2 things are going to have an impact on the DNC and perhaps Obama’s bounce. Day after Obama gives his speech the August jobs report is released and it is not going to be good. Day of the DNC start the debt will hit $16 trillion

I give up posting from LewRockwell. People here are just not open to reading anything cited from it. However, I was a rabid establishment GOPer just 4 years ago. I used to flame down lewrock myself, calling them a bunch of nutbag potheads. Then I actually startedreading folks like Gary North, Tom Woods, Thomas DiLorenzo, and Lewellyn Rockwell himself. They in turn lead me to the likes of Murray Rothbard, Fredrich von Hayek, and Ludwig von Mises. The more I read, the more I understood that the power structure of the GOP and DNC are less concerned about serving the people who put them in office, and more about paying back the people who funnel money and power into their pockets. I began to understand that it wasn’t unions that I despised, but rather the bosses like Richard Trumpka and Andy Sterns, who use the DNC to openly promote and push for communism.
I don’t really agree with every point made on lewrockwell. But I do agree with Kwiatkowski. And it seems that most, if not all, of her articles are at lewrockwell.

They are both uninteresting and unexciting. The only excitement may come if Biden has a psychotic episode on stage.
I actually anticipate watching Ryan debate Biden. Ryan supported many things I despise, but I find him honest and sincere, and at least he can substantiate his positions with theological and mathematical underpinnings. Sometimes I find his conclusions erroneous, but at least he is not clinically insane. I cannot believe that the media covers for Biden as much as it does. Had he been a REpublican and said some of the God-aweful racist, sexist things he has, he would have been put in a crow’s cage on Constitution Avenue by now.

From what I have read, I find nothing “embarrassing” about lewrockwell.com.
:
Here is some “wisdom” from the Lew Rockwell site:

" Dinesh D’Souza’s 2016 is a pack of lies"

" Clint Eastwood let’s the RNC warmongers make his day."

" Ron Paul: The GOP is not my party" (didn’t he just run for the nomination?)

" Neutrality is back, thanks to Iran and despite the machinations of US and Israel"

Need we say more? What a nutty site - not sure I’d want to post a link from it.

Biden isn’t as dumb as people make him out to be. He may actually do rather well in the debate.

TO be honest, LewRock has some writers who wouldn’t have an audience if it wasn’t for the site. Guys like Fred Reed need to just enjoy their retirement in Mexico, sip a margarita, and put down the iPad.

Her article has a lot of name calling in it. I would say that it is “nasty” no matter if you agree with what she says or not.
Calling what she says “nasty” degrades the actual meaning of “nasty.” That is a PC police, shut down the conversation because it is “offensive” tactic. It is an old Soviet tactic.

Based on the comments that he has made in public, I beg to differ with your analysis.

“Look at what they [Republicans] value, and look at their budget. And look what they’re proposing. [Romney] said in the first 100 days, he’s going to let the big banks write their own rules – unchain Wall Street. They’re going to put y’all back in chains." --Joe Biden, speaking to a largely African-American audience in Danville, Va., Aug. 14, 2012

“Folks, I can tell you I’ve known eight presidents, three of them intimately.” --Joe Biden, Aug. 22, 2012  Is he competing with Clinton…is Clinton one of them?

“I promise you, the president has a big stick. I promise you.” --Joe Biden, (April 26, 2012) 😊

“My mother believed and my father believed that if I wanted to be president of the United States, I could be, I could be Vice President!” --Joe Biden, campaigning in Youngstown, Ohio, May 16, 2012 :hypno:

“This is a big ******* deal!” --Joe Biden, caught on an open mic congratulating President Barack Obama during the health care signing ceremony, Washington, D.C., March 23, 2010

“His mom lived in Long Island for ten years or so. God rest her soul. And- although, she’s- wait- your mom’s still- your mom’s still alive. Your dad passed. God bless her soul.” --Joe Biden, on the mother of Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen, who is very much alive, Washington, D.C., March 17, 2010

“If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, there’s still a 30% chance we’re going to get it wrong.” --Joe Biden, speaking to members of the House Democratic caucus who were gathered in Williamsburg, Va., for their annual retreat, Feb. 6, 2009

“Look, John’s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs.” --Joe Biden, Athens, Ohio, Oct. 15, 2008

“When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here’s what happened.” –Joe Biden, apparently unaware that FDR wasn’t president when the stock market crashed in 1929 and that only experimental TV sets were in use at that time, interview with Katie Couric, Sept. 22, 2008

“Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me.” --Joe Biden, speaking at a town hall meeting in Nashua, New Hampshire, Sept. 10, 2008

“You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent… I’m not joking.” --Joe Biden, in a private remark to an Indian-American man caught on C-SPAN, June, 2006

The truly “nutty” thing is that you would determine a site is “nutty” simply because you disagree with it.

Her article has a lot of name calling in it. I would say that it is “nasty” no matter if you agree with what she says or not.
Absolutely. If you have to resort to making comments about people’s size or shape then your argument loses credibility. It sounded like the rant of a poor loser rather than a thoughtful commentary on the Convention.

That is revealing. I have never put too much trust in a political party or in a candidate or politician. (maybe 30 years ago I might have). You have to be realistic - if you are a rabid anything then you are setting yourself for let down - and then you become the opposite - instead of a rabid GOP’er you become a rabid anti- GOP’er. Perhaps the problem isn’t the GOP, but that people put to much faith and trust in the flawed humans in the GOP (or other man made organization) and when they were revealed to be corrupt (imagine people in power being corrupt!) then they felf betrayed and let down. If we have a narrow superficial idealized conception of the GOP or other institution made by man and get our hopes up that they will change the world, then we are setting up ourselves for let down. I see the same kind of idealized hope in Ron Paul or other 3rd party groups: “if only our guy got elected then he/she would change things in Washington and save our country.” Am I being too cynical? I don’t think so. I believe we can elect people who will change things - just don’t get your hopes up too much, and don’t invest too much emotion.

Exactly. She could easily have made the same criticism, whether we agree with it or not, without the nastiness.

That’s right. I am inventing my perception and am totally biased against Eastwood and his fantastic presentation. 🙂

I think posters who read my posts know that I am no ideologue. I can call a spade a spade when I see it, no matter where it comes from.
BAHAHAHAHA that is the funniest thing I’ve read all morning! You know I don’t mind idealogues and proudly admit to my own biases (my nickname is Lisa Tell Us How You Really Feel). Like many in the MSM you see your own incredible bias as “moderate” or “fair.”

As stated earlier, your posts indicate such a level of submersion in the Democrat tank the gas was probably purchased at $1.79

No, at CAF we are aked to discuss charitably. Nasty personal attacks are not.

I am a rabid anti-political party. I am not “rabidly” anti-GOP. There are still many things I appreciate about the GOP. But the establishment just forcing a rules changed down the convention’s throat with rubber stamping by John Boehner was deplorable. I think Rence Prebius should be barred from politics. He pick Mitt Romney from the get go and broke the rules during the primaries to ensure that his boy got the nomination. There are many terrible examples of establishmentarianism in the GOP that make it as unappealing as the DNC. However, get rid of Prebius and elect a party chief that has some moral integrity and I would be more inclined to support it.

Brilliant Ishii! Putting our faith in “princes” is a ticket to disappointment. I shake my head in wonder at those who disparage all those running or elected for their lack of perfection, assuming that their failed candidate could have “made the oceans reatreat and heal the planet.”

Perfection is the enemy of the good. I’d take good over evil anyday and continually push for a higher and higher standard. Perfection we will never achieve. Let’s at least move in the right direction instead of being mired in self pity and regret for 'what might have been…"

These are wonderful! LOL Yes, it appears Joe Biden is the master of the gaffe: sorry, GWB. But at least his comment on Hillary shows humility (unlike Obama); and do you really expect him to call “jobs” a FOUR-letter word? Maybe Biden can do some shtick at the DNC similar to that performed by Clint Eastwood. On a serious note, I still have to admire any man who can make a new life for himself after his first wife and child were killed in a car accident. That takes courage.
