I won’t play the “OTHER” game, for Christ did not approve of that. Who is “In” and who is “Out”.
I’ll use my God given intelligence every day of the week to point out truth. The Left have been taken over by anti Christians.

It is wrong to call such things a game and Christ most assuredly did approve of it.

The Pope is a BISHOP. All priests, pastors, and bishops have a duty to guard the faith. Not just ONE man.
The Pope is the Supreme Pontiff and he has the primary responsibility of safeguarding the Faith. Every Catholic knows this fact.

I don’t know. I’m not Pope Francis, AND what does that have to do with Pope Francis’ support of the USCCB?!

Catholics don’t like listening to their Pope or Bishops when they say things against their political allegiance.
And in a nutshell you have voiced one of the biggest problems the Catholic Church faces and has faced in much of its history .

Sadly so many put their party politics above their allegiance to the Church .

I’m saying that’s what many of you guys said on the thread yesterday when I and others brought up the bishops’ words about separating families. You guys were like “I don’t see concrete solutions from bishops! What would you have us do any differently???”

And yet quite obviously, family separation didn’t HAVE to be a policy, in the first place.

So yes, the bishops MUST speak to moral truths. The complexities of the situation is left for the politicians, but saying the bishops don’t have concrete solutions is just an irrelevant tangent. The said could be said for any moral issue: The bishops give principles. Abortion is evil. That doesn’t mean the bishops always have a full-proof way of preventing unwanted pregnancy, poverty, etc.

If you don’t know who that is, then maybe you should question your “God-given intelligence.”

The problem Rob is many see clergy playing political games.

It looks very much like responding to a deceitful media campaign.

The vast majority of the comments on this thread disgust me. So much for Christian charity and caring for each other. It was this kind of disgusting hypocrisy that drove me from the religion the first time around. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. I will pray for all of you.

Many of these people are trying to guarantee a better life for their children. The EXACT same thing you would do if you were in their shoes. Yet you sit on your high horse and criticize them for doing the only thing they know to do to keep their children safe from war, gangs, drugs, poverty, and starvation.

THE CHURCH AND CHRIST COME FIRST, EVERY POLITICAL ALLEGIANCE AND BELIEF SHOULD AT MOST COME SECOND TO THAT. Many of these people are your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and in the Church. Be sure to remember that when you speak.

No, no, no…

That is just what people say when the bishops speak the truth that is NOT in alignment with their political allegiance.

After all, let me guess. Are you Republican?

Exactly right! It’s just fine and dandy when the pope speaks out on abortion, but let him speak up for families. All of sudden he’s playing politics and sticking his nose in “OUR” business. Give me a break!!

Hyper partisanship! A scourge that must be eradicated for the sake of the Church!!!

Yep. It’s fairly easy to see, too.
