Good to read the humble , from the heart sort of narrative he gives about the conversion , in the NCR article .

Being in the presence of Pope Benedict , a holy , humble man of deep wisdom and the glow of The Holy Spirit ( which does not get captured at all , on T.V .) , can see how God would have used that encounter , to bring may be the deep healing he needed !

Hope that such an encounter has set off enough yearning in him, to do his share , for others who too need same !

As to accusations of adultery , would be good to read The Lord’s words - ‘if you have looked at a woman with lust , you have committed adultery .’

and also The Church’s approach on the repenant .

All this , in the realm of faith which should matter to us all , can be sort of compared with a Palestinian Muslim , vying for a top position in Israel - from his past and background , we can surmise where his deepest loyalties would be and how everything else is pretty much, to serve those loyalties !

if we had done so in case of Obama , we would not be in the mess we are in now !

This year , our choices can be lot more clear cut and thus the culpabilty too , for ignoring those !

Santorum too can turn out to be a good choice ; yet, being the father of young children
( which Romney is too - positions that should take priority may be more than the all consuming role of President ) thus , too he might be better off , in another senior post for now, to get more experience !

Unless ofcourse , God has other plans for him , even for now !

Meanwhile , hope that those of us who are supposed to be in the choir too , would be capable of hearing the music !

The CNN article seems as yet another example of the half truths that media seem to be experts at , when supporting their own !

No mention of the nature of the 'religious persecution ’ - that made Romneys grandparents , to run off to Mexico ; it was to escape rules against polygamy !

If Hispanics do not find much affinity for a candidate that is disdainful of some of the chersihed values and history of that culture , that is a blessing in disguise !

‘Free us from the false gods of money , pride and self will’ - is an invocation to The Empress of The Americas , that is just as timely now as ever !

The (false !) god ordained ideas on racism ,which was an accepted part of Mormonism till very recently , and a greedy appetite to overtake all that is around ( evident from the very early history of Mormonism and one reason they were much disdained for , in early communities ) are traits that could be dangerous , for a people who may be not able to discern the half truths and serious errors that could be promoted to them !

The reason the Bain Capital issue often comes up too would be that the basic pattern of those early days may still be much operational and should make any one cautious as to what a fast growng cancerous growth can do , to the rest of the body !

Joseph Smith’s parents history too could offer hints - mother said to have been into occult , father , a 'gold digger ’ - searching for buried treasure , unsure if he too would have used divination methods !

( Asking for help and intercession of St.Joseph , the chaste spouse of The Virgin also would be worthwhile .)

One reason Mr Gingrich who knows history well, seems to get emotional ,while dealing with Romney and what his intents could be ,is knowing all these but not able to bring it up , for various reasons !

Compassion towards the alien is a bibical mandate , that possibly would help to make reparations for much injustice , over the centuries and possibly , even to make up somewhat for our injustce towards the unborn !

True, the method of putting into practice the nature of that compassion can be not that easy to discern ; yet, atleast having the right attitude in our hearts would be important;

would be easier too , hopefully , for those who have taken to heart the words of The Mother - ’ Am I your Mother not here ! " and we know who that candidat (s ) would be and how they would /could strive to offer that sense of dignity , to all humans , because of who the New Eve is , through whom The Lord magnifies His love for all !

That is the rate on capital investment. He’s already paid income tax when he received the money as income. When it’s capital investment the increase is taxed at 15%…that’s the law.

Exactly. I know what liberals are going for here. Obama is going to play the “occupy” card and try to foment further class warfare. It is politics of greed and envy, rather than focusing on sound tax policy. Raising the capital gains rate would be a catastrophe for the economy.

From the article:

At 15%, Romney’s income tax rate would still be higher than the rate paid by most Americans.

The Tax Policy Center, a Washington think tank, projects households making $50,000 to $75,000 will pay an average effective income tax rate of 5.7% this year. When payroll and other taxes are included, that same household would pay an average federal rate of 16.6%.

I consider this a nonissue as that is the rate for the capital gains tax. Since Romney doesn’t have a 9 to 5 job, he doesn’t get taxed at the earned income tax rates. One has to remember that if the idea is to raise the capital gains income tax rate to a rate that approaches the earned income tax rates, it will greatly harm investments. If investing suffers, the economy suffers, job creating decreases, business growth moves towards stagnation, and we all suffer. I’m thankful that Romney and many Americans invest, as I am one of those who work 9 to 5 and without these investors’ support, I might not have the job that I have today. If he has a lower tax rate for supporting capitalism, so be it.

Kind of says something about how we in the U.S.A. value work. When you work you can be taxed at up to 35%. When you’re the idle rich you’re only taxed at 15%. Don’t get me started on payroll taxes or sales tax.

Fact is, the rich are leeches on society. They use the courts more often than poor people and most of our wars are to benefit their investments (Iraq wasn’t about freedom). We bailed out Goldman-Sachs for pete’s sake. I guarantee that didn’t help the cleaning woman.

It’s no wonder why the “Prosperity” Gospel sells so well; I can be rich and not feel guilty about the fact that people work jobs that won’t even pay the rent.

By the way, when you exclude students and the elderly, the effective tax rate goes up quite a bit.

Thank you for being the voice of envy. 👍

Okay I won’t. But consider this… the “rich” aren’t the only ones that invest. Working men and women invest as well. If you raise the capital gains tax for Romney, you have to raise it for everyone. What would be a good number to raise it to? Let’s make it 35% too just to be “fair.” So now, a working man who already has to pay 35% on his income now must also pay 35% on capital gains!!! and… “don’t get me started on… sales tax” property tax, etc. The working man or woman would quickly come to the conclusion that it is not worthwhile to invest and guess what… they’d stop. Then what? Private business goes down the toilet. What does that do? It causes unemployment to soar; it stifles economic growth, etc. But hey… at least Romney has to pay more of his own money.

Well since you are offering guarantees and obviously you understand economics so well, would you please provide proofs to back your argument instead of opinion? As for the rich being leeches… I agree… I hate it when I get behind some rich guy at the grocery store and he’s paying with food stamps gained by leeching off the tax payers. All they do is take, take, take… they never give. Does this sound silly?
It’s no wonder why the “Prosperity” Gospel sells so well; I can be rich and not feel guilty about the fact that people work jobs that won’t even pay the rent.
A couple of things:
  1. What is the “Prosperity” Gospel?
  2. Why wouldn’t those having trouble paying their rent, get rid of their cell phones, cancel their cable, get a 2nd job, downsize to a small place, etc.? Why should a rich person feel guilty for someone’s situation when the one who is living in that situation won’t take the responsible route to helping himself?
By the way, when you exclude students and the elderly, the effective tax rate goes up quite a bit.
So what are you saying… maybe we should raise the taxes on the elderly and college kids?

Josephene,

Nute has repented as he said in an interview on CNN. What about the adulterous woman! Didn’t Jesus say, "Who will cast the first stone?
