I want to start with saying goodbye to @Niblo. We had a short discussion on how to establish peace on earth and we both gave up! šŸ˜‚. The interaction was wonderful and you are an awesome person!
Hi Patty.

I trust you are well.

Many thanks for your kind words, but it ainā€™t over till the fat geezer sings šŸ˜‰. See you on the other side šŸ‘āš˜

Meantime, may the Beloved bless you - and all you love - and draw you to Himself.

Another person whom I deeply admire and whose posts I enjoy reading is @OddBird.
Donā€™t make me blush @Salibi! Youā€™re way too kind ā˜ŗļø
Will you be joining us over at St. Izzyā€™s? Iā€™ll miss you, if you choose not to. Your posts about Lebanon were so instructive and eye-opening, and I learnt a lot from your analysis. Admiration goes both ways!

Most people Iā€™d have liked to thank have already crossed over, but Iā€™d like to mention two people I think have said they would probably take a break from fora:

@MNathaniel ā€“ fellow CS Lewis fan! youā€™ve often said aloud what I was thinking for myself! And Iā€™ll be eternally grateful to you for introducing me to Jimmy Akinā€™s Mysterious World. šŸ˜†

@1ke ā€“ I admire your clear mind and unfailing loyalty to the Church. I learnt a lot from your posts.

Also a special mention for @Don_Ruggero. I was still a lurker here when you used to post, Father, but I always enjoyed reading you. I hope youā€™ll join us on the other side!

And I canā€™t name everybody, but I give thanks daily for all those here who have been praying for me in this particular and often difficult period of my life, in particular the Perpetual Rosary crew. Please be assured Iā€™ll keep praying for you.

Thank you @catholic03! ā¤ļøā¤ļø

Iā€™ve always appreciated your posts although occasionally disagreeing with you (and that was probably once in a blue moonā€¦).
Thank you, @Margaret_Ann. It was mostly on the SSPX that we disagreed. You will be pleased to know that I have reevaluated my position after personally asking Bishop Schneider about it, and receiving a response from him in which he told me that the SSPX is, in short, just fine (and very orthodox). I also had a habit of defending every action of the Holy Father (ranging from Pachamama to Amoris Laetitia )which I now see as quite unhealthy. This year I have really had some time to rethink a lot of things, and I thank many of the members of CAF for that.
@Margaret_Ann
Even though we sometimes disagreed, I learned a lot.
In hindsight I argued more than I should have about SSPX. I really am closer to that position than to other positions.

Margaret and @MagdalenaRita always read my posts, and any links, and sometimes successfully refuted my arguments.

Donā€™t forget @athiestgirl. She kind of disappeared after the death of her husband and I really miss her. Jeannemarie and Truelight are two more and Dale and the Cardinal bird. Of course MichaelFrancis who moderated so patiently and It is solved by walking Augustine and Bonnie from Deer Park.
Ah, I didnā€™t know she lost her husband. I wondered why she left. I hope sheā€™s ok.

Thank you! I wish everyone well. Iā€™ve decided not to migrate to a new board so this is the end of ā€œ1keā€.

@1ke ā€“ I admire your clear mind and unfailing loyalty to the Church. I learnt a lot from your posts.
Thank you!

I wish you well in your future online endeavors. Iā€™m retiring ā€œ1keā€ and not migrating elsewhere.

Thank you for your kind words. Iā€™ll be over at AveMaria forums.

For all of you that I have, sorryā€¦old age, you know. Iā€™ll add as I remember!
You dang well better.
Letā€™s be honest,
we all know that CAF revolves around
ME
šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m out of hearts at the worst time! Funny how our worlds revolve around ourselves, huh? I have so enjoyed your posts. Your points of view from an Aspy are actually helpful so often. Iā€™m on the borderline and often see things as you do. Youā€™ve been a delight!!

Everyone Iā€™ve interacted with at any time here has helped me understand the different views of us human beings. Itā€™s funny, on some specific topics, we are on opposite shores yet often I still find something I agree withā€¦even in the World News threads. How can that be? Itā€™s because we are all nuanced people. We arenā€™t black and whiteā€¦well, some of are but I mean in our thinking!.

Iā€™ve enjoyed the posts discussing God the most. Probably because itā€™s the most foreign to me, though I had it once and who knows? Your God gives many of you great strength and compassion. I donā€™t want you to ever lose that. Itā€™s a comfort I lost when I lost my faith and isnā€™t replaceable in the atheist worldā€¦we have other comforts, though. The world needs both religious and nonreligious people, I think. We create tension but also a balance to life and itā€™s navigation. We keep each other in check. As long as we respect each other and acknowledge our shared humanity, weā€™ll do just fine.

Finally, I want you to know that I truly care about all of you. There is a human face behind each of your avatars. You are real people with real lives and I feel privileged to have met you! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

What a great idea, Patty. But there are too many to mention. The orchestra would start playing and Iā€™d leave too many off the list. And Iā€™d want to include all the ones Iā€™ve been butting heads with this past year or so as well. Even the ones that have driven me nuts! Even the ones that got me sent to the naughty corner on ocassion - I generally deserved it (and even those who got me banned permanently at one time in a previous incarnation as Bradski).

This will be the third forum I have joined in the last 15 years that has gone belly up. I hope itā€™s not my bad influence. And I made friends in all of them. Sā€™funny you get to know people just by what they write. Thereā€™s a term (which I canā€™t remember) for the habit we have of forming a mental picture of people we have never met in person. So I have an impression of yā€™all - which I will not be describing to save any possible embarressment.

And Iā€™ve just checked my summary and guess what Patty? Iā€™ve given you more likes than anyone and Iā€™ve received more from you than anyone else. Whaddyaknow.

And the people Iā€™ve replied to the most areā€¦how shall I put thisā€¦those I disagree with the most. But thereā€™s only one or two out of the hundreds Iā€™ve interacted with who I probably wouldnā€™t invite around for a barbie.
Well Brad/@Freddy we do have some serious divergences, but you do have some well reasoned positions and questions that we agree on.

I do appreciate @1ke as well for your simple and honest replies to questions. You are not one to dance to strange music just because itā€™s playing, and I appreciate that.

I want to thank the people on this forum for making it an informative place to go to. I learned a lot about my Church and her history from the others here, and exchanging ideas here helped me to become more empathetic to others.

I want to thank the people here for usually being polite and calm, even when disagreeing on opinions. I also want to apologize for having sometimes lost my temper in the past and thank those who showed patience in the face of this.

Iā€™m going to miss this place and the people here.

Thanks for this thread:

Really this forum has been such an important part of my life, and I am sad to see it go as itā€™s literally changed my life in a very big way.
