So what did you guys think of my post when you play the pokerap backwards? Do you think that it’s genuine? Why or why not?
By genuine you mean, genuine nonsense? Yeah
Seriously, I may have only studied basic College Linguistics and Theory but I’ve never found anything that remotely supports the fairy tale of backmasking. There’s only one way the human brains listens and interprets sounds and that is forward my friend.

😃

NGE (felony misuse of Christian theology) vies with One Piece (don’t like character design) and/or Bobobobobobo-whatever-it-was (don’t like anything about it) for my all-time least favorite anime.
I actually like NGE–it goes down to understanding what it really is about and what the symbolism stands for. I commented on that on the episode 26 vid on YouTube: youtube.com/watch?v=meyuyu-E5WU&feature=PlayList&p=48AC8E235004C9EC&playnext_from=PL&index=54 My comments are on page 4 (as of this writing).

Don’t know if this has been posted here, but Space Battleship Yamato is finally coming out as a live action movie sometime December this year. Don’t know if it will have an English version of it though: youtube.com/watch?v=TR_u5ftKKkU

Neon Genesis Evangelion, is one of my favourite series too

Eagelswings, I think that there are more real threats, you should put more attention in those

Blessings !!!

Leaving aside for now the reality of backmasking, It didn’t even sound like **real **backmasking.

And as I’ve previously stated, Pokemon is a Japanese show. American cover intros don’t count if you’re wondering whether it’s of Satanic origin.

I’m inclined to think it’s a spoof.

Baskmasking… I actually find it kinda cool in movies such as Cloverfield or Games like Zone of the Enders.

As for Bleach and Naruto, I can’t help but want to watch these neverending spectacles of Plot Kai and Plot no Jutsu that makes the creators look like they have abandoned whatever story they’ve originally planned in exchange for something that will grant them the Almighty Dollar at the expense of a good story/the audience.

Probably cause of glasses, yep. i have a thing for girls w/ glasses (Karin, Lisa, Nanao, & etc…) 😉

Anyways, anyone watched Evangelion 2.0 yet? 👍 Tis pretty good.

I’m pretty sure that *Evangelion’s *creator was depressed out of his gourd when he wrote for it. He didn’t choose the style and symbolism because it meant anything, but just because it looked cool. That’s just what I’ve heard anyways.

That, and it got canceled because halfway-ish it became too violent for it’s intended audience…and that whole off-camera sex scene didn’t help anything.

Amen and amen.

I watched 5 episodes of Hero Tales on Youtube posted by FUNimation. Quite a lot of sketchy content. Namely in ep. 5 a villian is a cross dresser (probably also a homosexual). I can see why it was rated TV-MA.

Girls with glasses, the new Evangelion movie has one !!!

Actually, Anno had everything planned out, including the symbols used; if you haven’t seen this, then it’s worth checking out in understanding Evangelion: therossman.com/evafaqs1/

Hhmm…canceled? I’m not aware of the original series being canceled in any way. It practically ran its course of 26 episodes. At the time it aired Gundam X was also on air, and that got canceled because of the popularity of Evangelion.

Sorry, but I’m starting to get really confused with all this hype about “plotkai”. I can’t speak of Bleach but pretty much every surprise in Naruto has always had an explanation in the following chapter.

Heck, that’s just the usual manga format: leave a cliff hanger or a surprise ending to keep readers wanting more. If you want an end to all that, well then just wait for the end of the manga, sheesh. 🤷

Besides, I’ll take that over the chaos in western comics any day. Honestly, do we need any more versions of Batman?

Yeah. American comics always try to put so much dialog into a single panel. For example, one guy could be punching a villian and at the same time be saying one or two sentences. With manga the main guy would be fighting with another guy doing the talking. It makes more sense.

Not that I’m dissing american comics of course. Just manga has better fight scenes drawn out.

Actually it wasn’t canceled but I believe Anno had some trouble with the Animation studio regarding the show’s budget. That’s the reason for the dwindling production qualities and episode 25 and 26 sucking and being redone into the movie.

I actually have equal love for Western Comics and Manga. Action-wise it’s pretty much the same. Recent DC and Marvel Events have been extremely well done and well drawn and Vertigo has never shied away from extreme action scenes.

Plotwise and subjectwise, Western Comics have much more free reign for serious stories so I wouldn’t want to disregard American Comics. Alan Moore’s Watchmen, Gaiman’s The Sandman and Spiegelman’s Maus comes into mind among others. Not that Manga plots cannot be as deep (Urasawa’s Pluto and Monster was well done in that regard) but they haven’t reached that plateau yet.

After reading manga first, I find that american comics have color pages all the time very noticeable. It’s weird!

I watch fiction, but read non-fiction. Are those American manga going to be on TV sometime? Doesn’t the hero character in manga have to look kind of handsome or pretty, depending on the sex? Our characters are usually pretty gritty looking, except Bruce Wayne, but Batman was pre-Japanese comics.

Unless you’ve read ALL manga (which come in many categories), you can’t generalize like that. Even if you consider those comics ‘deep.’

In Japan just about everything makes it into a manga, including historical events and recent court cases.

Well to be honest, comics of the graphic novel variety (like Watchmen) aren’t really what I was referring to. I was referring more to the mainstream comics of Marvel and DC. Sad to say, I can’t even wrap my head around the different versions of, let’s say, Nightwing or Spider-Man.

Oh, i see, mainstream ones can be confusing with all the parallel universes, reboots etc… if you aren’t familiar with the differences a casual fan might not know what to pick up. Recently though things have been interesting with the mainstream universes. As DC made a reboot a couple of years ago and Marvel had pretty good events like Civil War, Secret Invasion, House of M etc… which led to some pretty interesting plot changes and advances. I’m currently enjoying Geoff John’s Green Lantern and The current x-men (mutant) messiah series.

I just watched part of an episode of Bleach. Considering some of the sexual jokes the show has I don’t understand why you guys like it so much.

I have to admit that Last Exile and Love Hina are my two favorite anime of all time.
