Still praying!
prayingHey guys, I’m sure you are, for the most part, familiar with my dad po18guy who (from what I’ve heard) posts quite a bit on these forums.
Yesterday he had his first chemo treatment for his lymphoma cancer which took about roughly 3 hours since it was the first one. I waited there with my mom. Anyway, when he was done he only felt tired, which was to be expected; however, while in the car he got the chills, started violently shaking, and passed out. We drove him to the hospital (which was close and took less time than an ambulance) and apparently the chemo therapy had been extremely hard on his heart. He spent the night and now they’re going to transfer him to a larger hospital that is in conjunction with facility he’s getting his treatment. He’ll be in in-patient therapy for the cancer.
We (my family and I) would really appreciate your prayers. I don’t know what they’re going to do in terms of treatment if this is what happened. I don’t know what I can to do emphasize how important this is but I hope I got my point across.
Thank you so much and God Bless!

:harp:Brothers and Sisters, DW spoke to the nurse directly. Apparently, they saw no cancer activity on my scans and used the “R” word (remission). However, if there is even one cancer cell left, I still have cancer, so rapidly do they clone themselves. So, the chemo must continue until we can be medically certain that all cancer cells have been destroyed.
I again credit this, and my easy journey through all of this to your prayers. I stand as testimony to the power of your prayer. I asked for strength and received it. All of you asked for healing and that God’s will be done. I am have received healing as well and it appears that the Lord has more for me to do. I can only take this as a redirection of my life, more in conformity with His desire for me.
I have just begun my second set of chemo and now have to deal with some different side effects. However, great advances have been made in recent years regarding the control of side effects. With the strength I have received from above, and your constant intercession, we shall all emerge on the far side of this to a greater union with God.
May the Lord bless all of you, now and throughout eternity. Amen.
May you receive the palpable grace to go through this with determinaton and with peace in your heart.Brothers and sisters, I have had an interesting week. Since switching to a less-intense course of chemo, I have noticeable nausea. It seems under control, however. I ended up in the University of Washington hospital Sunday evening, as I had swelling, redness and pain in both ankles and lower calves. The doctors are divided on whether it is a drug reaction to a new prescription to control stomach acid, or if I have a staph/strep infection. After some IV hydration and anti-biotics, I was able to return home with yet another prescription in my collection. My pill organizer is becoming rather colorful.
Since my stomach lining is almost non-existent, and even drinking water produces instant indigestion, food is no longer appealing. I do not look forward to eating. DW is my conscience here, keeping me up on my medications and food intake. I ask a few prayers for her (Elsa), as she is bearing a heavy load. If ever I doubted her love for me, I most certainly do not now. It is a reflection of the Lord’s love for all of us.
Again, I thank and praise the Lord for sending the precious souls who are constantly praying on our behalf.
May Christ’s peace remain with all of you.
p.s. Only 6 more chemo treatments to go. Ugh.
