I’m so happy for you and your family:) What good news. I am glad you posted that about the Divine Mercy Chaplet etc. I used to do pray the Divine Merchy Chaplet also and have felt the peace it brings but have stopped praying it lately and I can tell that things get worse when I fall off in my prayer life. My husband and I had a bad night last night and we need your prayers.

Belle10,

Every step in the right direction is a good one! Praise God for the little step your husband took this weekend!

Continue to “need” him as your pregnancy progresses. I have found that needing my husband more helps him feel better about himself. Feeling good about going to Mass is the outcome we’re all looking for.

As your family grows your youngsters will need to have Daddy at Mass with them too. You’ll want the extra help and they will see Mass as something the whole family shares. What a wonderful gift!

I pray for all families that need to come together in faith. :crossrc:

Praying for you and your DH.

Isn’t it amazing how we can feel the difference when we stop praying? I went through a period recently when I stopped praying the chaplet and Rosary daily and boy did I notice. Then I felt upset, and like if I did pray it would only be out of a sense of obligation, and I told myself that that would make it kind of hypocritical to pray. :tsktsk: :banghead: I wasted weeks-months…all that time I could’ve been praying but I was being stupid instead. I won’t listen to those lies that were whispered in my ear ever again…I’ll keep praying.

Oh, I don’t have to fake needing him! 😛 But I know what you mean. I’ve actually been gearing up recently to talk with him about attending Mass with us for DD’s sake and mine because physically it’s getting tough. (She sometimes likes to try to crawl under the pew in front of us… 😛 :o) I as also going to point out that he made vows, at our wedding and at her baptism, to raise her Catholic, not just let me do all the work (I would say it very eloquently and kindly though, of course!).

A good point though about making him feel needed (which he most definitely is, in many ways). :yup:

I too am praying for all families that need to come together in faith. :crossrc:

I mentioned in my earlier post from today that I’m praying a novena to St. Monica (her feast day is Wednesday). The novena is in the Prayer Intentions thread and was started by PhilotheaZ (thanks for doing that PhilotheaZ!!). Here it is:

Saint Monica, you know the struggle of those who seek to live by faith. By your example and prayers, you led your husband and your son into the way of faith. The difficulties of life did not diminish your confidence in God or your prayer. Pray for me and for all whose faith is tested that we may trust in God and not be overwhelmed or discouraged by life’s bruises but may live in faith and proclaim your generous love in word and deed. Amen.

I love our other prayer to St. Monica but I also love this one and just wanted to share it here. 🙂

Belle10,
Thank you for posting the beautiful prayer to St. Monica on this thread. I certainly needed to see it and now need to start praying it!

Thanks again!

You’re welcome!! 😃

I still love our “old” standard prayer to St. Monica (BeeSweet posts it daily) but I just wanted to add this “new” one too. You can’t have too many prayers right?! 😃

St Monica please intercede for all these mothers and their husbands and families.

Jesus flood Your blessings on them.
Mother Mary please intercede for them

Wow, I felt so alone until now. I have been married 15 years, my husband and I have gone through post pardom, a miscarriage, death in the family and an affair. I never thought I’d get through the last one. I was born Catholic and went to church but until his affair I can honestly say I didn’t find Christ. I went to church and offered my life to Jesus. I was so lost, hurt and lonely. At that moment I felt a peace come over me like warm water. I turned to God and today our marriage is better than ever. With the exception that he questions his faith. I think it has alot to do with the affair and his guilt.
I am praying for my husbands conversion and for all of you out there that are hurting. You are not alone, you are loved and with Christ by your side you are strong.
Thank you.
Diane

Welcome Diane. We’re sorry you’re here, but glad you’re here, know what I mean? 😉

How wonderful that you now feel God’s peace in your life!! Thanks for the reminder (bolded above) of God’s love for each of us. You’re now part of our little “family” here and will be included in our prayers! :crossrc: :hug1:

Diane,
Really allowing Christ to overtake your life is such a warm, peaceful feeling. I’m so glad you found that. I pray that your husband (and mine) can someday let go of themselves and let Christ into their core.

You are definitely not alone! Hang in there and pray hard with the rest of us.

I have known that this topic exists, so I thought I would stop by as long as it is St. Monica’s memorial today

I pray that St. Monica may help all those mothers and wives who are having problems in the family

Today on St. Monica’s feast I pray for all of our husbands that they may come to know God and come to love Him. I pray for the conversion or reversion of their hearts. May they come to know the truth and not be indifferent towards our faith and our Lord.
