Problem with movies always have naked women

Feminists would have a hard time with you as a member… they think that self-exploitation is ok because it ‘empowers women.’
Um…no. You can’t just throw the “feminism” in there as though it’s one-size-fits-all. I get it: You don’t like feminism so it doesn’t matter if what you say is accurate or the truth. 😼

If any kind of nudity is “necessary” for the story than the storyteller is either lazy or untalented. Or telling a dumb story.

However, what you’re describing isn’t even artistic nudity, but full-on porn. Very bad for anyone to watch that stuff.

I like the idea that Bible apologists say that the Bible is descriptive, not prescriptive about “bad stuff”. I remember in Ararat a horrible scene where naked girls are herded and then burned to death. That’s life. It’s not erotica.
Ann Coulter has a great article on this. Lot of the Bible is about illicit sex, all kinds of sin.
What I hate is shows like Soprano showing a strip bar that is completely out of place to the context.
Again, I have no problem films showing fornication, adultery or etc. The aim of art is not sanitize reality. The Bible doesn’t.

The irony is that graphic horrible depictions of violence are way way way more commonplace in movies and video games than nudity or sex, even PG - PG13 movies.

As one gets older, movies and music are the only things that bring meaning and happiness to one’s life, at least for a lot of people.

Yikes! How sad if this were true! What about family, friends, religion, community, volunteer work, etc etc?

I try to NOT go to the movies. Even the PG13 have rated R previews (packaged that way by the studios). Instead, try piusmedia.com and some turner classic movies. Also, ignatus.com have a lot of movies on the life of the saints. Also, pray a Hail Mary everytime an unwanted scene or advertisement is in front of you…

You’re preaching to the converted here. I wish more movies didn’t have unnessecary sex scenes thrown in. Often movies from years ago give the implication that the couple have slept together without the camera following them into the bedroom.

There can still be problematic themes in “classic” films… sex isn’t the only issue Catholicism concerns itself with.

As in the music thread, I have to raise my voice in defense of R rated, Mature, or “Adult” movies and music with explicit lyrics and content. There are works of FICTION and what an absolute boring world we would be in if you could only watch G rated movies, books and music. Life isn’t always flowers and rainbows on earth and using ones imagination to escape to another world is necessary for everyone.

I’m not into nudity (female or male) at all. I don’t allow those kinds of movies in my home. Nor do I pay my hard earned money to see it in theatres.

Call me old fashioned. But I prefer and only watch wholesome family entertainment. My TV is set to EWTN and Disney.

Titanic sex scene was tastefully, artfully done and absolutely necessary for the plot and character development. A hand on a steamy car window said more than any dialogue could.

It was essential to depict the love. I have no objection to the sexual element being incorporated, but it is a stretch to say it was necessary, or that any particular means of depiction were necessary.

Sideline Topic … just a vocabulary clear-up … nude and naked

people are nude, things are naked … people can ‘feel’ naked, but are actually nude

One place I use to select movies is the USCCB website. They describe the plot and the good and bad points of a movie including if it is morally worthwhile seeing. It will describe what nudity is there and what language as well.
