Would you like me to list them for you? It’s really not that hard. You can easily find the Congressional record to see the main philibusters in the Civil Rights Act were.

Contrary to popular belief, Thurmond was the only one I can think of who flipped Republican.

Funny that you mention the KKK after I mention Byrd. 👍

The democrats still support causes designed to hurt the minority races. Planned Parenthood has killed more blacks than the KKK (enforcement arm of the democrat party) ever dreamed of.

The modern Republicans are far more aware of civil rights, than ever before (and they were always more aware than the Democrats). You seem to hold a cartoon-like image of Republicans. Reality is far different.

President Bush, the murderer of innocent lives in Iraq, not everyone was evil…Planned Parenthood killed millions, or just prevented the birth of millions?

Which party wants to continue the legal killing of unborn babies, including a much larger percentage of minorities versus whites? Where are the civil rights for those people?

The chief difference between the parties, is that the Democrats (for the most part) want to use government to force others to give money to the poor. That type of charity is sterile. Our Lord wanted us to each help our own neighbors. This helps maintain the dikgnity of the poor.Charity allows the receiver to realize that the help is coming from God through the giver to the receiver. Government “charity” is seen as coming from “the government”. Gratitude is missing. Gratitude need not be made known by the receiver (except in the most basic form); knowing of that gratitude can cause danger to one’s humility (again speaking of the giver). But that gratitude is good for the recipient

Very, very good points. There is another difference: Democrats want to be able to make people follow their agenda, no matter what other people may think…they want it enforced by law. To them, liberty means nothing, equality of result if everything–everyone must be the same…period.
 
There it goes…Abortion…I knew it would come to this as it always does…The obsession with abortion has gotten out of hand…It is just ONE issue not the only issue…Please stop the insanity…Don’t let a party win for this ONE thing:mad:

“Gratitude is missing?” What other entity can enact social change in lieu of the government. The Catholic Church can not help the poor by itself.
