Although at least half of those deaths are in nursing homes.
This fact does not devalue the observation of Emeraldlady you responded to. So I don’t know why this is an “although”.Although at least half of those deaths are in nursing homes.
You are right, one size doesn’t fit all, but the Sweden approach would be far more appropriate for many western states than the NY lockdown.I don’t think a one size fits all answer for every nation under the present pandemic is the way to proceed because every nation has varying demographics/geographical differences!
Tyson tested everybody. No Covid 19 in most plants. None at the corporate HQ. At the HQ, though, most everybody is working at home. I don’t know if they’ll repeat the testing or when. They left Tyson open and even ordered, it is questionable what will happen. With great human cost
Then you would have to remove the nursing home deaths in other countries too if you want to compare apples to apples. It seems at least half the deaths in the US are also in nursing homes or similar long-term care facilities.I’m simply remarking on the fact that without the nursing home deaths the numbers are not that high for a nation only practicing social distancing.
The majority of deaths are in the over 65 age group. Some find that insignificant as these people are “economically burdensome” and “a drain on the young”. However even in non Christian societies that value the dignity of every person regardless, the elderly are regarded as an asset to be treasured and protected the same as any other person.Although at least half of those deaths are in nursing homes.
Three states did this: NY, NJ and CA. I posted about this back around April 29 or 30. Guess you must have missed that. But maybe that was because I cited a Breitbart article. Which was still a good article because it had links to the NY Times and the LA Times articles about the same thing. Along with links to NY and CA policy pages from their respective public health departments. It would probably also help New York death numbers if they weren’t forced to put infected covid patients into nursing homes?
You can’t, the data already shows Sweden has clearly bent their curve WITHOUT lock down. This tweet from a few days ago is relevant. Debunk if you can.
Seriously! What the HECK were these states thinking?Cuomo promulgated the policy that helped many old folks right into an early grave but he gets a pass? Remember it was so bad even the NY Times had to report on it
The same way it does for the flu. It’s not perfect but this degree of immunity is better than no immunity. How is “immunity growing” when it’s still possible for people to become reinfected?
What is to debunk?Debunk if you can.
“Rather low” compared to what? But I wasn’t trying to compare apples to apples, just noting that almost HALF of Sweden’s deaths are confined to nursing homes, so the numbers of deaths for a country just practicing social distancing are rather low.
