What would you consider an ā€œeffective means to fight Islamā€?
Fighting to make people aware of the plight of Christians and other minorities in the Middle East via conventions, assemblies/protests, schools, the Internet. . . etc.

There are many things we can do that would prove to society that we are in the right, I just don’t believe holding Mohammed cartoon contests is the best way to show that we are. At worst, people will think us hateful, has as already been demonstrated in this thread.

p.s. Although there will always be those who will think us hateful no matter what we do, but it is not these people that we are trying to convince.

Maybe we could send a Goodyear blimp over to Iraq with a caricature of the Prophet smiling down on his devoted ISIS warriors…then while they are screaming and pulling out their hair at the insult,BOOM…one fully loaded blimp with a fully armed nuke will send these scum to their reward…only they won’t be getting no 70 virgins…they’ll be the virgins for Satan and his demons

I asked you to show me where the article states that Jews sponsored this event. If you cannot prove it, and the article does not say it, then that means you have been untruthful… We’ve been over this before, remember…?

Please quote it or retract the statement.
Uh, actually, I seem to recall crushing various and assorted arguments you’ve made to me in the past. If the the article’s beyond you, which I know for a fact it isn’t, then just research Geller’s biography instead. Also, I generally never even bother to follow up on the comments people might make regarding my statements, but I sometimes break my rule simply because I like you, and I enjoy your retorts. Seriously, though, did you even read the NPR link? Also, be aware that that article referred to other articles. Are you unaware of Israel’s roots as a terrorist state? Are you familiar with Einstein"s comments on the subject? It’s absurd to suggest that Jews don’t have a rich history of terrorism, as, of course, other ethnicities also share. But I can’t tell; you seem to automatically defend any and all Jews guilty of anything. Honestly T, it’s an unrealistic position to take or defend. Read, for instance, Meyer Lansky’s bio.

We have God on our side…and God will prevail
Yes, agreed. Another problem here is these people attack others and often it seems they really don’t need a reason.

The great American Pam Geller, research her, apparently has this organization or at least is involved some way. I don’t know when it was set up but it is about free speech.

In ways, I agree with those who stay don’t stir up the hornets nest.

On the other hand, look at how irreverently things the Christian faith holds sacred have been treated.

Christians don’t do this, not ordinarily. Not in any sense really.

And there is a bit of a timeline of these attacks for people voicing free speech and note this, FREE SPEECH, not denigrating the prophet.

There was a film made where a Somali woman teamed up with a Dutch filmmaker and they made a movie a bit critical of Islam.
She declared that the religion of Islam had to be ā€œdefeatedā€, and regards its followers as ā€œenemiesā€[2] that need to be ā€œcrushedā€ before ā€œpeaceā€ can be achieved. She collaborated on a short movie with Theo van Gogh, entitled Submission (2004). Critical of Islam, it provoked controversy, and death threats were made against each of the two. Van Gogh was assassinated later that year by a Dutch Muslim.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayaan_Hirsi_Ali

And the assassination of Van Gogh was very savage, I believe on the streets of the Netherlands, a relative of Vincent Van Gogh was nearly decapitated.

So what do we say here? He wasn’t drawing portraits of the prophet. All he did was make a critical film on Islam, maybe they talked some about genital mutilation, etc.

Now what’s the excuse??

ISIS has officially taken responsibility for the shootong which is very odd considering that their mission was not accomplished and their operatives were killed. You would think they wouldn’t want that egregious failure on their ā€œresume of terrorā€ but I guess I was wrong. 🤷

Desperate Much?
They are just trying to intimidate us by saying ā€œWE ARE HERE!!!ā€

Whether or not that is the case remains to be seen.

Indeed. A Jewish hate group. Please refer to the NPR blog post, which explains it well enough.

I have no idea what your smileys are trying to communicate.

Jewish hate groups exist. Muslim hate groups exist.

This event was deliberate, to whatever limited extent hatred can be called conscious.
Did you even see the winning drawing? Again, Naive much?

ā€œYesterday, December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, a cartoon of Muhammad was suddenly and deliberately drawn by crayon artists of the Empire of Japan. The United States was at peace with that nation ā€¦ā€
Cool!šŸ‘ I always like it when analogies I cannot grasp still make me laugh out loud!

I suspect you possess the mind of a poet, by the way.
I have my answer.

Why do you have to convince that it’s wrong to shoot people for drawing unflattering caricatures? Shouldn’t that be self evident?

Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Raheem

ā€œThe New Eraā€

To our brothers and sisters fighting for the Sake of Allah, we make dua for you and ask Allah to guide your bullets, terrify your enemies, and establish you in the Land. As our noble brother in the Phillipines said in his bayah, ā€œThis is the Golden Era, everyone who believes… is running for Shaheedā€.

The attack by the Islamic State in America is only the beginning of our efforts to establish a wiliyah in the heart of our enemy. Our aim was the khanzeer Pamela Geller and to show her that we don’t care what land she hides in or what sky shields her; we will send all our Lions to achieve her slaughter. This will heal the hearts of our brothers and disperse the ones behind her. To those who protect her: this will be your only warning of housing this woman and her circus show. Everyone who houses her events, gives her a platform to spill her filth are legitimate targets. We have been watching closely who was present at this event and the shooter of our brothers. We knew that the target was protected. Our intention was to show how easy we give our lives for the Sake of Allah.

We have 71 trained soldiers in 15 different states ready at our word to attack any target we desire. Out of the 71 trained soldiers 23 have signed up for missions like Sunday, We are increasing in number bithnillah. Of the 15 states, 5 we will name… Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, California, and Michigan. The disbelievers who shot our brothers think that you killed someone untrained, nay, they gave you their bodies in plain view because we were watching.

The next six months will be interesting, To our Amir Al Mu’mineen make dua for us and continue your reign, May Allah enoble your face.

May Allah send His peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhummad and all those who follow until the last Day.

May all 71 die most painful deaths and recieve no reward in heaven. ISIS, you are a disgrace to Allah. He is angry with you and hates everything you do. Hold your head in shame as Satan waits to rip open your bosom.

I’m stating that drawing Mohammed cartoons is not the most effective means of criticizing Islam.

I’m stating that drawing Mohammed cartoons is not the most effective means of criticizing Islam.
So while Obama questions the reasonableness of Charlie Hebdo, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) grants money to artists who depict Jesus and Mary in urine and defecate and homosexual acts, etc. and nobody seems to highlight the double standard.

Two wrongs don’t make a right but a biased wrong and right and wrong and right and wrong and right starts to show a pattern. We’re always wrong and they’re always right. Wrong. It’s just wrong. Right?

I’m stating that drawing Mohammed cartoons is not the most effective means of criticizing Islam.
It’s not a criticism of Islam, it’s a criticism of those organizations within Islam, like ISIS, or the Taliban, or the Muslim Brotherhood, who wish to impose Sharia law on the West, and their secular fellow travelers who will look fondly on any occasion to stick a thumb in the eye of Christians.

Actually, the best drawing at the Cartoon contest was the two chalk outlines outside the hall.

Srsly, Geller and her ilk are into this as a money stream. In lieu of a regular job, this is how they justify their existence.

In a free and open society, people can believe and think anything. It’s when their philosophy moves them to action that breaks civil law that results in the their reward (jail time or death). There’s that line that you, me, everyone cannot step across. Up to there, it’s free speech. Imprudent speech…probably. Endangers others, sure.

By the way, the conference had less than 200 people in attendance. The city government is looking at who and what they’ll rent out the hall to in the future. On another point, the conference shelled out $10K for security (that worked), but I’m not so keen on the city government spending my tax dollars on these types of events. Call it wallet censureship, but I don’t object to that.

Pamela Geller is very confrontational and critical of Islam.
But then again, this is also true about the late Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Bill Maher and the many militant atheists in their attitudes against Christianity.

Would it be really all that useful to brush them off as hate propagandists just on account of their hyper-criticism, and confrontational style?

Few people do at any rate. Their travel to any place they want for debates and book signings has gone very much unencumbered.

Of course when Maher started to criticize Islam, he really crossed at line in terms of his acceptability with the in-crowd.
