Okay, Rush is saying the Republican Base did not turn out. Why?? I don’t know.

But if the figures are out there and I have heard it it is that though Romney was closer to Obama percentage wise, both candidates, Romney and Obama had fewer votes than the Republican/Democrat turnout of '08. Why? The base did not turn out I guess.
Amazing stats, Republicans may have lost 3,000,000 voters but Obama lost 10,000,000.

The irony is that there has not, so far, been “free stuff” worthy of selling oneself for. Free $9/month contraceptives? A $1,000 subsidy on one’s health premiums when one’s premium costs go up $2500? One would think people would demand a higher price on themselves than that. I’ll admit, people wealthy enough to buy new cars did make out in “Cash for Clunkers”.
 
Sorry Abysinnia, this thread is about the demographic challenges, guess I got confused on the different issues being discussed.

He was formerly my congressman and it was my understanding he could have tried to win reelection vs Lois Frankel in our district. Originally Patrick Murphy was expected to challenge Frankel in a primary. But when West decided to run in the new district created to the north, thought to be more favorable for Republicans, Murphy took him on there and it turned out both Murphy and Frankel were elected.

Yet we were told over and over including by some on CAF, that conservatives were more fired up and ready to go to oust Barack Obama in the general. You simply underestimated how motivated the rest of America had become to vote and underestimated the electorate. This was never going to be the midterm electorate of 2010.

Yes I know he refuses to concede. That doesn’t surprise me at all. But 100% of the votes have been counted. And if that vote stands, it doesn’t matter if he concedes or not. He can refuse to concede forever. But he won’t be in the next Congress. I will thank God for that. The man was swept into office in that one midterm yr Tea Party wave. But was just too divisive for my tastes which in the end is why I think he came up short in votes on election night. Guess we’ll see what comes of his lawsuit though.
 
See, California raises taxes on the rich, guess who mainly voted for this measure? According to some stories, the Hispanics. So this is probably more of what this is about.

There were plenty of people who conceded after not getting votes on Tuesday. If Allen West thinks there is something not right the with the ballots or with alleged fraud then that should be taken seriously

I do not think Romney was very moderate but it is true that the candidates such as Dole, Ford, McCain and Romney that were seen as more moderate lost

If Rush becomes the true voice of the Republican Party they are in more trouble than even the most pessimistic observer would say.

We would all be better off if we loaded all the pundits, Rush, Chris, Sean, etal, on a slow boat to nowhere. They all preach a gospel of division.
