This is an example of citing inconvenient statistics, to inform the public that was being confused by the media for months. Since the actual statistics don’t support the anti-Trump media narratives, those factual numbers have to be suppressed immediately. Otherwise, people might start asking really inconvenient questions. This is an example of citing irrelevant statistics to confuse the public.
It is immoral nonsense to disregard sufferings and deaths of people just because they had other factors that weakened them for the coronavirus. We can’t expect everyone to be Olympic athletes in perfect health. Many people are stricken with various diseases and conditions. Disregarding their deaths as unimportant is the kind of thinking that leads to euthanasia. Only this would be passive euthanasia - refusing to care about those with two or more illnesses. This is an example of citing inconvenient statistics…
Only the “Orange Man” had the power to invoke the Defense Production Act to get more testing supplies available to those governors, but he didn’t do it. That was one of his mistakes. Another is spreading misinformation that contradicted what experts on his own pandemic response team were saying, and then sidelining them and ignoring them entirely. This has become the Trump pandemic, as shown by the fact that the US has one of the worst covid death rates per population among all developed nations. We could have been the best, but Trump made us just about the worst.Of course no one else makes mistakes only orange man
Talk to the front-line doctors treating this virus. They will tell you you are wrong. This disease is not as bad as they made it sound.
I see no reason to doubt Johns Hopkins. Why would they lie?the numbers were exaggerated
No one is denying the those with those conditions are at higher risk. But citing those facts does not excuse the results we have compared to other developed nations with more aggressive policies. Here are just a few:No one said their deaths were unimportant. However,in order to get a handle on this virus,it’s imperative that the data be accurate. It has been stated from the nest, hat those with comorbidities, underlying conditions would be at higher risk.
And you don’t know that they would have lived. The point is, they contracted covid and the medical professionals determined it likely caused their death. That is the normal way in which these things are reported.LeafbyNiggle - you dont know that these people would not have died anyway, perhaps even sooner.
Anecdotal stories like this should not seriously challenge the general reliability of these numbers. We saw the refrigerated trucks being used as a temporary morgue at overwhelmed hospitals. These are not people that “would have died anyway.”This was about the time of the drunk driver who crashed, tested COVID+ post mortem, then listed as a COVID death.
Just because you can’t identify the vector for infection does not mean it didn’t happen. One wonders when a 99 year old with “underlying health conditions” is listed as a COVID death - “how did they contract the virus - in July?”
But they didn’t. We are still short today.Trump did not need to invoke the Defense Protection Act when manufacturers stepped up to the plate and converted from their normal operations to produce the needed supplies.
But it should be actively confusing the issue by spreading disinformation. The federal government is there to provide support and aid
Actually - some deaths are “presumptive” with no test done. Perhaps. Autopsies have not been conducted on every death, probably not even most. And you don’t know that they would have lived. The point is, they contracted covid and the medical professionals determined it likely caused their death. That is the normal way in which these things are reported.
I never stated that anecdotal stories should challenge numbers - Observed and reported errors in how COVID cases were being reported changed the way reports were made and information shared. This impacts many aspects In my state - some workplace outbreaks were reported - others were not … the disparity was random and inconsistent - seeming to be politically motivated … now they pretty much dont report any workplace outbreaks and and now little information on the types of underlying co-morbiditiesAnecdotal stories like this should not seriously challenge the general reliability of these numbers… These are not people that “would have died anyway.”
We saw the refrigerated trucks being used as a temporary morgue at overwhelmed hospitals.
Yes … and we saw the Javits Center, the Naval Ship and Samaritan;s Purse Mobile hospitals not only NOT overwhelmed but - especially the first two - unused in the extreme … Requested and delivered - Under utilized - even after reconfigured to accept COVID patients … and some of those temporary morgues were caused by the Governors of NY & NJ sending COVID positive patients into nursing homes with the most vulnerable people [elderly and with underlying health issues] where more people were help captive to be exposed to COVID - and many perished for that fatal error in judgment.
And your proof of this? anecdotal stories should not apply as you saidBut they didn’t. We are still short today.
I do not believe that the government should be spreading confusion LOL - not sure that is what you meant … The federal government was not actively spreading disinformationBut it should be actively confusing the issue by spreading disinformation.
If they had covid-19 before they died then there may not be any need to do an autopsy. And you don’t know that they would have lived. The point is, they contracted covid and the medical professionals determined it likely caused their death. That is the normal way in which these things are reported.
But then you went right on to challenge the numbers with:I never stated that anecdotal stories should challenge numbersAnecdotal stories like this should not seriously challenge the general reliability of these numbers… These are not people that “would have died anyway.”

…some workplace outbreaks were reported - others were not … the disparity was random and inconsistent - seeming to be politically motivated … now they pretty much dont report any workplace outbreaks and and now little information on the types of underlying co-morbiditiesThe fact that some facility was not overwhelmed does not change the fact that many of them were. Those refrigerated trucks were there for a reason. To hold dead bodies that were too numerous to process through the normal channels. We saw the refrigerated trucks being used as a temporary morgue at overwhelmed hospitals.
Yes … and we saw the Javits Center, the Naval Ship and Samaritan;s Purse Mobile hospitals not only NOT overwhelmed but - especially the first two - unused in the extreme
Anecdotal stories do not establish statistics, but they do establish instances of a problem. And there are problems. We know tests are backlogged, taking sometimes 7 days for results. This is essentially useless for contact tracing. There are shortages of testing materials. That is a known fact. It is nonsense to try to deny it.And your proof of this? anecdotal stories should not apply as you saidBut they didn’t. We are still short today.
Not the whole federal government. Just Trump. Unfortunately a lot of people listen to him and believe him because he is telling them what they want to hear.I do not believe that the government should be spreading confusion LOL - not sure that is what you meant … The federal government was not actively spreading disinformationBut it should be actively confusing the issue by spreading disinformation.
What is a legitimate news source these days? There are two definitions for that…democrat and republican. One has a false narrative and CAF can’t discern that for you because the shadow of deception is quickly moving about and intensifying in MSM.I honestly wish and possibly would request that World News would reinstate the rule allowing only news articles from legitimate news sources.
