So now the left cares what Schwarzenegger thinks?
Jerry Miah;9277598:
Some of them must. One doesn’t just get obsessed with Bill Ayers on their own. Many here on CAF do not listen to the people you mention.
I could make a similar claim about Liberals listening to the shills on MSNBC. But I won’t go there.![]()
And it’s not MSNBC that we are discussing as saying the Republicans are out of control with right wing extremism, it’s solid members of the GOP who are saying it.
And the objective proof of this will be forthcoming? Whose “traditions”? By whose definition?…The left in general is hardly represented in US politics. By traditional standards, our two parties are center and right…
Well here is an actual Catholic answer.Assuming they have had the sacraments of initiation they cannot be Catholics in name only, they are Catholics by the sacraments instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ. They can be disobedient Catholics, or Catholics in need of teaching, but not Catholics in name only.
I still chuckle at the rank historical ignorance that leads people to qualify Republicans as “extreme right-wing.” It seems every election year boils down to the same few questions. Shall we invade three countries this administration or only two? Shall the top marginal tax rate be 42% or 38%? Is abortion a regrettable necessity or a highly regrettable necessity?
But then I guess I’m still surprised people consider America a right-wing nation, democracy and capitalism right-wing ideas, etc.
In comparison to Canada and Western Europe we have a right wing and a centrist party. In comparison with say Saudi Arabia we have to left wing parties. In comparison with the 1970s or so there has been a rightward shift on issues like taxation levels. And the objective proof of this will be forthcoming? Whose “traditions”? By whose definition?
Don’t forget we’re immoral too.How about “evil”, “mean-spirited”, “greedy”, or all the above?
The indispensable condition for our personal spiritual survival is that we say NO to the prevailing values of the liberal order and that we keep saying NO.
That Arnold is a RINO?I feel like all the people in this thread calling him a RINO pretty much have proven his point to be true.
Yeah, Schwarzenegger is just ignorant of the Republican party and American politics, I guess.I still chuckle at the rank historical ignorance that leads people to qualify Republicans as “extreme right-wing.” It seems every election year boils down to the same few questions. Shall we invade three countries this administration or only two? Shall the top marginal tax rate be 42% or 38%? Is abortion a regrettable necessity or a highly regrettable necessity?

Are you up to actually trying to defend such an absurd claim, or do you let smilies speak for you?
There is no conservative or liberal in Catholicism, just obedient and disobedient.Yes; matched only by the uncharitable “CINO,” referring to Catholics who don’t toe the conservative line.
Rich, I was listening to “On Point” the other night. Many of the callers stated those who opposed the HHS mandate were “extremist.” That is, 2,000 years of Catholic Teaching were labeled “extremist” by those on the left.Sure, to the far leftists; same holds true for the far rightists.
I disagree, there are areas where there is not a definitive teaching and multiple points of view exist without being disobedient. At times these points of view can correlate with labels like conservative or liberal. There is no conservative or liberal in Catholicism, just obedient and disobedient.![]()
And an extreme leftward shift on social issues and spending. In comparison to Canada and Western Europe we have a right wing and a centrist party. In comparison with say Saudi Arabia we have to left wing parties. In comparison with the 1970s or so there has been a rightward shift on issues like taxation levels.
No, that’s your definition of CINO and a very uncharitable one at that. You are in one motion forgetting that sinning Catholics need the Church, and need to feel part of it so that they may be reconciled to it. Calling one a CINO by your definition is dismissing them as fellow Catholics. As has been said, the Church is a hospital for sinners, (even “CINOs,”) not a country club for the saved. You do not understand the meaning of CINO. A CINO is somebody who calls themselves a Catholic but does not know a lot of Church teaching and does not go frequently to Church. It may also be used to describe those Catholics who support things in opposition to the faith.
I was thinking the same. Ask Zell Miller about the extreme Left.Funny…
And the same thing can be said about extreme left wing Democrats.

I refer to the non-negotiables which are what are usually meant when the term CINO is bantered about. Then there is only obedient and disobedient.I disagree, there are areas where there is not a definitive teaching and multiple points of view exist without being disobedient. Of course. So now the left cares what Schwarzenegger thinks?![]()
