It is never comfortable to deal with those people that seem untrustworthy. We try to trust - but we must verify!

Trump is the one who has not played word games - he has gotten out in front of many people and spoke personally - even if not politically correct or politely on occasion. He is the one people chose to run.

Americans have been insulted, embarrassed, sold out and sacrificed to satisfy those that managed to take advantage and attempt to ruin. People are  and ready to clean house! Trump has earned enough trust to get started “to make America great again”!
I think you have it. Americans feel insulted, so they choose the Presidential Candidate who insults all the politicians with petty insults worthy of 12-year-olds. I guess some think that is making America great again.

Not according to some around here. In fact some Catholics are already working on their justification of their votes, so they should be clear in their understanding that they are supporting someone who will act in a way contrary to Catholic teaching.
Well we don’t want spend too much time chasing these unknown illusive Catholics like the Hillary and Bernie Democrats with abortion, we’ll just address it as it comes along, but education is the real issue and we should all agree to put Christ back in the schools.

Yes, we should put Christ back in public schools because that’s how we ended up with Catholic schools in the US in the first place (disagreements about what Bible the students should read in Boston).

See the problem with your thinking? Hillary falls into the category you describe all too well.

Slogans can have value … they have been used by people for a long time. What is all the “classic cult of personality stuff”?

Its not hateful in your opinion, is it?

Which one of Trump’s many views on abortions am I supposed to compare to Trump?
I suppose the view he embraces this hour, this minute, this second. His flip-flopping on this would be very humorous if we weren’t talking about human lives. I guess we can just add the unborn to the list of groups Trump hates, but says he doesn’t, sometimes.

I would never (and didn’t) vote for Trump over Cruz or Kasich; but the general election is another matter. Of course it would be nice if we never got into a scenario like this to begin with, but the fact is that we are in it, and therefore each person needs to wrestle with whether he or she should vote in the presidential election or not.

But it’s dangerous to make promises to desperate people he cannot possibly keep. Some of them don’t even make sense.

No, but if we’ve got a choice between trying to fight a house fire with a garden hose or pouring gasoline on it, which one should we choose?

I know. For those who are anti-abortion, the only choice was Cruz. Even I was warming up to him, and I started off really disliking him.

Yep, it’s an ugly decision. Personally, I believe that Trump and the national Republican Party don’t represent Catholic views on abortion or same-sex marriage, torture and war crimes, but I am equally convinced that the Democratic Party doesn’t represent Catholic views on abortion or same-sex marriages.

I’m sure many will hope that Trump’s rapidly changing (I mean, evolving) views on social issues will mean that he actually will act in a way that supports their personal views when he is President. I have no such delusions.

But your man isn’t going to be on my ballot in Illinois, so I am really stuck.

I’m having trouble seeing how it’s going to hurt him. Sure we can say, He might not have his ten million plus supporters when this is over … but he didn’t have ten million plus supporters when this began either. Even if, let’s say, a year from now he’s down to a million diehard devotees, the campaign still seems like a net positive for him.

Darrel Castle? Yeah, it’s sad really: I’m sure more people, by far, will want to vote Constitution Party this year than ever before … but we’re on the ballot in less than half of the states. 😦

👍

Unfortunately we will not get the opportunity to vote for Sanders in the general.

Well, the good news is the Rep have 6-months to have Donald clarify his position the bad news is Hillary and Bernie won’t be changing their abortion position. 😦

At the moment though the issue appears more of respect with the Trump obsession as the election became wildly immature with the media. But I think to some degree all the Rep are responsible for honest conversation about their own party with Ted, Paul, Marco etc. Pretty much how this process goes as the past indicates.
