Has BUSH been totally honest with the citizens of this country???

Yep, he has. I keep hearing from the left he hasn’t been but when you ask them for proof, there never seems to be any.**

Where is the compassion for others, BUSH???
**Hmmm…starting with removing the Taliban and Saddam from power, actions which freed 50 million people from tryanny & worse, the billions given nations around the world for various disaster relief programs I’d say Bush has more than show he’s compassionate.

More for ya to be happy about:

  1. *]Banned Partial Birth Abortion — by far the most significant roll-back of abortion on demand since Roe v. Wade.

*]Reversed Clinton’s move to strike Reagan’s anti-abortion Mexico Policy.
*]By Executive Order (EO), reversed Clinton’s policy of not requiring parental consent for abortions under the Medical Privacy Act.

*]By EO, prohibited federal funds for international family planning groups that provide abortions and related services.
*]Upheld the ban on abortions at military hospitals.

*]Made $33 million available for abstinence education programs in 2004.
*]Supports the Defense of Marriage Act — and a Constitutional amendment saying marriage is between one man and one woman.
*]Requires states to conduct criminal background checks on prospective foster and adoptive parents.
*]Requires districts to let students transfer out of dangerous schools.
*]Requires schools to have a zero-tolerance policy for classroom disruption (reintroducing discipline into classrooms).
*]Signed the Teacher Protection Act, which protects teachers from lawsuits related to student discipline.
*]Expanded the role of faith-based and community organizations in after-school programs.

    More to follow:)

Blah…blah…blah…more Anti-Bush rhetoric…If you want to complain about our country or our president…then why do you have to do it while living under the freedom and liberty that we provide for you? If you are going to trash the good ole USA or our President…or complain about the way our public schools do or don’t do things, why don’t you return to your own country first…since it and its leaders are obviously superior to ours.

Well now not being a “citizen” but a “visitor” my understanding of what make a good citizen is as follows:
Honesty is the basic theme of good citizenship. A person must be honest with others, and with himself or herself, in order to be a good citizen. Has BUSH been totally honest with the citizens of this country???
Compassion is the emotion of caring for people and for other living things. Compassion gives a person an emotional bond with his or her world. Where is the compassion for others, BUSH???

**Respect. An important aspect of respect is *self-*respect, whereas compassion is directed toward others. Respect is also directed toward inanimate things or ideas as well as toward people. For example, people should have respect for laws. YUP!!! Finally, respect includes the idea of esteem or admiration, whereas compassion is a feeling people can have for others they don’t necessarily admire. **

Responsibility, which includes both private, personal responsibility and public responsibility. Individuals and groups have responsibilities. Responsibility is about action, and it includes much of what people think of as good citizenship. You may wish to point out that one of the main responsibilities of students is to learn. They must educate themselves so that they can live up to their full potential. YUP!!! Learning and educating yourself is the best thing a citizen can do!
Finally, Courage is important to good citizenship. Human beings are capable of moving beyond mere goodness toward greatness. Courage enables people to do the right thing even when it’s unpopular, difficult, or dangerous. Many people—including Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King Jr., Susan B. Anthony, and Mohandas Gandhi—have had the courage to change the rules to achieve justice YUP!!!

Enjoy:)

“In a compassionate society, people respect one another and take responsibility for the decisions they make in life. My hope is to change the culture from one that has said, if it feels good, do it; if you’ve got a problem, blame somebody else — to one in which every single American understands that he or she is responsible for the decisions that you make; you’re responsible for loving your children with all your heart and all your soul; you’re responsible for being involved with the quality of the education of your children; you’re responsible for making sure the community in which you live is safe; you’re responsible for loving your neighbor, just like you would like to be loved yourself.”

Sounds like a compassionate man to me.

According to the “Blame America, and our President” there wouldn’t be any terrorist attacks if Bush wasn’t president.
When will people understand that we are in a war against radical Islam.
:rotfl:

The more serious question should be is: When will people understand that their Govts have successfully fooled them into thinking that and other such nonsense, while in reality its a war for the advancement of Globalization and Centralized POWER.

Who do they want posted instead?

Chairman Mao?
Fidel Castro?
Karl Marx?
Adolph Hitler?
Josef Stalin?
Saddam Hussian?
Michael Moore?
John Kerry?

“They” would rather have THOSE persons posted than say… (pause) Ah…

George W. Bush
George Washington
Pope Benedict XVI
Jesus Christ
Oh God…its worse then I thought… Thanks for pointing me to the Road of Salvation…

In the past I have made fun of those who equate King George Bush as if he is some Supreme Pontif himself… I even nicknamed him Pope Bush…at first I thought I was too harsh…now I see how close to reality my sarcasm was…

From Bush to the Pope to Jesus…
= Heaven. :rotfl:

What…no room for Mary? 😉

I forgot to ask you what nationality are you and are you here legally 😃 ??? As to your religion I see your “Catholic, Latin Rite”…no need to clarify that…totally understand.
Please note I asked what nationality (the status of belonging to a particular nation by birth or naturalization) you where not what your heritage (cultural legacy or tradition passed on within a community from one generation to another) was.

DOESN’T THE GOVERNMENT HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO WITH THEIR TIME???

But **WHY **decorate? Nothing is wrong with it…but is it really needed?? Is there any benefit to it?? Does it raise test scores, make better students etc.??
Admit that you have lost this argument rather than engaging in the sophistry of it all by now arguing that the issue is one of not needing to deocorate the class which is really quite silly. He is the President and having the ability to know and recognize him is relevant. And in answer to your previous question it is easy to respect the “office” and not respect the individual who is in it. Just as I show respect to my elders even though I may disagree with their actions. Not too hard really.

Maybe the teachers weren’t allowed to “decorate” the walls with maps and such.

I dunno - it kind of sounds like that teacher was preachin’ politics. If that were the case - good riddance. I can’t stand teachers who inflict their views on students.
Public school teacher here. Unless she was actually preaching politics, this is extraordinarily common in public school classrooms. We have posters of all the presidents, we have individual pictures of presidents, we have bulletin boards that feature the three branches of government which often have picture of the current president (regardless of party affiliation), lots of us get *Weekly Reader *or Time for Kids that very often features stories about the President, etc. She needs to contact her probably completely useless teachers’ union (they DO help if you’ve been fired or discipline unjustly) and go after this woman so she won’t ever do this again to another teacher.
This is reprehensible.

I must be mistaken, but I thought this was your post. You do post in purple right?
How can you repsect the office if you dont respect the man in that office???

It illustrates the point that having a large map on the wall is useful and not just a decoration. Why be limited to the belief that something on a wall is just a decoration? The same is true for many other things being posted on classroom walls as has been mentioned by others here.

I must be mistaken, but I thought this was your post. You do post in purple right? Yup…typo on my part…should of reread what I typed before posting …must be that GREAT public school education I got here in NJ:D

The children need to know who was responsible for creating the mess we are in…hang Tony Blairs’ picture next to him so they can also learn the meaning of CO-HORT.

Typo? You expressed two contradictory points. Which complete thought was a “typo”?

Well we have at least one testimonial here by a teacher of using the wall space for educational material. I can say from my past that most of my classrooms when I was a kid had items on the wall of educational value including one teacher who had the pictures of all of our Presidents on the wall.

I posted this on another thread. Given the way the discussion is going, it is applicable here.

**Pop quiz: **If the terrorists weren’t attacking us in the Middle East, they’d be attacking us here. So when (not if, but when) they attack America, who would you prefer they run into:A. Civilians in America, wearing suits and skirts, carrying briefcases and purses, who have been disarmed by their government.

B. The American Military, who wear armor, have been thoroughly trained for combat, and who are armed with tanks, bombs, jets, and really big guns.

There is no “none of the above” option, because the terrorist will attack us regardless.

This thread got off topic. If the teacher were hanging a Bush poster as an endorsement, it would make for a debate that could have respectable arguments on both sides. However, Bush was pictured with other presidents, so he is being displayed for reasons that should be acceptable to anyone, especially in a school where learning and history are important (I’d say the same if a conservative principal wanted to remove Clinton). The argument that he didn’t really win the election in 2000 is void, considering he unquestionably re-elected.

Blessings.
Yes. You can bet that ANY thread that mentions President George Bush will get off the topic because the predictable “Bush-Haters” are ready and willing to go off on their rant(Bush stole the election, he’s not my President, he stupid, war for oil, etc., etc., yada, yada, yada). It’s so  . The bottom line is that a picture of the President of the United States, WHO EVER it is, should be able to hang in a classroom in a Public School. Get real, people and stop letting your hatred for this President get in the way of some common sense!:hmmm:

I wish people hated Saddam for gassing Kurdish children, or the Taliban for treating women like animals, half as much as they hated President Bush for stopping them. If the world would direct that kind of hatred towards evil, we’d have a lot less evil and terrorism.
