Erazo, that’s wonderful!!! :extrahappy:
Just keep praying for him. My husband has been searching for awhile too. Yesterday I got upset at Mass because I was so wanting DH to be there with me and DD. :crying: Obviously I want him there for his own good but I want him there for selfish reasons too, know what I mean? 😊
Were you at my mass too??? 😉 I felt the same way yesterday Belle. We were blessed with a pastoral visit from our bishop this weekend, and I so wished my husband could have heard his sermon. Not to mention the fact DH was suppose to be an usher at this mass, and he would have presented the gifts DIRECTLY to the bishop, and I know it would have been a powerful encounter for him. Like you said though, it was partly for selfish reasons because I keep hoping for the “lightening strike”…know what I mean??
Perhaps your marriage is going through it’s most difficult time because your DH is coming closer to God. Spiritual warfare is definitely real, and I’m sure the evil one doesn’t like the path your husband is on, so he’s attacking your marriage. Keep praying and ask for angels to protect you both always. :hug1:
Boy do I believe this! You can’t even come close to imagining. Well, maybe you can all who are praying here can…many have been there done that. I’ve about worn my knees and beads out praying, but I will persevere. Prayer is the one thing we can send the evil one back where he belongs.
I’m so thankful for this group. :grouphug:
Me too!:grouphug: I haven’t been very vocal here of late, but I have kept up on the thread and have offered my prayers where they are needed for all of you who have posted.

I think it’s time for me to do another novena though.
Well, typical me – missed 2 days of the novena. Should I start over or just pray the prayer a few times today to make up for those days?
Naaah…just pick up where you left off. God, and St. Monica will definitely understand. 👍

I wanted to share a second pray…I love to pray. This prayer is to our Virgin of Guadalupe.

**Lord, inspire those men and women
who bear the titles “Husband” and “Wife”.
Help them to look to You
to themselves
to one another
to rediscover the fullness and mystery
they once felt in their union.
Let them be honest enough to ask:
"Where have we been together
and where are we going?
Let them be brave enough to question:
“How have we failed?”
Let each be foolhardy enough to say:
“For me, we come first”.
Help them, together
to reexamine their commitment
in the light of Your love,
willingly, openly, compassionately.
One Hail Mary…

Hail, O Virgin of Guadalupe. We place under your powerful patronage the purity and integrity of the Holy Faith in Mexico and in all the American Continent, for we are certain that while you are recognized as Queen and Mother, America and Mexico and our Matrimony will be saved…

Amen**
Wow! This is an awesome prayer erazo. Thank you so much for sharing this. It’s going to my file of favorite prayers, and I think I’ll add it to the end of my novena.

Day one:

PRAYER TO ST. MONICA

Dear St. Monica,
troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant me that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for me, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear my plea for

My husbands mental health, perpetual sobriety, and the reparation of our marriage.

and grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.

Amen.

I thought since we, appropriately, capitalize God, and the first letter of the pronoun when we are speaking of Him we should also marginalize and reduce satan because he should never be the same or above God! 👍

Erazo, my computer was down yesterday but I meant to let you know that that prayer for spouses is just beautiful!!! I saved it for future use! Thanks!

Also, wanted to let you know how happy I am to hear that your DH asked to pray the Rosary! What I would give to see the day my DH would ask for something like that! 👍

Just prayed my day of the Novena!

This is wonderful. I have wanted to start a prayer group with some wives I know, for our husbands, but as yet, has not gotten off the ground.
My husband’s name is Tony. He was baptised a catholic just before we got married. We used to discuss religion a lot then and he always listened to me and respected what I had to say but since we’ve been married, he’s lost all interest. When he’s fighting with me he won’t go to mass with me but will go elsewhere.
We have had and are having many many problems, but nothing that a real conversion of heart and soul won’t fix. (We need a miracle actually)
His whole life is out of balance. He goes to mass but believes in God in his way, not the catholic way. He went to a few catechism classes but they were nothing in depth and has not since read anything on the faith or tried to get a deeper understanding of the church.
He used to pray the rosary with the children and me but now won’t do that either. I go to Adoration at least once a week and pray for him and his conversion. It really feels like there’s a battle between God and the devil for his soul. Our marriage is teetering on the brink of separation at the moment.
Please pray for him, for us and I will pray for all of you too.
God Bless you all. This is just what we need
I know that this post is a few years old but I just had to reply. I pray that since you’ve posted this that God with the help of St. Monica’s intercession, has blessed you with your husband’s conversion. I can empathize all too well with this scenario. I too have a husband that was raised Catholic, was an altar server as a child, and “did what was expected of him” when we were dating, I’d ask him to come to mass with me, he even chaperoned a youth ministry retreat with me. That was when I started seeing “Satan’s grasp” on his soul. I still loved him and we were married within a few years and I still pray for him. He goes to mass with me somewhat regularly but, doesn’t believe in confession or in the obligation to keep the sabath holy by abstaining from work, going to mass, and spending qt with the family. We have prayed rosary together on occaision. He just doesn’t get it yet. I still have hope. He really has come a long way since we met and I do see Christ working in him. I guess that this is just his faith path and I just have to be extra vigilant in praying for him, us and our daily conversion to Christ and through Christ to one another. We used to have Catholic radio here in our area (it lost it’s funding though 😦 ) and I’ll never forget a radio program in which Bishop Sheen (I think) homilized that a Marriage if it’s not Alive in Christ, is Dead.

St. Monica, Pray for us!
