Bit sad to see the most prolife candidate (Santorum) with only 8 votes 😦

He paid over 2.5 million in taxes in 73, without squealin bout it.

I dont see where the amount of taxes he paid is in the article however if it is true what was his gross income in 1973.? That’s the only way we can tell what his effective tax rate was. Also the article makes no mention of his reaction to paying the tax

Oh how patriotic! I appreciate him even more knowing that he paid more for the ineffective government than anyone should be allowed to.
Even as flawed as Elvis was, he was a shining beacon of conservatism compared to today’s neocon “conservatives”.

They believe in taxcuts for millionaires regardless of how many active wars we’re fighting, a new American precedent set by george junior in 2004.

ANd carried on in full force by the Master of Peace, The Shining Beacon of All that is Right, Barack Hussein Obama (PBUH)

Just another neocon parading around as a democrat like clinton.

At least you get it. I can’t stand “neoconservatism” and their phoney baloney “We want small government…except when we want big government” nonsense.

Yeah, we’re all gettin it, collectively, and I don’t swing that way without a fight.

We don’t even get dinner and a reach around.
Apparently we get the leadership we deserve as a nation, or world,

But we’re catchin onto their goals now, and I’m sure the thought of the truth becoming generally known to the public, terrifies them no end.

The US needs to clean house, politically and morally speaking of course, as provided for in our much battered and abused constitution.

Actually taxing wars out of existence makes good fiscal sense to me. It would discourage destructive behavior through taxes being raised, while encouraging peaceful productive behavior by lowering taxes during times of peace and prosperity.

Kinda like things were before neocons were born in America in the 60’s through Leo Strauss, the original American neocon in Chicago.

Interesting fellow Leo.

3 things would fix the problem
  1. Abolish the Federal Reserve system and all laws related to it.
  2. Abolish “confiscatory” income taxes. Make all of them payable by the individual taxpayer rather than being confiscated by the government through the employer.
  3. Move “tax day” to the first Monday of November. That is the day that all tax forms and tax checks are due to the IRS. Also, consequently, the day before voting day.

Do you mean as in just go to the bank to pay off your taxes?

Don’t know how I feel about that

I mean that the government doesn’t “take” their taxes first and give you what’s left. I mean that on the first Monday of November, you have to submit your tax forms like you do on April 15, but you also have to send a check for all of the taxes you owe for the year. I.e., the government doesn’t get to borrow your money for free and rectify the difference 6 months before election time. When everyone who has to pay taxes has to pay them all the day before they vote, it very well may make them pay a little more attention to the knuckleheads they are casting a ballot for.

But were commerce taxes not the original form/source of American govt revenue? Allowing our forefathers to make The Louisiana Purchase?

What American precedent is there for abolishing corporate taxes in favor of individual income taxes Scott?
