I doubt I could be Mother Teresa even if I was a catholic.Aah, but if you were Catholic, you ***could ***be - that’s the WHOLE point of being a member of the one Church founded by Christ.
I am a male, you know.

The church figured out which writings were inspired and which were to be included in it. My church, not yours.I don’t think the church wrote the bible.
I think it was inspired by God.
The church didn’t write anything.
God’s Word would have been produced EXACTLY as He willed it no matter if the Romans, or Greeks, or the CC or even the CHINESE were in power at the time. The church figured out which writings were inspired and which were to be included in it. My church, not yours.
And you dare to say we don’t know how to interpret it?
Umm, no.God’s Word would have been produced EXACTLY as He willed it no matter if the Romans, or Greeks, or the CC or even the CHINESE were in power at the time.
God didn’t need your church ‘to figure out’ anything.
It is God’s Word, not the word of the Catholic church.
When you realize that, you will realize that you are not the only ones capable of interpreting it.
That teaching of infallibility is false.Umm, no.
Jesus didn’t say ‘the gates of hell will not prevail against the Greeks’ or ‘against the Chinese’ or ‘against anyone who wants to try to interpret or determine the composition of this book’. He ONLY said they will not prevail against the Church founded on Peter and the other Apostles. Which ain’t yours.
Sorry to disappoint, but the ONE Apostolic and Catholic Church IS the only party protected by Jesus’ guarantee of freedom from error in its teaching.
And I will send you the Holy Spirit to guide you in all truth. That teaching of infallibility is false.
Do you have any bible verses that say that the church is infallible in its interpretation of the bible.
OOPS! Trick question! That teaching of infallibility is false.
Do you have any bible verses that say that the church is infallible in its interpretation of the bible.
The Church decided which books belong in the Bible. Here’s a great free MP3 that explains the process.biblechristiansociety.com/download/mp3/which_came_first_church_or_bible.mp3I don’t think the church wrote the bible.
I think it was inspired by God.

Are you serious? I’ve already given it. How on earth could a church that officially teaches error in any respect POSSIBLY prevail against the gates of hell? Do you concede at least that the true Church of Christ cannot possibly teach error? That teaching of infallibility is false.

And the choir sings, “Amen!”Are you serious? I’ve already given it. How on earth could a church that officially teaches error in any respect POSSIBLY prevail against the gates of hell? Do you concede at least that the true Church of Christ cannot possibly teach error?
And based on the SAME verse, the Church against which the gates of hell will not prevail must of necessity be one which has existed since the time of the Apostles. If it has at any time since the Apostolic Age fallen into heresy or error then Christ’s promise is worthless and the gates of hell have prevailed.
That leaves two candidates - the Roman Catholic and the Orthodox. Gotta be one or the other, bud.
Have you ever done any research into all the corrupt popes over the last two thousand years? Are you serious? I’ve already given it. newbie1234;1904054:
Notworthy,You read, “I can be complete by just using Scripture and nothing else”.
It DOES NOT say that.
The one you quoted was a quote from Newbie1234 which I was refuting. That’s what I was trying to say: that the Bible actually DOES NOT SAY THAT. The software did not work properly.
Friendly fire. It’s ok, my mistake.

There is a difference between infallible teaching and impeccible. Infallible means the Pope cannot teach error; it does not mean he cannot sin personally. Impeccible means unable to sin, which does not apply to any Pope. They all commit sins in their personal lives, but they cannot teach anything false to the Church.Have you ever done any research into all the corrupt popes over the last two thousand years?
Look up Boniface viii. Read some comments he made about the church. He was accused of being a sodomite a sorcerer and a heretic.
Clement V Nepotism
Sergius III illegitimate son
BenedictIX
The list goes on and on and on and on
And you say the church cannot teach error?
What about the great schism?
Ever research how many popes have been murdered?
There were some EXTREMELY dark times in the Holy Roman Catholic Church in the last two thousand years.
Do some research and then ask me if the church can teach in error.
What error has the Church taught though? And on what do you base your claim to know that the church HAS taught error?Have you ever done any research into all the corrupt popes over the last two thousand years?

“I don’t think the church wrote the bible”?I don’t think the church wrote the bible.
I think it was inspired by God.
The church didn’t write anything.
The Sacred Tradition is of different species. So there is no point to compare in terms of “whose word” it is.I have a question:
Is Sacred Tradition the Word of God or the word of man?
My bible has an old Testament written by Moses, David, Solomon etc. Were they part of the Roman Catholic Church?“I don’t think the church wrote the bible”?
You must be kidding.
The writers of the 27 books(using protestant arithmetic) in the new testament were Christians composed of partly the Apostles themselves and those who received instructions from the Apostles and their successors. How can you say they are not the Church? Are you disenfranchising Mathew, Mark, Luke and John?
“I think it was inspired by God”?
You must be a plasma scientist. Because you try to distort God’s inspiration to create matter (The Book) out of direct energy amplification and radiation (Inspiration) straight out.
“The church did not write anything”?
Of course a building cannot write. But are you saying those who wrote the new testament did it outside the Catholic Church that was the only church established by Christ? Are you saying that the Bishops and scholars who convened from 1st to 3rd century to determine which books are inspired and which were not were not church people?
Do you have any bible verses that says sola scriptura is an infallible interpretation?Do you have any bible verses that say that the church is infallible in its interpretation of the bible.
Since you jumped to OT, let me jump with you: Is OT part of your Bible? Who told you it’s part of Inspired writings? My bible has an old Testament written by Moses, David, Solomon etc. Were they part of the Roman Catholic Church?
