I agree, there could definitely be circumstances where the Holy Father did nothing wrong or at worse used bad judgement, and still Vigano’s letter is largely true. I have posted a different scenario that yours that falls along the poor judgement line. Not worth resigning over.
But there were others in the letter that may not get off so lightly. We need to know. The letter was not just about the pope.

Yes, and everyone who attacked Vigano earlier this week for hypocracy due to this case will now be silent for a few days, people forget about that Vigano’s account was corroborated, and start accusing him next week of hypocracy.

Nothing thran has said has yet to be shown as a lie. He stated where documents exist to corroborate other items of his letter. No one denies those documents exist. How can anyone not consider the man credible?

I don’t see this happening, but it does strike me as a very good idea.

I think the thread is dying out of its own accord. The pope isn’t going anywhere.

And Church teachings on homosexuality will continue to evolve.

One other prediction: Michigan 17, Notre Dame 24.

Silence is what has worked for Pope Francis in the past.

The media doesn’t investigate…heck, they AGREE with tearing down Church doctrines!

Pope Francis doesn’t clarify.

Petitions are ignored.

The wounded faithful are again abandoned.

Some will say evolution, some will say development of doctrine. I think Cardinal John Henry Newman would be turning over in his grave at the way his idea of development of doctrine has itself been developed, and expanded!

Sorry, link’s not working all of a sudden. Sabotage, maybe.
Just Google “Pope Francis and oceans and plastic,” something like that.
Anyway, Cardinal Cupich said the Pope had more important stuff to work on. There ya go!

Here it is from a different source.

Pope Francis: Care for water is urgent imperative

Pope Francis’ message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation focuses on water as a precious resource and describes access to it as a human right.

From.the article:
"
Describing it as a precious element, the Pope underlines that “access to safe drinkable water is a basic and universal human right, since it is essential to human survival and, as such, is a condition for the exercise of other human rights.” He also draws attention to the fact that access for many people is either difficult or impossible."

My impression is that the pope is going to say nothing, and try to let it blow over. There will be no investigation. Meanwhile the church will become a joke in everyone’s eyes.

Taylor Marshall has a good video on YouTube about the imperial bishops. I think the suggestions made in that video are a good place to start in reforming the Church to both bring some accountability to priests and bishops, and bring the role of the bishop more in line with its traditional nature.

Who cares what non-Catholics think? They’re going to hate the Church no matter what.
There will be no big investigation and no “reform.”
We, the rank and file, need to do as we’re told, and embrace progress. And drink beer and watch football.
