Putin also reveres Josef Stalin and longs for a resurrection of the old Soviet Union as a world empire.
Yes he does and it reveals a new political pole. ie. absolute rule as in monarchy/dictatorship. Whether that authority is sourced in a ‘divine right’ or human elitist power, he doesn’t care. He is anti anti anti any sort of democracy and it’s faith in equality and freedom.

Putin has made himself dictator of Russia.

Among his offenses:
  • Murdering enemies
  • Imprisoning dissenters
  • Occupying Ukraine and Georgia
  • Quashing opposition
  • Intimidating human rights activists
Here’s the bottom line:
“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.” (Matthew 7:18)

@EndTimes
Eliminating the scourge of Active Sodomites - ain’t such horrific shabby behavior, Eh?
While some may approve of Putin’s policy against “eliminating the scourge of Active Sodomites,” keep in mind that Hitler locked up “sodomites” too.

I think that it’s important for us to look at policies within context and question their motivations.

@AINg
So should Roman Catholics approve of Same Sex marriage and sodomy because Hitler was against it?
My point is not about Roman Catholic disapproval of same-sex marriage and sodomy.

When a tyrant creates a policy we may agree with, we should question his motives. I can’t read his mind. But I can evaluate the behavior that I noted above.
  • Murdering enemies
  • Imprisoning dissenters
  • Occupying Ukraine
  • Quashing opposition
  • Intimidating human rights activists
Let’s remember who Putin is and what he’s about. We can’t fool ourselves. Putin does what’s good for Putin.

When you turn it around it is false. Sanders is not communist. Democrats do not embrace the Soviet socialism system.

Putin invaded Ukraine in February '14 and continues to encroach on it’s sovereignty to this day. Doesn’t that bother you?
No it does not. For several reasons:
  1. The people of Crimea voted to join Russia and independent polls confirm that.
  2. Crimea had been part of Russia since 1783.
  3. Russian is the language commonly spoken in Crimea.
  4. On 19 February 1954, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR illegally transferred Crimea to Ukraine. No vote or referendum took place and the people of Crimea had no sayso over this decision. Richard Sakwa doubts that this transfer was legitimate.
  5. The democratically elected government of Ukraine was overthrown by an unconstitutional coup d etat supported by western governments.

Yes. We should approve of everything that Hitler was against. Of course.

Your argument doesn’t make any sense.

If the polls and democratically elected government were at all connected to the Putin regime then they were most certainly neither democratic nor independent.

An opinion piece of a right wing advocate. He admits Bernie is not a member/ communist. He does not offer any evidence Bernie wants to make business public owned… Save for single payer. Which is what all of the world’s top economies have gone to. All but us. And they enjoy superior health care.
He will tax the wealthy as he says. So he has enemies like the author and his affiliated entities. The rich will oppose him no doubt. You can also. But he isn’t a communist.
MOST IMPORTANT, the claim was DEMOCRATS ARE COMMUNIST. AND BERNIE IS JUST ONE WHO IS AN INDEPENDANT ACTUALLY. You failed to address " Democrats"

I don’t agree with Bernie, the democrats or what is commonly called socialism, but I agree he’s not a commie.

You said Democrats. Then spoke only of Bernie. Nothing serious about that.
The opinion writer admitted Bernie was never part of the communist party. Did not mention a word about Bernie proposing state ownership of private business. So he said nothing required.

None of that proves he’s a communist. Quite a bit of it seems more like cold war politicking.

Ah, I see. What would it take to prove that he is a communist? I mean given that he has to tread lightly with regard to his propaganda in order to have any kind of chance to be elected as an independent, social democrat?

I wouldn’t expect him to reveal full-blown hammer and sickle offerings at this point in time, so how would you know that the list of his activities is “… more like cold war politicking” and less like Bernie merely minding his P’s and Q’s or gas lighting the electorate in order to have a possible chance at being elected?

Short of his name showing up in the VENONA papers, a clear statement like one of the following.

“I am a dialectical materialist.”
“I believe Marx’s conception of history was correct.”
“I am a Marxist.”
Or simply,
“I am a communist.”

Actually that wasn’t the claim, that was just you misrepresenting what I wrote.

My quote…
It is just as bizarre that some of the same people who are so happy to embrace socialism and Bernie Sanders’ communism, are equally happy to sing the “collusion” narrative against anyone who opposes them being aligned with Putin, a “murderous former KGB agent” of the same socialist/communist system they are so ready to embrace and espouse.
Where in that statement do you see the word “DEMOCRATS?” Or that “DEMOCRATS ARE COMMUNIST?”

I did state that Sanders’ communism is what “some” people are happy to embrace, so I will stand by the claim that Sanders is provably communist in his ideology, but that isn’t a claim that Democrats generally are communist.

I see. So it doesn’t matter how the individual acts or the policies they threaten to enact; what matters are the words they use to refer to themselves. Interesting.

After graduating with a political science degree, Sanders moved to Vermont, where he headed the American People’s History Society, an organ for Marxist propaganda. There, he produced a glowing documentary on the life of socialist revolutionary Eugene Debs, who was jailed for espionage during the Red Scare and hailed by the Bolsheviks as “America’s greatest Marxist.”

And Russell Kirk once said he voted for Norman Thomas because he couldn’t vote for Eugene Debs. Does that make Russell Kirk a communist or a Marxist?

Am I a socialist because I read a socialist magazine regularly?
