I’m not sure what was worse the song or the video. Dreadful. She’s not only mocking Christians but also mocking gay people. She caricatures them and makes them look like a bunch of decadent, self indulgent hedonists.

I think everyone in the video besides Ryan Reynolds is gay. Could be wrong, but i don’t think any of them would say she’s mocking them

Even back then, if you listened closely to the lyrics, it’s not clear the relationship described was chaste. Despite her invocation of God.
 
I watched the video but could not understand the lyrics at all. Not an uncommon problem for me. I had to look them up. Were the Christians the trailer trash or was everybody trailer trash? The gay chafacters reminded me of the Capital TV personalities from “The Hunger Games.”And what was the deal with the hamburger marrying the french fries? Is that part of LGBT? You can marry your fries if you feel like it?
 
The scene with the hamburger and french fries, from what I’ve read, Katy Perry and Taylor were in some long feud in the past, and this was them finally making up. As to why they’re dressed like food, beats me.
 
I have heard of it, but never seen it. I’ll have to check it out.

It is tiresome and honestly sometimes a little discouraging. In those times, I try to remember the words of Our Lord in John 15, and get some comfort:
If the world hate you, know ye, that it hath hated me before you. If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Toleration? All for it. Celebration? Not so much.

I attended Mass in a different state last Sunday. Online the church had a photo of a rainbow flag and a little caption that “Everyone was welcome.” The same “Everyone is welcome” sign was on the door.
So far, so good. I have absolutely no quarrel with that.

However (a BIG however), in front of me at Mass were two gay guys in their early 20s. One kept massaging his partner’s thigh. The other guy kept making “kissy” expressions with his lips. Too much. WAY too much. I would be offended if a straight couple were doing this, let alone a gay couple. Fine, come to Mass, but leave the PDA outside please.

True enough I’m sure, but the Church still faces opposition to her teaching on the matter-and will be a main target in the future.
 
Yes, especially among the young pre teens who are far too easily influenced. LGBTQ promotion is not a norm society should be striving to. Mocking Christians is offensive on so many levels.

Christians have built Western culture through Faith and reason , and yes there are limitations to what we can or cannot do as humans in terms of self expression which includes sexuality.

Given that and given that in Christian societies we don’t behead or kill homosexuals like in Islamic societies , i really do not get what is bugging the LGBTQ propagandists so much.

Could it be that Christians (at least orthodox) tickle their conscience and they know deep down it is probably wrong?
 
Possibly, but the very very large majority will not , shouldn’t we try and engage and meet people where they are at? I understand removing unnecessary stress from one’s life especially if you are struggling but detachment to the extent of monk hood isn’t beneficial either
 
Wahhh! I saw PMJ back in April during their tour… now they’ve got a Vegas residency going on at the moment. I really liked their tap-dancer guy… and the Swedish horn player/singer/tap dancer was insanely talented. 🙂

Back to our regularly scheduled programming… 🙂

There is some promising research that suggest Gen Z to be more conservative in general. I don’t think they will save the culture, but they may steer the boat slightly and overtime it would be much better than this direction. Hopefully.

Probably not that crazy. The woman in the burger outfit was Katy Perry and apparently they have had a huge feud with Taylor saying that they’ll never make up again. So I guess this is them making up finally. As for the food outfits, maybe they’re going for some metaphor that they are used as pawns/whatever to spread hate, since there was a food fight going on in the background. Or maybe it was just something silly so people will talk about it.

I don’t really like her pop music, but most of them are hardly breakup songs nowadays. I kind of like that Delicate song. Of course, she just had to release that bubblegum pop song right after…

She has always tried to get sales. I remember my friends buying 5 of the same albums because she had some exclusive photos within the albums which are all different from each other. She’s a smart businesswoman. When her pop career fizzles, watch her go back to country-pop again.

That being said, idk if her support of the lgbt community is somehow fake. She has been in quiet support of it for some time now, and probably decided to make money off it since people kept attacking her for being apolitical. Of course, there were rumours about her being bisexual for some time now.
