Absolutely not true as DNA for sure solves this issue. Further why would anyone suggest Trumps own words are not true but Hillary and the rest are. That argument is a staw man. 🤷
Who, here, is arguing that Hillary’s words are true and Trump’s are not?

Trump has shifted his views many times in the span of this primary campaign. I have no doubt that he is pro-choice.

Only if you base your definition “social conservative” on completely banning of abortion, respect for marriage (especially original marriage), etc.

But the way he doesn’t tolerate leftist foolishness such as disrupting his rally’s or rioting. He speaks bluntly and truthfully about these things, and it is these sort of things that many Americans are just disgusted by.
So, being a social conservative is advocating violence against protesters at rallies? Not in my opinion. You’re basically saying we’ll still have abortion, but if someone speaks out of line, he’ll get beat up. That doesn’t sound American to me at all.

The point is the argument is a straw man, just as it would be if I sat here all day claiming Hillary in truth is a racist. There’s no merit to that point and Hillary is a comparison of the same point, its not relevant, no one is arguing the point but it as an assertion could just as easily be made. These are arguments based on speculation thus a straw man. Theres no reason to believe that after catering to the entire christian population in America Trump kicks these people to the curb any more than Hillary with Blacks or gays. Its a continued point that I suppose one takes pleasure in because it can’t be proven wrong any more then the UFOs are really reptile people invading. Its speculation just as if I seen a UFO, and claimed its a war of the world attack.

I don’t want to wade into this quagmire, but there is one aspect of this discussion that really bothers me. Treating the Trump position, that abortion should be allowed in cases of rape and incest, as fundamentally different from the Democrat stance is a grave error in my eyes.
I don’t see any “grave error” there. I just don’t believe it’s wise to expend resources on some desperate plan to use Donald Trump to keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House. Better to start thinking about races that we have a hope of winning.

I have no doubt that Trump has said many things for political reasons, just as most politicians do.

Yes, that is my point. The GOP is no longer a party of life, or of marriage and the family. There is nowhere to go for people who will always care about those issues, which sadly seems to be less each year.
It’s gone for this election cycle. Maybe if Trump loses badly, the party will examine itself and ask what it stands for (which is what they should have done in 2008 when McCain lost). I am not hopeful though. They (the establishment) seems to have contempt for social conservatives and think the social conservatives hurt them.

The GOP is not dead, there are still Republicans running for Congress, governor, &c. Trump is basically a third-party candidate who captured a major-party nomination.]
But it think it could also be said that the GOP now has three parts, or three sub-parties if you will, instead of two: in addition to the Right Wing and Moderate Wing that we have had for generations, there’s now also the Trump Wing (plus they are currently the insiders).

But I agree with you that the GOP isn’t dead.

There is absolutely no way a DNA test will be required for a medical procedure. Even if it were, that doesn’t prove rape.

A patient has a right to confidentiality when receiving medical treatment. You can’t make a medical treatment contingent on incriminating someone else, or self-incrimination. That will never, ever happen, and shouldn’t happen.

Saying that there should be an exception for rape simply means that abortion must be legal because a woman might get pregnant from rape. It does not mean, can’t mean, that only rape-children can get aborted.

And while all this examining is going on, Hillary will be appointing justices to the SC. How is that going to help the GOP, or the country for that matter?

Like “thats totally out of context from what I meant.” 🙂

How about this…
Maybe if “Hillary” loses badly, the party will examine itself and ask what it stands for
Like far left socialism no one cane define?

This is getting funny now. I’m going to lunch! 👍

As I see it, it’s a no-win situation for social conservatives. If Trump loses badly, then they might regain some power in the Republican Party at the national level, but Clinton may have the opportunity to push the Supreme Court far to the left. If Trump wins, social conservatives will have little say in the Republican Party going forward.

It’s a disaster all around.

Exactly.

Are you kidding in the DOC today tests on everyones DNA are done , and thats how we find serial rapists and the point stands for incest.

You went from it can’t be done to it won’t be done. But your projecting now. And wrongly I would contend. Especially if the moment of conception is upheld than abortion is murder.

The widest open door is created by the life of the mother exception.

I think it’s funny how people here, always find a way to blame everything on Democrats, or like they say here “the liberals”.

It reminds me of a joke that Jay Leno stated in his show when Bush was president and gas throughout the country was 4 bucks a galloon.

At the time, people were upset, and this is were Jay Leno made the joke, which reminds me of the finger pointing that goes on here.

Jay Leno: “It’s funny and ironic how Bush asked the house Republicans to investigate the oil companies into the issue of high gas prices. That’s great, Republicans asking republicans to investigate Republicans. You know who their going to blame? Democrats”.

I get it folks, democrats accept abortion and gay marriage, but that is not the main thing affecting the country. That doesn’t mean I’m saying ignore those topics, but we can not blame every Republican mishap on democrats, or HRC or the left.

It doesn’t sound very American to me either. But what can we say? Trump has received about 40% of the votes, but more than 50% of the delegates.

I, and many others, tried to stop him from being the Nominee, but I think that’s over now. We have to follow the rules, even if we think it’s a rigged system.

I just hope the Democrats will come up with a better nominee … uh, never mind.

I hear a lot of folk taking about politicians who honour God. The only way any person honours God is to keep his Commandments.

1.Believe in God.
2.Do not worship anyone or anything except God; do not make, bow to, or worship an image or statue that is supposed to be God.
3.Do not take God’s name in vain.
4.Observe Sabbath, that means, rest on the seventh day.
5.Honor your parents.
6.Do not kill.
7.Do not commit adultery.
8.Do not steal.
9.Do not testify as a false witness.
10.Do not be jealous of anything someone else has.
Jesus goes on to add
11. Love God
12. Love your fellow human as much as you do yourself

Only politicians who follow these Commandments " honour God " I don’t know of a single one who does.

How do we know this? Do we believe in a God that acts in human events, or not? Christians have warned for decades that we will reap what we have sown. We have created a culture of death, we have attacked both marriage and the family, and now we wonder why things are going very badly for the USA?

There are light years between going through the Department of Corrections and receiving medical treatment from your doctor.

I never said that DNA tests can’t be done, I said that they can’t prove rape. Furthermore you can’t violate a patient’s confidentiality, nor force them to incriminate themselves, nor testify against someone else in order to receive medical treatment.

If someone says they were raped, they can get an abortion. That is the only practical implementation of such a view. You can’t force someone to disclose the identity of the rapist, and you can’t prove it was rape through a DNA test (which you can’t force anyway).

Turning a medical treatment for the victim of a purported crime into the equivalent of processing at the DOC is not only impractical, it is unethical and unconstitutional. If such an exception for rape is going to be made, then there must be functionally open access to abortion, and that is exactly what Trump has stood for throughout his public life.

Peace and God bless!
