So if you pray to do well on an exam do you not study at all? Leave it all up to God?

There is a difference between passing a test and electing national leaders. There is little to no outside influence when I take a test. If I fail that test, there is only one person to blame. Who do we blame for the last 4 years of Obama? Should I look at myself with guilt because I didn’t work hard enough in the last election? I worked phone lines, polling places, knocked on doors, helped at campaign rallies. I voted, it counted for squat.

I refuse to lump together the secular left which is assaulting the Catholic Church and the other side - which I take to mean Romney, Santorum, the GOP, et al. Obama has done us a big favor with his HHS mandate : he has laid out for all to see what he is really about. He has demonstrated that he is not “just another politician” that is part of the problem, but something far worse. Btw, Obama/Democrat’s assault on the catholic church is also an assault on our constitution and therefore and assault on the country.

Ishii
Go ahead, refuse to do so.

I will just remind you that Catholics put him in office and Catholics work for him.

It appears to me the Catholic Church is being attacked by its own flock.

That’s a fight they need to take care of, not only politically, but internally as well.

Yes, I really believe that. Republicans just believe in their version of big-government. Or do i need to remind you of the bipartisan support of TARP, NDAA, the Patriot Act, Ben Bernanke, The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the invasion of Iraq, etc… 9 GOP Senators voted for Sotomayor, 5 for Kagan.
The “Stimulus” was not supported by any Republicans as I recall. Nor did you address the complete and total lack of support by Repbulicans of that hideous healthcare bill. That a handful of Senator voted for those two “chosen for indoor plumbing not legal brains” females is unfortunate but it was just that, a minority. While I agree Bush was a big spender, with much of the additonal baggage resulting from 9/11 and the reaction thereto, in no way did his provisions meddle in our personal lives in the fashion of the Democrats who want to tell us what kind of lightbulbs to use.

I’m a believer that part of something is better than all of nothing. I agree with the Republican party platform in virtually all elements. That some Republicans go off the res now and then is to be expected. As a Catholic you are surely aware that all human beings are flawed. SOme more than others.

And so you think that God wants you to sit idly by while Obama gets re-elected? We failed to stop Obama’s election in 2008 therefore we should give up in 2012? We need to do both - pray and work within the system, not give up.

Ishii

Yes, Lisa, they really think that both parties are the same, and that Ron Paul is somehow different. Amazing isn’t it?
Bush had Solyndra on the list as well. They just ran out of time, how unfortunate.

I am not giving up. I’m praying like the dickens.

Catholics like Nancy Pelosi, Biden and Kathleen Sebelius.

Agreed.

Its not just an assault on the Catholic church. Don’t you understand that its an assault on the freedom of religion? Won’t you join us in our fight by voting effectively against Obama in 2012?

link to article: washingtonpost.com/politics/santorum-reports-millions-in-income-as-washington-consultant/2012/02/16/gIQAVGknIR_story.html

Apparently, as far as I can tell, the only “real” jobs Santorum ever held were: politician, lobbyist, Fox News contributer.
Better than being a community organizer like Obama was! Hope we give Santorum a chance although I believe whoever is nominated, he will need a lot of prayers to defeat the Obama machine on abortion especially.

If I do, it is because I have prayerfully reflected on the situation and have been led to that decision, not because some poster on an internet chat board kept repeating the word. 😃

I’ve regrettably voice my support for the GOP candidate one last go. If they win and continue with thierry own version of progressive policies, I’m done.

Only if Rick Santorum wins will vicious government power wane. The others will slow down the rate of America's decline, at best. :( Rob

Rick Santorum’s voting record tells a different story. There is only one candidate that has a demonstrable record of standing against growth of government, and it ain’t Rick Santorum.

I worked for the McCain campaign 4 years ago. Others still made the choice for me. 🤷
I almost did back in 2000. Until the biggest smear in Republican Party history occured in South Carolina that year. The only “choice” I had left was Pat Buchanan.

I like Pat. Solid Catholic credentials, great at articulating points, out of the box thinker. Fired by MSNBC, so he must be doing something right.
