Still praying for you po18guy. I will offer up a healing intention for you during my daily rosary.

Brothers and Sisters, DW spoke to the nurse directly. Apparently, they saw no cancer activity on my scans and used the “R” word (remission). However, if there is even one cancer cell left, I still have cancer, so rapidly do they clone themselves. So, the chemo must continue until we can be medically certain that all cancer cells have been destroyed.

I again credit this, and my easy journey through all of this to your prayers. I stand as testimony to the power of your prayer. I asked for strength and received it. All of you asked for healing and that God’s will be done. I am have received healing as well and it appears that the Lord has more for me to do. I can only take this as a redirection of my life, more in conformity with His desire for me.

I have just begun my second set of chemo and now have to deal with some different side effects. However, great advances have been made in recent years regarding the control of side effects. With the strength I have received from above, and your constant intercession, we shall all emerge on the far side of this to a greater union with God.

May the Lord bless all of you, now and throughout eternity. Amen.
Awww PO – I’m all choked up here. We all want to survive when we get a bad news diagnosis, but the great thing is to pray to go through the experience under the mercy and grace of the Lord, according to his will. I believe it is a prayer He will never refuse. God love you.

po:

That is GREAT NEWS! I will be praying that you have no side effects from the new treatments. You’re awesome! What can I say??? God’s awesome!

Blessings to you and your family (and the doctors),

Judi

Great news Jim, Praise God! Prepare yourself as remission is a fight in itself. I had some spots on my scans which made for a tough surveillance period, going from monthly followup scans to, now, scans every six months. Oct. 31st will be 5 years and I have a 90% chance of cure. It’s hardest the week leading up to the scans because I can forget about until then.

I ask God to give you strength in the times you need it, when you are alone with the threat of this disease and faith upholds you. Amen

Praying from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 146 (147A)
The Lord’s goodness and power

Praise the Lord!
It is good to sing praise to our God;
it is a joy to sing his praises.

The Lord rebuilds Jerusalem:
he will call back Israel from exile.
He heals broken hearts
and binds up their wounds.
He counts all the stars;
he calls each of them by name.
Our God is great and great is his strength,
his wisdom is not to be measured.
The Lord supports the needy,
but crushes the wicked to the ground.

Sing out to the Lord in thanksgiving,
sing praise to our God on the harp.
He covers the sky with his clouds,
he makes rain to refresh the earth.
He makes grass grow on the hills,
and plants for the service of man.
He gives food to grazing animals,
and feeds the young ravens that call on him.
He takes no delight in the strength of the horse,
no pleasure in the strength of a man.
The Lord is pleased by those who honour him,
by those who trust in his kindness.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

The Lord may choose to inspire through me (personally, I don’t see it), but it remains the Lord’s inspiration. All thanks and praise are due Him.

I remain but one of the wrenches in His tool box. He takes me out when He has a use for me, and puts me back when done. As with the plumber who repairs a leaky pipe, you don’t thank the wrench, you thank the plumber. Amen! Alleluia!

The Lord bless and reward each of you this day.

Jim, It’s so great to hear your good news. May our Father in heaven continue to bless you and your family as He obviously has been doing already!!! Thanks be to God!! Amen!

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

I will continue to keep you in my prayers as you continue your healing.

wow - amazing and blessed news.

Jim,
That is fantastic news. Just keep taking it one day at a time! You have been a great example of accepting God’s will, even when it involves great suffering. In doing that, your are emuating Our Blessed Mother as she accepted all of the difficulties that were sent her way. I will continue to ask daily for her intercession, that you may be healed completely.

God Bless,
Gary
