Still makes it a deadly disease, 3 times as deadly as 9/11.

This is an example of citing irrelevant statistics to confuse the public.
This is an example of citing inconvenient statistics, to inform the public that was being confused by the media for months. Since the actual statistics don’t support the anti-Trump media narratives, those factual numbers have to be suppressed immediately. Otherwise, people might start asking really inconvenient questions.

Oh i see…so all those governors, senators, congressmen (and media) were all awaiting an ‘order’ from the emperor trump on how to ‘save’ them. They were so ready to listen and just do what he said. Because no one else had any work to do in their respective constituencies to try and help their own areas. Of course no one else makes mistakes only orange man

While on the media, their fear-mongering really has really made this worse. This disease is not as bad as they made it sound. While re opening the economy it would be helpful to keep people (Such as those with underlying medical conditions or the elderly) at home.

Sigh.

I honestly wish and possibly would request that World News would reinstate the rule allowing only news articles from legitimate news sources.

The actual news is that there exist death certificates that list Covid and another cause of death.

The most frequent examples include pneumonia, respiratory distress, and vascular issues.

Since it’s a respiratory virus that attacks the lungs and vascular system, that makes sense.

People have died in the massive amounts due to this virus.

Those of us who were paying attention saw at the start that the numbers were exaggerated .This virus has been so politicized by the Dems its really amazing how quickly they were able to use this virus as Trump’s Waterloo, since their impeachemet efforts fell flat.
Now it appears their lack of action re the violent protests and riots is backfiring on them too!

This is an example of citing inconvenient statistics…
It is immoral nonsense to disregard sufferings and deaths of people just because they had other factors that weakened them for the coronavirus. We can’t expect everyone to be Olympic athletes in perfect health. Many people are stricken with various diseases and conditions. Disregarding their deaths as unimportant is the kind of thinking that leads to euthanasia. Only this would be passive euthanasia - refusing to care about those with two or more illnesses.
Of course no one else makes mistakes only orange man
Only the “Orange Man” had the power to invoke the Defense Production Act to get more testing supplies available to those governors, but he didn’t do it. That was one of his mistakes. Another is spreading misinformation that contradicted what experts on his own pandemic response team were saying, and then sidelining them and ignoring them entirely. This has become the Trump pandemic, as shown by the fact that the US has one of the worst covid death rates per population among all developed nations. We could have been the best, but Trump made us just about the worst.
This disease is not as bad as they made it sound.
Talk to the front-line doctors treating this virus. They will tell you you are wrong.

Deaths aren’t the only valid statistic. You would need to see how many enter hospitals with the virus, how many are put on ventilators, and what the long-term affects of having the disease and recovering are.

I’m also adding how very sad that not only did people who died of coronavirus had to die alone away from their families, and often without the sacraments, their deaths are being questioned too?

How sad.

These people are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters.

They died alone.

And to add to the pain of their loved ones, covid didn’t really kill them.

😡

No one said their deaths were unimportant. However,in order to get a handle on this virus,it’s imperative that the data be accurate. It has been stated from the onset those with comorbidities, underlying conditions would be at higher risk.

No one is denying the those with those conditions are at higher risk. But citing those facts does not excuse the results we have compared to other developed nations with more aggressive policies. Here are just a few:

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
Many nations got hit hard, including the US. But what matters is how they responded. These profiles of three other developed nations are typical. Note that I have added the population of each nation to the graphs so that one can compare on a population basis. Although all these nations started out very badly, only the US has failed to recover much at all. The red lines I added show the level for a specific death rate per day per million of population. So for the US, we have been peaking for the last month at about 4.5 per day per million (about 1600 per day). Germany has been at 0.2/day/million, or about 15 per day. Japan has 0.16/day/million (about 20/day). And the UK, which also has a somewhat confused covid policy, is the worst of all, but still way better than the US at 2.24/day/million (200 per day). I didn’t have time to collect graphs for other nations, but they would tell the same story, like Norway, Finland, New Zealand, even Italy, which started out doing very very badly, has got it under control. Only the US is still floundering.

The CDC routinely reduces death numbers down in pandemics and even major flu seasons - this is not unusual - it is very common … it happened for H1N1 and others

LeafbyNiggle - you dont know that these people would not have died anyway, perhaps even sooner. Many of the deaths - especially among the elderly - with other serious health issues - and many of the deaths were for people in hospice. Early on reports included if people were under hospice care but that information stopped being included - after some push back on listing them as COVID. This was about the time of the drunk driver who crashed, tested COVID+ post mortem, then listed as a COVID death.

One wonders when a 99 year old with “underlying health conditions” is listed as a COVID death - “how did they contract the virus - in July?” Obviously they are not out and about every day - shopping, movies, bars or restaurants nor driving to the local gas station for gas or use the local ATM. At an advanced age with previous health issues - how is COVID - as LeafbyNiggle would have it - the only reason they died when they did?

Trump did not need to invoke the Defense Protection Act when manufacturers stepped up to the plate and converted from their normal operations to produce the needed supplies. That is a tool, but not the only one and it should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Also, I can imagine the negative spin if he has invoked it - terms like dictator and others come to mind among other even less flattering ones.

There are some actions that cannot be taken at the federal level until and unless they are formally requested by a state governor … and at times - the feds cannot act even if requested until the respective governor makes a declaration. Similarly Governors cannot impose or act in some instances unless requested to do so by a County or City … Trump sent federal military hospitals to several states including two navel hospital ships - mobilizing them in record time [Rachel Maddow said it would talk months for the one to arrive in NYC - it was there in a couple of days after her prediction] Trump sent thousands of respirators to NY state and NYC and many other places. NY had been told they needed respirators stockpiled for these emergencies and failed to do so … then you and the Governor and Mayor blame Trump. They now have them … and even Oregon sent NY several hundred ventilators due to the whining of failed NY politicians. Samaritans Purse even sent a hospital … and Governor Cuomo sent COVID positive patients into nursing homes - which was in fact a dangerous action that did result in people contracting COVID who would not have - some of which did in fact die. And both the governor of NY and the mayor of NYC bragged about their ability to respond to COVID in March - that they were ready for anything - no place was better prepared nor more competent.

The federal government is there to provide support and aid - nationalizing a response to a pandemic is not part of that. Each state governor is the Chief Executive and has the authority to provide the first and primary response to any emergency that arises in their state.

And you don’t know that they would have lived. The point is, they contracted covid and the medical professionals determined it likely caused their death. That is the normal way in which these things are reported.
This was about the time of the drunk driver who crashed, tested COVID+ post mortem, then listed as a COVID death.
Anecdotal stories like this should not seriously challenge the general reliability of these numbers. We saw the refrigerated trucks being used as a temporary morgue at overwhelmed hospitals. These are not people that “would have died anyway.”

Just because you can’t identify the vector for infection does not mean it didn’t happen.
Trump did not need to invoke the Defense Protection Act when manufacturers stepped up to the plate and converted from their normal operations to produce the needed supplies.
But they didn’t. We are still short today.
The federal government is there to provide support and aid
But it should be actively confusing the issue by spreading disinformation.

Actually - some deaths are “presumptive” with no test done. Perhaps. Autopsies have not been conducted on every death, probably not even most.
Anecdotal stories like this should not seriously challenge the general reliability of these numbers… These are not people that “would have died anyway.”
I never stated that anecdotal stories should challenge numbers - Observed and reported errors in how COVID cases were being reported changed the way reports were made and information shared. This impacts many aspects In my state - some workplace outbreaks were reported - others were not … the disparity was random and inconsistent - seeming to be politically motivated … now they pretty much dont report any workplace outbreaks and and now little information on the types of underlying co-morbidities
We saw the refrigerated trucks being used as a temporary morgue at overwhelmed hospitals.
Yes … and we saw the Javits Center, the Naval Ship and Samaritan;s Purse Mobile hospitals not only NOT overwhelmed but - especially the first two - unused in the extreme … Requested and delivered - Under utilized - even after reconfigured to accept COVID patients … and some of those temporary morgues were caused by the Governors of NY & NJ sending COVID positive patients into nursing homes with the most vulnerable people [elderly and with underlying health issues] where more people were help captive to be exposed to COVID - and many perished for that fatal error in judgment.
But they didn’t. We are still short today.
And your proof of this? anecdotal stories should not apply as you said
But it should be actively confusing the issue by spreading disinformation.
I do not believe that the government should be spreading confusion LOL - not sure that is what you meant … The federal government was not actively spreading disinformation

As many have been saying all along, Governors’ shutdowns caused more deaths (past, present, and future) than COVID-19 itself.

Doctors have observed problems resulting from the coronavirus shutdowns, including patients missing routine checkups that could detect things like heart problems or cancer, increases in substance and alcohol abuse, and increases in financial instability that could lead to “[p]overty and financial uncertainty,” which “is closely linked to poor health.”
“We are alarmed at what appears to be the lack of consideration for the future health of our patients,” the doctors say in their letter.

If they had covid-19 before they died then there may not be any need to do an autopsy.

The fact that some facility was not overwhelmed does not change the fact that many of them were. Those refrigerated trucks were there for a reason. To hold dead bodies that were too numerous to process through the normal channels.
But they didn’t. We are still short today.
And your proof of this? anecdotal stories should not apply as you said
Anecdotal stories do not establish statistics, but they do establish instances of a problem. And there are problems. We know tests are backlogged, taking sometimes 7 days for results. This is essentially useless for contact tracing. There are shortages of testing materials. That is a known fact. It is nonsense to try to deny it.
But it should be actively confusing the issue by spreading disinformation.
I do not believe that the government should be spreading confusion LOL - not sure that is what you meant … The federal government was not actively spreading disinformation
Not the whole federal government. Just Trump. Unfortunately a lot of people listen to him and believe him because he is telling them what they want to hear.

Anyone with a lick of sense can go to the CDC website and in seconds see what a load of fertilizer this claim is. No shock. No conspiracy. It is just a political appeal to those without respect and understanding for medical science.

Furthermore, even if there was even a hint of truth in this, which I will not waste my time with, all that would mean is that at this time there are 9000 without some factor made them more susceptible to death from COVID that we may not know about.

I will put this aside with fake moon landings, aliens and 9/11 conspiracy theories. I know too many here who have died to believe this propaganda. I cannot swear to the exact numbers, but just based on what I know, they hold fairly true.

Then there are those whose life will be limited from now on. My own priests will be on breathing treatments indefinitely. I have no patience with these COVID deniers that are constantly putting people are risk over this sort of politics.

The real shock will be when Biden is abruptly thrown under the bus with this virus and another groomed and prepared presidential candidate arises from the shadows. Up until now, Biden has been preserved in the basement. Suddenly now he will be face to face on the campaign trail and forced to breathe the air.

The real shocker is that Biden is the chosen temporary candidate. Time is pressing towards November elections.

What is a legitimate news source these days? There are two definitions for that…democrat and republican. One has a false narrative and CAF can’t discern that for you because the shadow of deception is quickly moving about and intensifying in MSM.
Hint: Follow Life
