*I personally like the way Gov. Romney and Paul Ryan are in trying to get people to not only to believe in America again but to believe in God and each other again.
I remember hearing about Gov. Romney wanting to battle for the Soul of America and it resonated in me right to my very core. I have for the longest time been hearing what I can only describe as an agonizing silent scream and when I heard what he said I realized that this scream that I was hearing was, in part, the very soul of America dying a very slow agonizing suffocating death of fear, despair, and tyranny. Like him I want battle for it. I want to do what the Grace of God will help me to do to help try and save it and help it heal from it. I do not have the education, finances, or the social status that one needs to lead the nation in this manner. The only way I know how I can battle for the Soul of America is to follow in Jesus Christ’s foot steps by living His Truths in peace. Love of God and love of neighbor as myself, as well as I can only through and of His Divine Grace.
We are living in a time that we have seemingly lost the spirit of our for-fathers and are now living in a nation that has a mentality more like a dog-eat-dog kind of world verses one of brotherhood and community and looking out for the good of others. The sad and painful state of affairs we find ourselves in is the result or side effect of this and I believe we are all to blame for it to some degree or another. We seem to no longer know or understand what this good entails. One line from our Pledge of Allegiance comes to mind here, “One Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all!” We are seemingly, as a Nation, no longer one nation under God. We no longer look to God for guidance in forming our conscience or morals. The spirit of our for-fathers is dying or already dead. We have traded indivisible for individual. It pains me every time I hear or read about how one is not allowed to follow their conscience, whether it is caused by an unconstitutional law being passed, or by someone being killed with no regard for their right to life let alone their right to live according to their conscience. Whether it is through some law being passed that forces us to do things that violate our conscience or by having ones life cut short by their death being accelerated because they are an inconvenience and have been made to “feel” that it is pointless to suffer and that they are just a burden on society, through abortion and euthanasia. Or because they just do not have the same belief as us. It is truly gut wrenching to see a child, totally helpless and dependent on its parents, be killed by them. What makes this even more devastating is these mothers and fathers are basically told to “eat their young” for whatever the reason may be, and that it is OK with no thought or consideration as to what the long term effects are. It not only under minds our future in our prosperity but when the parent realizes that they have “eaten their young” it is so psychologically and spiritually devastating. But what makes this harder to bear is the fact that we have convinced ourselves that it was somehow for the better of something or someone and never really realize how devastating and tragic it all is. So life after life and right after right keeps on being sacrificed for some reason or another. It breaks my heart to see how we put our trust into those whom we are told are the “educated” ones because they know what they are talking about and they give you the impression that you are just too naive, ignorant, or uneducated to understand everything and to just trust them. It breaks my heart even more that those whom we are told to trust are also themselves lead down a row of “good intentions,” “justifications,” and “rationalizations.” Whether these good intentions, justifications and rationalizations come from other sources or they come from ourselves it always seems, after it is too late, we realize the destructive damage that is being caused. It is a road that spirals downward to the slow agonizing suffocating death of despair and chaos of that dog-eat-dog kind of mentality. I believe our Creator loves us so much that He endowed us with certain un-alienated rights and dignity and He does not violate those because He has unconditional love for us. When will we learn to have the same for Him and each other? No matter how much effort or sacrifice it takes on our part? Instead we are killing ourselves and and each other and we barely understand and comprehend it but all of creation is screaming in agony because of it. We need to stop this despairing, suffocating downward spiral into the depths of despair and chaos of this “dog eat dog” kind of world we find ourselves in……it is a road that spirals downward to the slow agonizing suffocating death of despair that I believe is the root cause of what is killing the Soul of America. I do not want this kind of America for my self or my children. I believe he, Paul Ryan and many others do not want it either.*
Sorry I have to continue to another post…
