Hah. I was just pointing out on another thread, in defense of Trump, that a promise or projection that does not develop as planned may be termed mistaken, but it is unfair to call it a lie.

Trump promised that Mexico would pay for the wall; it now looks like we will pay, and it will be for fencing and other structures. Trump was mistaken in his forecast. But it is unfair IMO to call that a lie.

There was nothing in the AHA that mandated a change in doctors. Obama was mistaken in his projection, but is it fair to call that a lie? Ditto on the savings? Savings against what? Current costs or projected costs in the absence of AHA?
 
I’m willing to give Trump benefit on the wall thing, projections. Where I don’t cut him any slack is with the verifiable, outright lies.

Yeah he has a tendency to embellish but not a big deal to me.The results I am seeing from him are of greater importance to me than any proclivities he may have towards bragadosio.

All I can say is that the democrat party has gone downhill. I wish it would already hit
the bottom. They like to play dirty. I am waiting for the day the chickens come home to
roost for every democrat.

Examples, please. The Rep. were the ones playing fast and loose with the truth. Shady politics. That’s what got the “Trump dossier” released in full. So I guess shady Republican politics can do SOME good once in a while.

$393 was the ave cost for an individual policy.

You claim your cost is $83/month, which is below what Catastrophic Coverage used to cost. I think you are being subsidized and don’t know it.
 
Well, if I’m being subsidized someone made a huge error. I made way too much money last year. My income varies from year to year since I am self-employed w/a PR agency, but it’s never been close to subsidy level. I don’t put it past government to make a mistake, though. I will check with the insurance company.

Examples, please. The Rep. were the ones playing fast and loose with the truth. Shady politics. That’s what got the “Trump dossier” released in full. So I guess shady Republican politics can do SOME good once in a while. HOW has the Dem. party gone downhill? They gained a Senate seat and are poised for more victory in 2018.

It’s pretty hard to avoid the “big cost” policies because of the Obamacare coverage mandates. I can imagine (barely) a $1,000/year “pick and choose” policy like we had before Obamacare. But I don’t think those exist anymore.

If you bought on the exchange, subsidies are applied automatically.
 
I think the Democratic Party is gaining strength by leaps and bounds. Winning in a deeply red state is just the start!

This exchange made me think about it. I think I know what happened. A few years ago, the IRS wouldn’t even accept my taxes for more than a year. Kept telling me I’d paid. I hadn’t. Turns out someone was using my SS#, name, etc. They might have influenced my health insurance. I’ll call the insurance company. Maybe THEY qualified for subsidies. I know I don’t. That was the second time I’ve experienced identity theft. Sick of it.

With the Democrats likely set to take back the House in November, and at least a slightly greater likelihood (though still on the balance unlikely) of them taking the Senate, I’d say it’s the Republicans on the backfoot. Even now, the Republicans’ Senate majority has been wheedled down to 51 with the Moore debacle, so 2018 is likely shaping up to be a much harder year for the GOP, and a better one for the Dems.

That is only Temporary. Roy Moore’s past caught up with him. Doug Jones is only in Office for 3 years. This is a Red State 60/40 Rep/Dem. But again, a lot can change in 3 years. Attitudes for one. The old farts that are Red are dying off being replaced by the younger ( more often than not Educated ) Blues. The Red Neck Reds might forget where the Polls are in the next election.
