Also, folks, please let’s not forget the rest of this story. Aren’t they saying they found the tape and 2+ minutes are missing?? I don’t know this whole story well because it may not merit all that much attention. What a surprise, a politician is not easily understood in something he says or misspeaks. Happens to all of us.

And yes, I’m one of those who gets a refund usually when I pay taxes as well.

*I know I do not really “connect” with it. Even though we do pay some taxes, we do not get everything back that we pay, I know we do not even come close to the $250,000.00 dollar mark that I hear everyone toss around as being the “average American salary.” Every time I hear that I have to ask myself who makes $250,000.00 a year? The answer is always; “not anyone I know” and I just shake my head in bewilderment because how many of us actually make $250,000.00 a year? I would really like to see how many of us do because I do not believe that this is what the majority of household incomes are. I believe the majority is far less than that. I believe that when people hear “average” they think “majority” and then are lead to believe they are so alone in there struggles when in reality an “average” when compared to the “majority” just shows that there are a few people making well over $250,000.00 and masses of people making far less than $250,000.00.

The way I see it is Gov Romney and Paul Ryan want to help us too…but in order to do that they have to win the election first and that is when strategy comes into play…and yes one does have to look at numbers too just like President Obama has to and is looking at the numbers, and as for President Obama claiming that Gov. Romney is “out of touch with those of us who are in the 47%” is, I believe, an ignorant claim because I am one of those 47% who understands why Gov Romney is looking at the strategy of the election to win it and for the President to have the opinion that I do not have the brains to understand this just shows me how out of touch and how gullible he believes the 47% really are.

Yes I know I may be getting in over my head here it’s just the way I see it right now,…*

Actually, most of those 47% work (paying payroll tax), but are given exemptions and breaks that were largerly endorsed by Republicans. So, not only making logical fallacies, but deriding the expected and intented results of Republican policies. Great job shooting yourself in the foot there, Mitt.

The incumbent Democrats will appoint pro-death judges. That’s my point. We need to elect pro-life Democrats. Unfortunately primary season is over. And the pro-life forces will support the Republicans and nothing will get accomplished.

Republican Governors such as Scott Walker of WIsconsin and Chris Christie of New Jersey have defunded America’s biggest abortion provider Planned Parenthood in their states. They have done something.

We are all entitled to our own opinion but facts need to be the same for all.

Support of Planned Parenthood is scurrilous and so I am told, the Democrats actually want to expand abortion rights more let alone forcing us to pay for it in healthcare.

Let’s not forget, only 6 weeks ago, a woman in Chicago died at a planned parenthood clinic. So this happened in Illinois, possibly such could not happen in Wisconsin or New Jersey with our taxpayers’ dollars.

It’s when I state the facts, like there are more poor people in the US since 2008, or that home owner ship is at its lowest in a decade.

All I know is that 64 House Democrats voted for the Stupak Amendment when the House bill with the public option was still in play. I personally watched the vote on CSPAN and they mentioned most of them were taking political risks with their votes on this.

Sure you can claim “But they voted for Obamacare.” Some of them did but so what? They could have been duped by the forces that ran the Democratic Party. AFAIK there was nothing in the bill that forced government to pay for abortions. The privates had already been funding abortions. (The mandate followed but that had nothing directly to do with the bill on which they voted.)

Had these same bluedog Democrats been Republicans, especially Stupak, they probably would have been treated with much more respect by the far right. Instead they got voted out and the Republicans, many of them pro-choice or pro-status-quo, gloated.

On the Senate side, pro-life Democrats have less of a chance. There are some Republicans ready to compromise their own “pro-life” position to get something else for their constituents (those bills frequently have unrelated items) but that’s another topic.
 
Actually… its obama and the pathetic way he has ruun this country into the ground that should be ashamed of themselves. They need to step out of the way. They are ruining this country with dependence on a free ride. Patheic… WoW.

But what about the people voting for you, Mitt? Oh, would you look at that. The red states, where your support is greatest, receive the highest amounts of government handouts, exemptions and breaks. The elderly and disabled, good old Republicans still loyal to the party, getting handouts like medical care so they can survive another day. What are they, do you say? Dependent victims that don’t take responsibility for their own lives. Nice going spitting your supporters in the face there, Mitt.

I have never heard that $250,000 is the average American salary. :confused: Where are you seeing that?

Only politically at best. I don’t know the PP but the problem as I see it that the way things stand right now, abortions cost a few hundred dollars while providing health care all the way through pregnancy costs several thousand dollars, with a small chance that it could cost millions. Unfortunately economics trumps protection of life in many (not all) of these cases, especially with the private insurers involved. Neither party has proposed an ultimate solution here, though, if health care bill can provide women some financial support during pregnancy, that would be a good start IMO. Just trying to be practical here.

Epan is the only one who uses this sort of language around here, unless it is done in jest. He does so for effect, like a child stomping their feet for attention. Best left ignored.

When questioned what he thought was middle class, Romney responded that people with incomes of $250,000 and $350,000 were considered by him to be middle class
