that you do not personally like or which threatens your beliefs.

But please…if you don’t like this thread, don’t spoil it for the rest of us. I invite you to start your own thread and let our conversation continue.

Referring to the text in bold, that is not correct, as has been repeatedly pointed out.

Furthermore, the Church, via the local bishop, has already spoken and the FINAL determination has been made that these “aparitions” are not of Heavenly or Divine origin.

Period.

As for the discipline, you would be correct except for the fact that the publically stated reason for disciplining him was because of his support and promotion of the Medjugorje “apparitions” that were already determined not to be authentic.

Niether Popes JPII or BXVI have made public statments concerning Medj.

I’ve noticed on this thread that the ones slinging insults and name calling are the supporters of this Fraud. Maybe this is one of the “fruits” of Medj. I’ve been hearing about.

That’s completely wrong. The Church approved of Fatima, yet, Lucia received continuing apparitions from Our Lady of Fatima well into her elderly years.
Additionally, disciplining any individual associated with an apparition (priest, bishop or otherwise) has absolutely no bearing at all whatsoever on the potential legitimacy of said apparition.
I can’t think of a single approved appariton/private revelation, where the recipient(s) regulary practiced disobedience to the bishop. It may not technically relate to the final decision, but it makes it almost impossible to take them seriously.
